I am flying from ROME to Philly and have a connecting flight to Arizona. We checked 2 bags and have no idea what to do. Our flight number is AA1881.

You will arrive in Terminal A, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. Your departure gate will be in Terminal A, B, or C. They are all connected by walkways inside security.

I am coming in from Manchester (UK) on AA735 and need to transfer to Flight AA 3943 to ALB - which terminal will I land at in PHL and which do I depart from

You will arrive in Terminal A, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take a shuttle bus to Terminal F where you depart.

Have Global Enttry and and TSA preferred. Carry on luggage and seated in First cladd

All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. So 30 minutes is possible if you're willing to gamble on your first flight being on-time.

I am arriving from Cancun at 18:58 (BA) and catching a connecting flight to Dublin at 20:55 (AA). Both Terminal A. Will I have to collect my bags and clear customs again? Is 2 hours enough time?

correction - the first flight is American airlines. the second flight is British Airways operated by AA

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks. Is 2 hours enough time to do all that?

It should be if everything goes smoothly.

I am flying out of Birmingham, AL on AA 5164 arriving in PHL terminal F at 5:02pm. I have connecting flight to Boston on AA 203., departing at 5:50pm. Is 48 minutes enough time to get from terminal F to A? What happens if I miss the connection due to delay of the first leg flight? Will AA put me on the next flight or do I need to pay extra? My ticket was purchased for miles.

Yes, that is just enough time. If you miss your connection you will be put on the next flight

I'm flying home from San Juan to London Heathrow with a connection in Philadelphia. Will I have to go through immigration, pick up my luggage, go through customs and recheck them again, like I had to do on the way over?

No, flights from Puerto Rico to the mainland are considered domestic flights and there is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do on your way back to London is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Im flying to PHL from London during the christmas rush, arrive in terminal A at 16:05 and wanting to catch a flight to Scranton Pa (AVP) which leaves from a separate terminal or the furthest concourse, I cant remember the details. I would have 2 hours and 20 minutes to pick up bags, get to the terminal, check bags and clear security - last flight of the night,. do I book it or just plan to stay over?

It will be quite difficult, but isn't impossible. I would only try it without checked bags.

I arrive into Philadelphia Terminal A at 18.55 from Cancun. My connecting flight to Dublin is 20.55 (also terminal A). Presumably out baggage will go straight from Cancun to Dublin as it is package holiday. Will we have enough time??

You presume wrong. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Toronto to Newburgh NY (SWF) via PHL on American

American Airlines Flight from Toronto to PHL (Flight 4060) is delayed, will arrive~8:20PM in Terminal F, Gate F34. American Airlines Flight from PHL to SWF departs at 9:25PM (so about 1 hour layover). Looks like both inbound / outbound flights will be Terminal F. Coming from Toronto will I have problems with this connection (I don't have any checked luggage), or is most of the security/etc. taken care of in Toronto?

Everything is taken care of in Toronto. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I'm going from Germany (munich) to Texas next Saturday via PHL and have 2 hours 15 mins between arrival and departure. Both flights are AA. If I understand correctly, I have to do check out, controll and then check in. Is that right? Wll I have enough time? Do I have to walk far (arrive at Terminal A and depart at B) It's my first time going so far and I'm gioing on my own. A friend of mine at a travel agency booked for me and said it should work out - but I'm a vbit afraid...

You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to your departure gate. B is right next to A. You have enough time.

I am flying from Toronto International Airport to PHIL with American Airlines and then onto Manchester UK with Iberia (booked together). I have 1h30 to transfer in PHIL, is this enough time? Will I have to collect my bags and check in again, or are bags forwarded automatically? Do I need an ESTA for my connection? (Note I am a UK citizen with a Canadian study permit). Thanks.

Note that your flight to Manchester will also be operated by American. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Yes, that is enough time, all gates at PHL are connected inside security.
