Hello Im traveling end of july from providenciales through PHL to Zurich. I only have 1 hour between the two flights. Will this be enough time? Both supposed to be at Terminal A

No, that is not enough time to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security.

I am landing at terminal A from Rome on July 25th at 4pm and connect to a flight to Providence at 6pm but from terminal F. Will I have time to get my bag, clear customs and make that flight?? Thanks

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi--I am flying on American Airlines from San Diego to Lisbon (through Philadephia) on the 15th. We have only 1 hour layover between our scheduled arrival in Philadelphia and our flight to Lisbon. I believe that the flight from San Diego to Philadelphia typically arrives at Terminal B or C, and that the flight from Philadelphia to Lisbon normally departs from Terminal A. We will be checking luggage. Is that enough of a connection time?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

are all american airline gates in same terminal so a 45 min layover could work ?

American and American Eagle uses gates in Terminals A, B, C, and F. All gates in Philadelphia are connected inside security.

Hi. We're flying from Manchester to Orlando in October, via Philadelphia. Will we need to collect our luggage in Philadelphia and re-check it in for our flight on to Orlando? Thanks

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi. We're travelling with American Airlines from MCO on the 27th Aug, arriving PHI 1952 (they just changed the flight). We have a connection at 2100 to Manchester UK. Is 1 hr and 8 min enough time? Thanks

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

That's great, thanks for your help!

  • Terminal A to CC, 4 hours enough? (DFW to LHR to BOM)

AA arrival on Terminal A and BA departure from Terminal C,,is 4 hours enough time? there is a shuttle service from A to C?

British Airways flights do not depart from Terminal C at PHL, they depart from Terminal A. Perhaps you will arrive in Terminal C. Regardless it is an easy walk from C to A and all gates at PHL are connected inside security. Only Terminal F requires using a shuttle.

    My bad...u r right...thx..

I am connecting through PHL from San Diego AA to London on BA. I have an 1.5 hour layover. Assuming no flight delays, will i have enough time? Thanks.

Yes, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Thanks for the reply, but will I have to recheck bags? The arriving flight is a British Airways flight operated by AA and the departure flight is just BA, so I'm i little confused about switching airlines. Thanks again.

As long as everything is on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags in Philadelphia on the way to London.

Hi, I am arriving on a flight from Qatar, landing at Gate A-West at 7:30am. My connecting flight to Montreal is on Air Canada, departing at 10:40am. Is there enough time to get to Terminal D? Will I have to clear customs / collect bags / check bags again? Apologies in advance if this has been asked previously... Thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. There is no need to ask the same question multiple times.

  • Half Hour Layover

My spouse booked a trip with a layover in Philadelphia. We arrive in PHL at 7:21am with the next flight leaving at 7:55am. Is this even possible?

btw: it's all domestic flights. Flying from RI to CA.

Possible, but I would be nervous. Morning flights are more likely to be on time. If your first flight is long, you may arrive early. The departing flight will begin boarding about the time you land. If you have checked baggage, it may not make it. Or it might make it, while you don't. If you are on the back of the plane it can take 15 (nerve-wracking) minutes just to get off. If the same airline is used, then both gates MIGHT be in the same terminal. Hopefully these are both domestic flights. If you miss the connection, I think they would likely put you on the next one out.

Flying in on AA from Phoenix and have an hour and 15 min. to connect on AA to flight to Dublin. Is that enough time given flight is on time?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks, I have real bad travel karma, so that is good to know.

  • Glasgow - Philadelphia - Norfolk
    May 30, 2016

Hi, I'm flying with AA from Glasgow to Philadelphia with a 2 hour 15 minute stop off. I'm then flying to Norfolk with American Eagle which is an AA company. Can you confirm if I'll need to uplift and recheck my checked luggage? Or will it be forwarded to final destination automatically as I'm flying solely with AA? Many thanks

I think you will have to go through customs with your baggage in Philly before you can proceed to the domestic flight. The Norfolk arrival will not be set up to direct you through customs.

Are you enrolled in a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler program?

Yes, in Philadelphia you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi just wondering if an hour and a half is enough for a connecting flight from Dublin to Orlando. should have pre clearance done and flying with AA so assume checked bags would be transferred automatically. 7 of us travelling

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Transfer Time at PHL

All things being equal what the "normal" transfer time between Intl and Domestic Arrivals. If arriving at INLT and transferring to AA, do you need to go through security or are you on the right side and finally with the Immigration and TSA staffing issues what are the queues likely to be like, mid afternoon please?

Yes, you will have to go through security after you go through immigration and customs. You want at LEAST 2 hours.

My 19year old daughter, who has never flown long haul before lands from Heathrow into Terminal A at 13.15, with checked in luggage. Her onward connection to Cincinnati leaves Terminal F at 15.29, she hasn't a clue whats she's doing and is worried she doesn't have enough time. Does she?

    both flights are American Airlines

She has enough time if everything goes smoothly. She will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the shuttle bus to Terminal F.
