    I am flying US Air from Atlanta to Seattle. I have to change planes in Phoenix with 1 hr and 10 minutes. Will this be an easy transition or am I going to have to run to make connections?

    If your first flight is on-time you'll have enough time without having to run.

    I arrive PHX @ 9:55 am on SW - depart @11:35 on US Airways. Will I have time to pick up my luggage from SW, and check-in with luggage with US Airways in time?

    If your first flight is on-time it should be enough time, but any delays and you could be in trouble.

    We arrive in PHX on Southwest at 6:35am and depart on Hawaiian at 8:05am. Is that enough time to transfer terminals, including time to pick up and recheck luggage and security. Single dad traveling with three young teens.

    Thanks for your response- if we just brought carry ons would that be a reasonable amount of time to transfer? Can you provide specific directions on transfer between the two terminals. Thanks

  • US Air 30 min connection?

    My family and I (2 small kids) have a 30 minute connection between a domestic flight into PHX and an international flight to Costa Rica, all on US Air. Seems a little tight a connection for a long planned vacation. Any advice? US Air thinks it's fine. Should we take three hour earlier flight to PHX and play it safe.

    Yes, I would take the earlier flight to be safe. 30 minutes is doable, but with any delay you'd be spending the night in Phoenix and not Costa Rica.

    My daughtr (18) is flying 1st time alone from ATL-PHX-Palm Desert on united. Are all United gates close to each other in PHX or should I seek assistance for her? thx, nervous Mom

    She will arrive at & depart from PHX from the same Terminal 2, which has separate gates 1 to 13 and gates S & D near shoeshine. On arrival at PHX, she should look at the overhead screens to find her connecting flight and gate number. Piece of cake!

    Note that United doesn't fly EITHER of those routes (I assume you mean Palm Springs, there's no such place as Palm Desert). Your daughter is probably on US Airways. It's fairly easy to make connections on US Airways in Phoenix.

    United flies to Phoenix, but they do not Fly Atlanta-Phoenix or Phoenix-Palm Springs.

  • Transfering terminals

    Looking for a little help. Flying from Newark to Kauai via Phoenix. Coming in on United and have a little over an hour layover before flying out on US Airways. Looks like I may have to transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4. Will I have enough time?

    Yes, you will have to go from terminal 2 to terminal 4. If you have bags checked make sure they check them through to LIH in EWR - as long as your flights are all on the same reservation they should. It's doable to make the connection in an hour but if there are any delays whatsoever it could be a problem.

    US Airways uses Terminal 4 - your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival should indicate terminal / gates.

    Your arrival and departure terminal is determined on which arline you take. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/phx and click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text below the map. 35 mins transfer time is hardly enough.

    You arrive & depart from the large Terminal 4 - after security checkpoint, moving walkways connect all gates A - D on three sides of the food court: US Airways uses gates A1-14 & A17-30 & B1-14. Southwest uses gates C1-20 & D1-D8. Check on arrival the overhead screens for your connecting gate. You have enough time.

    US Airways uses Terminal 4, using gates A1-A14 & A17-A30 and B gates B1-14; just follow signs - you have enough time.

    You arrive & depart at PHX Airport from Terminal 4, at C gates (C1-20). Just walk over to your connecting gate.

    At PHX you arrive at, and depart from, Terminal 4, B gates (anywhere between gates B1 & B22). You have plenty of time.

    On arrival at T2 of PHX Airport you need to exit the terminal and catch the shuttle bus at the curb to T4 where you need to go through security checkpoint A for US Airways gates A1-A14 & A17-A30; or through security checkpoint B for US Airways gates B1-B14 - the overhead screens will indicate your gate number. No time to waste!

    I am flying Southwest and see that it comes in at Terminal 4. I only have 35 minutes between flights. Will I have enough time? I don't hae the exact gates yet.
