  • Enough time to exit and get back in?

My daughter is flying from Madrid into PHL, arriving 3:00 PM. She wants to connect with a friend outside (but at airport) and get back into to airport to make a 6:00 PM flight to Chicago. Looks like the Madrid flight comes into Terminal A and she leaves from Terminal B. Think she'll really have time to get out, see her friend and then get back in time for 6:00 flight?

She'll have enough time as long as she doesn't see her friend for more than an hour.

I will be flying from Quebec City via USAirways Express connecting in PHL for flight to Charlotte , I have one hr and 25 minutes to make my connection, do I have enough time and what terminal are both of these flights arriving at?

All terminals are connected, so you'll be able to travel between all of them in time for your flight. Your first flight will arrive in Terminal F, and your second flight will depart from Terminal A-East,B,C, or F, depending on the aircraft.

i"m arriving PHL by QR727 at 7.55AM and my connecting flight is at 10.15 AM US Airways to CLT. Could you please confirm whether the connection time is sufficient and what are the check-in process? Do I need to take out the checked in luggage and recheck them? What is the average time (including transfer time for checked in luggage and recheck them) to move from TA West to TC?

Tosay I will arrive on a flight from Zurich and I will have one hour and thirty minutes between my arrival and the departure of my flight to indianapolis. What terminal will i arrive in? How will i get to my indy flight? What is the customs procedure with my checked luggage? Both flights usairways.

1 to 2 PM on a Sunday is semi-peak at the airport. It is off-peak when it comes to LIRR pricing. Lots of Europe flights come in at that time. There are LIRR ticket machines in Jamaica station. You shouldn't have to wait more than 20 minutes. You can pay with card.

On Oct. 17th I will be flying from Rome to PHL USAirways FLT 719 at 3:45 pm. Hopefully my arrival is on time. I need to be on the USAirways FLT1998 to Tampa at 5:55 pm. Is this enough time to get through immigration and back to luggage and customs and recheck and security? Is it a long run to get to the next gate?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your flight to Tampa will likely depart close to where you will go back through security.

Can anyone help. We have a group of 10 flying with some nervous fliers and young children. With some reports of long cues and slow customs at PHL there is some concern. We will be arriving from Manchester, England on US Airways with 2 hour turnaround before a US Airways flight to Orlando. Any ideas of which terminals these flights will be using and whether we will have to go through customs at PHL, do we need to collect baggage and will we have to go through security before the connecting flight? Any insider tips that might help? Thanks for the information.

You will arrive in Terminal A and depart from A or B/C, which is all connected. Yes, upon arrival in Philadelphia you will go through US Immigration, collect your baggage, go through US customs, then re-check your baggage with US Airways, then you will go up to the departure level and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

I am flying from Montreal YUL to Doha with a connection at PHL. Layover time is 2 and half hours. Do I need to pick up my luggage and check in again after landing in PHL?

If your tickets were purchased together then your bags should be checked through to Doha and you won't have to do anything with them in PHL. You will pre-clear US Immigration in Montreal.

I'm flying into PHL from Indianapolis at 20:54 with a connecting flight to LHR at 21:50 - these are the times US Airways gave me. Can I make the connection in this very tight time? I am very worried that I'll miss my connection as I don't know my way round PHL.

You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. If your flight from Indianapolis arrives in Terminal F you'll have to take a shuttle bus to your departure concourse but you should still have enough time.

  • PHL Terminal transfer from ? to F. Do I have enough time?

Hi. I'm flying from Orlando MCO (US Airways) to Montreal YUL (Canada) with a transfer in PHL. I don't now at what terminal I will get off the first plane, but I know the second one is at terminal F (Air Wisconsin dab US Airways Express). The ticket says that I will need to check-in with US Airways at Terminal F. Will I need to go through security again? Customs (Hopefully not)? Is a 1h15 layover time enough?

While you will arrive at Concourse A-East, you need to take the US Airways shuttle bus departing from gate A1 to Terminal F, gate F14. You have enough time, no security check needed.

  • FRA - PHI - LAX - how do I change the flight in PHI?

I'm flying with US Airways flight 701 from Frankfurt to Los Angeles with stop-over in Philadelphia. Recently the stop-over has been changed into a plane change... I'm not sure if I will have enough time - around 120 minutes and it says that I will land at Terminal 2 and take over from terminal 3. Does this mean I will have to exit through immigration, take my bags and reenter? Taking into account that I fly in basing on a VISA, I remember that the queues tend to be long as hell... Any hints?

Your customs clearance will be on arrival at PHL, which does not have numbered terminals, but Terminals TA through TF. Two hours is plenty of time for transfer (Open www.ifly.com/phl & click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', then scroll down to the detailed text.

Thanks a lot for that comment. I'm still a bit concerned that the line for immigration clearance for non-US citizens may make it impossible to make it within two hours... but - we'll see. Do you maybe know if there is a website where I'm able to check in advance which terminal does the first flight arrive at and the second leaves?

I'm flying from Raleigh Durham to PHL and have 1,5 houres to catch my flight to Amsterdam (AMS). Will this be enough time?

If flight is on time, transfer time of 1.5 hrs should suffice. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/phl then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

Flying from ORF to Africa with transfers in PHL and Qatar. Should 1.5 hours be long enough for the transfer from domestic to international? On the way back, I would assume I need to get my bags and recheck them for my international to domestic transfer, but I've heard rumors this isn't necessary in Philly. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, 1.5 hours will be plenty of time on your way over to Qatar. On the way back, yes, you will have to claim your bags to go through customs and then re-check them.

  • 20 minute connection flight

I am thinking about flying with U.S Airways down to Knoxville from Chicago with a 40 minute connection time in PHL. Would I have enough time to make it from my gate to the connecting U.S Airways flight in time?

It doesn't leave much room for delays, but it's possible, barely.
