  • ORD to STT via PHL

Hello -- I am contemplating taking an AA flight that connects in PHL. My inbound will come in from ORD, and we need to connect to our flight to St. Thomas. Is 42 minutes enough time? Wondering how close or far these gates are likely to be. Thanks in advance for your help!

Both flights will probably be in A or B, so not too far from each other. It's enough time if the flight from Chicago is on-time, but doesn't leave much time to spare if it isn't.

would be also 1 and half hour enough to get through the same issue ? thank you

  • Connecting Flight to CLT

Hi, I will be arriving to PHL from DOH with my family and i have a time of 3 hours approximately to connect a AA flight to CLT, do I have to get the checked luggage and take them again to terminal of domestic flights? is the time of 3 hours OK to finish all needed procedures?

I forgot to mention that my booking is from DOH to CLT thru PHL and it has the same E-Ticket Number, would that mean that my checked in luggage will be collected directly in CLT? or should I go in PHL, collect and re-check them again? thank you.

You will arrive in Terminal A, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • 1h30 transit in Philadelphia airport to Canada, flying from Madrid

I will be flying from Madrid to Toronto, transiting Philadelphia. I have bought "on single" ticket, bu not sure if time is enough for transit, and if the luggage must be picked up and then registered again in the my final flight.

You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

My itinerary is Paris to Philadelphia on American Airlines and Philadelphia to Seattle on Alaska Airlines

Time probably isn't an issue, but going in and out of security is drag. I will be flying on American Airlines out of Paris. 3 hours later, I catch a flight to Seattle on American Airlines. What process will I go through in terms of customs and then getting checked in on Alaska. Will I already be checked in on Alaska, when I initially check in on American? Is there any advantage to checking or not checking my luggage?

Assuming both tickets are on the same reservation, You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal A or B. If you don't check bags then you don't have to claim and re-check your bags.

  • Connecting flight to Orlando

We are flying into PHL from London and then connecting with a flight to Orlando. We are UK residents so have to go thru immigration before making our way to the gate. It looks like we have about 1 1/2 hours from scheduled landing to take off.. Is this enough? Never been thru PHL before

You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal A or B. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Flying from MAD to PHL, connection to LAS

Hello, my parents are travelling on May from MAD to LAS with American Airlines, with a 3 hours layover in PHL. I do not know which terminals will they be arriving and departing, and if they can have some language assistance. They do not speak English, only Spanish. Do they need to take their checked luggage and move it to another counter? Thank you.

They will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal A or B.

I have 1 hour 19 min to transfer after the flight from RDU-PHL to go to FRA. Is the connection time will be enough? Thanks for the info.

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks a lot for your answer!

We have a layover in PHL 1 hour 30 min layover then connection to Boston. Is this enough time to go through customs, recheck bags and get to our Gate. Both flights are with AA.

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Enough time?

I will arrive Domestic by Republic Airline from DAC at 04.53 pm and depart International to Munich by AA at 06.35. Is this enough time? and will the luggage be checked through?

DAC is Dhaka, Bangladesh. Anyway, I'm guessing your coming from DCA. Yes, that is enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your baggage. There is no US Customs when exiting the US.

  • 45 Mins enough time? F to A

Coming in From MHT to PHL on way to PUJ. I am told we will be landing in F terminal. We obviusly will fly out of A west. Going from one end of the airprot to the opther. Will I have enough time? How often do the shuttles run?

The shuttles basically run continuously. You have barely enough time. However, also note that in the current schedule most MHT-PHL flights (those operated by the E-170) do not arrive in Terminal F.

Thanks for your quick response ZAP. I ahve been watching, and a good number go to B or C, howver my flight in in July. I called reservations and they looked ahead and said it will be going into F. Hopefully the CS rep is incorrect or the gate will chanfge. I have seen a few later on in the day go to F. I have the first flight out of MHT at 5:05am on a Sat morning. I am just planning my course of action for the worst case senerio. What schedule are you referencing? I ahve been using the one on AA.com Thanks

I am using the current schedule with actual flight operations through flightaware.com If your flight is operated by an E-170 aircraft it will not arrive in F as the gates there can't accept that aircraft. From what I can tell the 5ish AM MHT-PHL flights in July are all operated by the E-170.

I am flying from LAX to Dublin, with a stopover in Philadelphia. I only have 1hour and 45 mins stopover. Will I have enough time? I'm an Irish citizen so I'm wondering if I will have to recheck my baggage? My connecting flight is with the same airline company. And be also rechecked at boater control, customs and immigration?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • 47 minute layover (ART-DFW)
    Mar 4, 2016

I have a 47 minute layover with American Airlines. I'm departing from ART (Watertown, NY) at 7: 15 a.m. and arriving in my connecting city PHL at 8:49 a.m. and then heading to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) only 47 minutes later at 9:36 a.m. Is this flight connection possible?

It's possible, but depends on the flight from Watertown arriving on-time. You will have to take a shuttle bus from Terminal F where you arrive to your departure terminal. If you do miss your connection there are plenty of opportunities for them to rebook you to DFW.

if we go through customs in boston AA and our connecting flight at phl to aruba is with same airline is 35 minutes enough time and will we have to go through customs again

There is no US Customs when exiting the US. All you have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your flight from Boston is on-time but obviously very little to spare.
