  • Making a Connection in time
    Nov 23, 2015
I am flying into Phoenix on Dec 19th with AA flight #457 getting in @10:05am and Departing on AA flight #584 to Edmonton, Alberta Canada @11:15am. I have a lay over in Phoenix for 1hr 10m will this be enough time to make my connection? and will I be leaving from the same terminal or should I swithch to a different flight with 2-1/2hr connection time.

All American Airlines flights are in the same terminal. All you have to do in Phoenix is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

Thank you for the information I will continue with my booked flight

i am flying in on southwest on DEC second and changing planes, my connecting flight is also southwest are the terminals in the same place i have 50 minutes in between will i have time, never been to this airport before.

Yes, that should be enough time as long as your first flight is on-time. All Southwest gates are connected inside security.

I am flying into Phoenix dec 29 arriving 8:10pm leaving on southwest flight to LAX 9:05pm no checked luggage will I make it?

What airline is your first flight on?

American Airlines coming from Ft Lauderdale

Yes. It's possible as long as your first flight arrives on-time and you check in for your southwest flight online.

  • Getting from terminal B to terminal 4
    Oct 31, 2015
I am flying in to PHX on 4/20/16 on flight 443 from Boston arriving at approx 9;05 am and need to get to terminal 4 for flight 692 to Honolulu which departs at 10:35. Will I have enough time

Phoenix doesn't have a "Terminal B" what airlines are you flying?

  • Transfer from Southwest to United
    Oct 25, 2015
Albq. to Phoenix on Southwest on Oct. 30th arrives at 10:15 a.m.....United Airlines flight leaves Phoenix 11:43 a.m....1 1/2 hours to get luggage at baggage claim, cause Southwest doesn't transfer bags, and get to United to check in bags, go through security, and get to gate...will probably already have boarding this enough time? Will we have to change terminals to get to United? If we have to change terminals, what's the best way to do it with luggage? Thanks

Yes, you will have to change terminals. There is now a train in Phoenix that connects the terminals outside security. You have barely enough time.

  • Long enough Layover

Is arriving from DFW on flight #452 at 7:35am and departing for Long Beach, CA on flight #5649 at 8:45 am possible?

Yes, that should be fairly easy. All you have to do in Phoenix is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Transfer from BA to US Airways
    Jan 8, 2015
Considering travelling to Flagstaff via Phoenix. Arriving with BA from Heathow and then on to Flagstaff with US Airways. Roughly 2 hrs 40 mins in between and I think these are both Terminal 4. Sound feasible?

Yes, that should be quite possible.

  • Time for connection?
    Dec 30, 2015
Arriving 9:25 on Southwest. Must go to baggage claim and then to U S Airways and check-in for 11:15 to Santa Barbara. Are those 3 destinations close enough for easy connections? Thanks

It's enough time but there's very little to spare for any possible delays. Both airlines use Terminal 4 but you will have to go to the departure level and to the other side of the terminal. If your flight is more than a half hour late you won't make your connection.

  • 43 minute connection time
    Dec 17, 2014
Booking a ticket on US Airways from SFO to Cancun with a 43 minute connection. That seems very tight to me, but since it's directly available on the US Airways website, who am I to argue? Never been to PHX, so no idea how big the terminals are and if international is separate, that sort of thing. Is that connection time too tight? Bags would be checked through to CUN, so it's just a matter of getting from one gate to the other.

All US Airways gates at PHX are in the same terminal. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 43 mins is enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • 60-70 min layover
    Dec 6, 2014
Will we have enough time to catch our connection? US airways flight lands at 6:50am and our connection is Hawaiian Airlines at 8:00am. Super nervous.

It's barely enough time if you don't have checked bags or you purchased your tickets together. It will be difficult for you to get the bags to Hawaiian before their bag cutoff if you have checked bags and purchased the tickets separately.

I booked it together so the bags will go to the final destination. Guess we better run since they are being less than helpful moving our flight to the day before :(

  • Cancun to PHX connection
    Oct 24, 2014
We have an 1:30 layover arriving from Cancun to PHX on Saturday after Thanksgiving, both flights are US Airways, arrival 7:36 p.m. do we have enough time to clear Customs, gather our bags, recheck, then make our connection? I know this is busy season so I am a little concerned. We are a family of 5 in the middle of the plane. Thank you for your advice.

Saturday after Thanksgiving shouldn't be too bad and Phoenix doesn't have many international flights. You should be OK.

Thank you! Definitely don't want to end our vacation in a stressful situation. Appreciate you taking the time to respond. Enjoy the day.

I am arriving in PHX on US Airways and departing on United with a 1 hr 30 min layover. Will I need to exit the secure area to change airlines ? Will I have enough time to do so ?

Yes, you will, United uses a different terminal from US Airways. 1 hr 30 mins should be enough time but doesn't leave much time to spare.

  • 50 min layover

I am flying from Salt Lake City to NY via Phoenix. I land at 8:58pm and depart again at 9:50. is 50 min enough time to make connection on a US Airways flight from SLC to American Airlines flight to EWR? No baggage to check. Both flighs in terminal 4. Thanks. Teenager travelling solo.

Both flights will be US Airways. You should have plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • American Airlines connections
    Sep 22, 2014
I am considering a flight from Seattle to Phoenix which gives me a 44 minute layover to catch a connecting American Airlines flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. Is this enough time to make my connecting flight? Are American Airlines gates all in the same area and inside security so that we don't have to go through security again? Will this be enough time to get connecting flight?

Your flights will actually be operated by US Airways (assuming they haven't fully merged with American by the time of your flight). All US Airways gates at PHX are connected inside security. That should be enough time but doesn't leave much buffer for delays.

We are British Passport Holders flying from Vegas to Cabo with a 1hr 9min connection in Phoenix all flights with US Airways - is this enough time & will we have to collect our baggage at Phoenix & check it in again? First time in USA & first time on internal flights so not sure how it works? Thank you

No, you won't have to collect your baggage or do anything in Phoenix except go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will go through Mexican Immigration and customs when you get to Cabo.
