I'm flying Manchester to Phili then on to Orlando both flights with AA. Landing in terminal A and departing from C.
Do I need to collect my bags ? Or just walk to my departure gate after immigration?
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
I don't understand we have this same flight and we where told as it is a connection flight they move the baggage along??
You have to claim your bags to go through US Customs. That's the procedure. You will re-check them right afterwards.
We have a flight into Terminal F with a connection out of Terminal A-West. We only have 40 minutes for our layover. Is it faster to walk or take the shuttle?
If you are fast walkers, walk, if not, take the shuttle.
Hello,
I'm coming from Bangkok with Qatar Airlines, passing through Doha, and also stopping in Philly. Finally, I need to catch my Montreal connection and I have only 2h20 stop.
Is it enough to get my luggage, pass through Customs out, then check in my luggage and pass through Customs again and get to the gate in time?
Thank in advance
To add more relevant info. I'll arrive at Terminal A from Doha. I believe the flight to Montreal, Canada is also at Terminal A. Is it even required to do the check-out/customs and check-in/customs given it's in the same terminal? Thanks
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate, which will probably NOT be in A.
Hi Zap. Thank you for reply. I mentioned leaving from terminal A because today, when i looked for the flight numbers both were in terminal A.
In any case, that's not so important as it is making the flight? Do you think it's possible?
Thanks again
Yes, I think it's possible.
I will be travelling from Doha via Qatar Airways landing in Terminal A. I have a connection for 3.5 hours. My final destination is Ottawa Canada via American Airlines. Will I be required to do security - check baggage out and recheck them in or will my customs immigration take place in Ottawa ?
Yes, in Philadelphia you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time. If you are from a nation that requires a visa to enter the US, you will need a US Transit Visa.
International flight to Dublin. Arriving in PHL Terminal F and have 1:10 before departure from Terminal A. Is this enough time? I am told the terminals are not close to each other.
Yes, that is enough time. There is a shuttle from F to the other American terminals. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi, I am travelling from Manchester UK in may to Indianapolis and have a connecting flight to catch in Philadelphia I have just had notification of flight time change leaving me 1 hour 40 minutes to catch the connecting flight, the airline say this is enough time but I was just wondering if anyone could help with if they think it is.

I think I arrive in terminal A and have to get to terminal F through security, baggage claim and security again this will only be my third flight and am bringing someone with me on their first flight so neither of us are very good at airports many thanks for any help.
That is enough time. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate.
Thank you
Hello, I'll be flying from Los Angeles to PHL in April, late afternoon and have about an hour and 40 minutes between that flight and my next flight to Paris. Will I need to collect my bags and go through customs before my flight to Paris? Is this enough time?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. If both flights are on the same reservation, all you have to do on your way to Paris is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
is an hour enough time to catch connecting flight to Toronto, coming in from Lexington?
Yes, all you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I will be flying from Toronto to Philly, with a further connection. When I land in Philly, I will go through customs there and then do I collect my luggage or will that automatically go to my final destination?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on American.
I will be landing at Terminal D @ 5:18 PM and my connection at Terminal F @ 6: PM. There is almost 40 min. between each flight. Do I have enough time to walk or take the shutle?
No flights to San Juan leave from Terminal F, so you have the terminals mixed up. If both flights are on American, you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have just enough time.
Thank you, I was wrong. Arrive at Terminal F, but departure is from Terminal A. OK
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
