    SPECIAL NEEDS

    Wheelchair
When checking in for your flight to Phoenix, notify the airline that you will need a wheelchair on arrival; also advise the flight attendant during your flight that the request has been made. Passengers flying out of Sky Harbor an ask for a wheelchair from a Sky Cap at the curb, or request one from a Sky Cap or the airline on the ticketing level of the terminal.

    Paging System
With the new paging and information system at Sky Harbor, visitors can send and receive messages at Paging Assistance Locations (“PALs"). The names of those being paged are not only announced through speakers inside the terminal, but are also displayed on monitors throughout the airport. This method allows both visually and hearing-impaired passengers to send and receive pages.

    "Family Restrooms"
PHX Airport has installed adult changing stations in family restrooms, providing people with disabilities, and their caretakers, a comfortable and private location to change clothing or disposable undergarments. Each terminal has at least one station. Travelers can ask for directions at any information desk.

2nd Pet Park Now Available for Passengers Traveling With Pets
Passengers traveling with pets through the Airport have another place to give them a bathroom and water break. The “Paw Pad” just west of Terminal 3 is officially open to the public.

The first Pet Park, next to Terminal 4, is called the “Bone Yard” and was so popular that another one was requested for those travelers using Terminal 3. The Paw Pad is a fenced area for dogs to stretch their legs after a long flight. It offers water spigots and bowls, “mutt mitts” for cleaning up after a pet and, of course, a red fire hydrant. The park is attractive with paw-shaped decorations adhered to the fence and a framed archway at the entrance.

Access Guide for People with Disabilities
Curb cuts , Crosswalks, Sidewalks , Level entrances, Automatic Doors, Elevators, Ramped access to all lobbies and gate areas, Wheelchair-accessible telephones, automatic teller machines, restrooms, and drinking fountains are located throughout the terminals.

Designated areas on inner curbs are located outside all terminals to enable vehicles with disability plates or placards to load or unload easily.

The Transportation Security Administration now handles all security screening issues. If you have questions please visit the (TSA) Transportation Security Administration website.
