  • 50 minutes from F to A ?

Hi, This Friday I'm traveling from BGR to PHL then to LHR. I'm landing in PHL terminal F at 7:55pm and scheduled to depart from terminal A to LHR at 8:45pm...this gives me 50 minutes. Is this enough time? Any advise as to quickest way between terminals? Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated..Thanks!

American runs a shuttle bus inside security from F to A. You have just enough time as long as your flight from Bangor is on-time.

    Thanks for your time..

Hi folks, flying into Philly with about a 2 1/2 hour connection to Richmond. Understand that I'll be changing from terminal A-F and will need to collect bag, clear immigration and customs and then recheck. My question is, do I stay airside during all of this (secure) or will I need to queue for security when I get to terminal F? Return trip is the same in reverse, any pointers appreciated.

You will go through security in A after you clear customs and re-check your bags and then take a shuttle bus to F. On your return you only have to take the shuttle bus from F to A. There is no US Customs when exiting the US. You should have enough time.

  • 70 minutes for international connection?

I had a 3.5 hour layover, but just received notice that our first flight was switched as we only have a 70 minute layover. We are flying from Toronto to Philly to London. We arrive Philly in Terminal F and depart in Terminal A. We won't have to go through customs in Philly, correct? Is 70 minutes enough time??? Boarding for European flights is supposed to start 50 minutes before, although I know that we don't need to be there right at the start.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. When you arrive to PHL you just have to take the shuttle bus to Terminal A and board your flight. You should have enough time.

Hello, I am will arrive at Gate A3 at 4:15PM next Friday 25th , my other flight will be 6:PM at gate F , We have to clear immigration and customs, Any advice ?

That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. You will have to take a shuttle bus to F after you clear customs, re-check your bags, and go through security.

  • 100 minutes to connect after International Flight

Hi, I have an AA award ticket that recently had a time change for my incoming international flight. I now have only 1 hour, 40 minutes to get my luggage, clear customs and immigration, go through security and connect to my next flight. In December this took over 3 hours. In June, will 100 minutes be enough? AA claims it is a legal connection and there's nothing we can do until the "day of". Any advice?

It is a legal connection. They basically are correct. If the involuntary schedule change was significant you can request a refund and rebook.

Thanks! The change was under a half hour, but took away any comfort level I felt. The problem is we booked last summer when Business Class awards were available and they are not to be found now to our destination. Let me ask: there was absolute chaos among the employees in December on where we should be placed in the security line (that connected us to our domestic flight) . . . people were missing their connections left and right . . . I believe international arrivals were being put into the incorrect security lane . . .if this happens again, do we have any recourse to get in a shorter line (other than asking other passengers to skip ahead....really don't want to do that)? THANKS!

If you have a business class ticket you should be able to use the priority line in PHL.

Hi my daughter will be arriving at Philadelphia via AA at 2:38 through Terminal A east, and her connecting flight is American Eagle through Terminal F at 3:35. Can she likely make the connection and what is the easiest way to reach Terminal F from A?

Where is she arriving into Philadelphia from? Terminal A and F are connected inside security by a bus.

Hello, arriving from Los Angeles. I was wrong - she arrives at Terminal C. I finally found a decent map and can see there is a shuttle service within the secured area. Now if only the original flight arrives in time! Thank you for your reply. Does anyone know if she will have to re=check her bag - she purchased the tickets together through AA, and the connecting flight was sort of packaged with the first ticket. It's with American Eagle.

She won't have to do anything with her bag in PHL.

I am arriving at PHL in from Montreal at 8:36am to catch a flight at 11:15am. Will 2h15minminutes be enough time/will I be in a big rush?

That should be plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal F it is connected to the other terminals inside security by a bus.

I am arriving at PHL in Terminal F Gate 23 from SCE at 10:38am to catch a flight in Terminal A Gate 8 to DFW at 11:35am. Will 57 minutes be enough time/will I be in a big rush?

That should be enough time. There is a shuttle bus inside security from F to A.

We are flying from Dublin aa flight 723 to Philadelphia - 2 hours later Philadelphia to Miami aa 1142. Is 2 hours enough time for immigration/customs etc?

You will pre-clear US Immigraiton and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

    Thank you!

  • ORD to STT via PHL
    Mar 18, 2016

Hello -- I am contemplating taking an AA flight that connects in PHL. My inbound will come in from ORD, and we need to connect to our flight to St. Thomas. Is 42 minutes enough time? Wondering how close or far these gates are likely to be. Thanks in advance for your help!

Both flights will probably be in A or B, so not too far from each other. It's enough time if the flight from Chicago is on-time, but doesn't leave much time to spare if it isn't.

would be also 1 and half hour enough to get through the same issue ? thank you

  • Connecting Flight to CLT

Hi, I will be arriving to PHL from DOH with my family and i have a time of 3 hours approximately to connect a AA flight to CLT, do I have to get the checked luggage and take them again to terminal of domestic flights? is the time of 3 hours OK to finish all needed procedures?

I forgot to mention that my booking is from DOH to CLT thru PHL and it has the same E-Ticket Number, would that mean that my checked in luggage will be collected directly in CLT? or should I go in PHL, collect and re-check them again? thank you.

You will arrive in Terminal A, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • 1h30 transit in Philadelphia airport to Canada, flying from Madrid

I will be flying from Madrid to Toronto, transiting Philadelphia. I have bought "on single" ticket, bu not sure if time is enough for transit, and if the luggage must be picked up and then registered again in the my final flight.

You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

My itinerary is Paris to Philadelphia on American Airlines and Philadelphia to Seattle on Alaska Airlines

  • To check or not to check

Time probably isn't an issue, but going in and out of security is drag. I will be flying on American Airlines out of Paris. 3 hours later, I catch a flight to Seattle on American Airlines. What process will I go through in terms of customs and then getting checked in on Alaska. Will I already be checked in on Alaska, when I initially check in on American? Is there any advantage to checking or not checking my luggage?

Assuming both tickets are on the same reservation, You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal A or B. If you don't check bags then you don't have to claim and re-check your bags.

We are flying into PHL from London and then connecting with a flight to Orlando. We are UK residents so have to go thru immigration before making our way to the gate. It looks like we have about 1 1/2 hours from scheduled landing to take off.. Is this enough? Never been thru PHL before

You will arrive in Terminal A, go though US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to their departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal A or B.
