  • Connecting to NYC

Hello, I am landing in Philadelphia (PHL) from Quebec City (YQB) at 12:29pm, and my connecting flight to New York (LGA) is at 13:49pm. I risk having secondary questioning at customs. Do I have enough time?

Yes, I would say this will be difficult at best.

Thanks for the reply! I will give a few more details : My flight from Quebec City arrives at terminal F and my flight to NYC departs at terminal C. I only have 1h20 layover time and I must go through customs so I doubt that I have enough time. I am flying with American Airlines and they said I definitely have enough time... Do you think It's almost impossible?

I have an inbound international flight, Frankfurt to Philadelphia with a 1 hour connection before boarding (1 hour 30 minutes before outbound flight departure) going to Chicago, a domestic flight. Is this going to be enough time? I do not know which gate the inbound will arrive to and where the outbound flight will leave from.

That is barely enough time if everything goes smoothly as long as both tickets are on the same reservation. If you do miss your connection due to a delay, American flies very frequent flights from PHL to ORD.

My elderly mother (90 yrs.) is flying from BUF to TYS connecting in Philadelphia. Her connection time is 1 hr. 25 min. I requested a wheelchair (she can walk-but with difficulty). I don't know the 2 gates. Will someone (AA employee) take her in wheelchair to her connecting flight...and is that enough time?

Yes, someone will take her and yes, that should be enough time.

    Thank you.

Arriving in PHL from Israel (American Airlines) with 1 hr 25 mins before boarding starts (1 hr 55 mins before departure) for the flight (Southwest) to Chicago. We will have checked bags. Enough time? Thanks!

No, that is not enough time. By the time you have cleared US Customs you will likely have missed the Southwest bag check cutoff. You need to rebook your Southwest reservation for a later flight.

    Thank you!

  • Dublin - Philadelphia - Newark

Hi, I will be flying American Airlines from Dublin to Newark with a layover in Philadelphia. My layover is only 1 hour and 20 minutes long; will this be enough time? Will I clear customs in Dublin? If so, what will be the procedure when I arrive?

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Dublin. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will arrive in Terminal A and depart from Terminal F. American runs a shuttle bus between terminals inside security.

  • Possible to meet up with long lost friend?

Hi all. I am travelling into PHL, arriving in terminal D (Alaska Airlines) at 4:40 pm. My long lost friend who I haven't seen in 25 years is travelling to Europe leaving from Terminal A (British Airways) at 6:40 pm. We'd love to say a quick 'Hi". Does this seem doable given customs etc.? If so, where would it make sense for us to meet? Any tips are very much appreciated.

There is no customs when leaving the US. As long as your flight is on-time. You could meet her in the lobby of Terminal A from when you arrive until about 5:30 or she could get to the airport early, go through security, and then meet you at your arrival gate. All Terminals at PHL are connected inside security.

Hi we are arriving with American airline from Halifax , NS , Canada and we are flying America airlines to Orlando and we have 1 hour is that enough time and we don't no what gates we are arriving from or departing from .

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Halifax. You will arrive and depart from Terminal A, B, or C. All gates are connected inside security and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • Time to clear customs and security in Phl

Hi, we are flying from London on 26th December via Phl and onto Fort Lauderdale arriving and leaving from Terminal A with 1,hr 30 mins turnaround time. Is this enough to clear customs and security.

That is barely enough time. Also be aware that your flight to FLL could depart from Terminal A, B, or C, however they are all connected inside security.

  • Concerned about making 2nd flight

I'm going to from Orlando to New Haven with a layover in Philly. If there are no delays, my first flight should land in Philly at 12:41 in terminal C. My connecting flight is in terminal F and leaves at 1:30 (doors close at 1:20). I only have a carry on, so I know I don't have to go through baggage. I also know I have to get on the shuttle, and I don't have any security check points. But will I still have enough time to make my 2nd flight?

Yes, as long as your flight from Orlando is on-time that should be plenty of time.

I am flying into Philadelphia tomorrow morning from Charlotte. And my final destination is Portland, Maine. I have 35 minutes btw flights and it looks like I arrive in Terminal B and leave from Terminal C. Is this enough time?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

    Great. Thanks so much!

  • LGA to PHL to Manchester UK

We are travelling tomorrow from LGA and change at PHL for onward to manchester UK. Our holiday company booked flights to only allow a 50 min connection time!! Wghen in PHL will we have to collect and recheck bags and go through security etc?? And is there going to be enough time without missing the flight

All you have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no Passport control upon exit of the US. If you arrive in Terminal F it is connected to the other terminals by a shuttle bus inside security.

Hi, I am liking at a flight from New Orleans, LA to Montreal, Quebec during June. The connection is through PHL...with the arrival gate at terminal C and the departure gate at terminal F. Is 44 min enough to get from gate to gate?! Will I have to worry separate security, passport review, etc in that timeframe?

You don't have to go through security or passport control in Philadelphia. You will go through Canadian immigration when you get to Montreal. However, in Philadelphia you will have to take a shuttle bus from your arrival terminal to Terminal F. It runs inside security. You barely have enough time with that connection time.

Hello. I am scheduled to land at 11:20 in Terminal F and then my next plane leaves at 12:10 in Terminal A. Do I have enough time to make the connection?

I had a similar connection a year ago but had an arrival at 5:05PM and a departure at 6:00PM. The bus from F to A was painfully slow and I ended up running to the gate and just made my flight. You may make it in 50 min, it all depends on the bus - good luck!

Can I check in and drop luggage off at Terminal B if leaving out of Terminal A-East? If so, how much time should I allow for this?

On overhead maps it looks like there is a bridge between Terminal B and Terminal A-East prior to security? Is this accurate. Leaving from A-East very early AM, thinking of staying at that Marriott in Terminal B and not having to go outside to get from B to A-East.

You can just go through security in B and then walk to A.

Will there is an issue with my checking my baggage at Terminal B even though I am leaving out of Terminal A-East?

If you are flying US AIrways you can check your bags in Terminal B no problem. If you are flying another airline, then yes, you will have to go to Terminal A. The International counter is in Terminal A, but you should be OK using the counter in B. If for some reason they refuse you it is a very simple walk from A to B, even if you briefly have to go outside.
