Present and future Airport developments:
Ongoing construction on the bridge and taxiway project
includes a 9.4-mile stretch of I-73 from Bryan Blvd. to US 220 (US 220 is to eventually run from Detroit to Charleston, S.C.). A key component of the project is a bridge, which is to be part of a new taxiway - intended to attract more airlines & add to Triad's hub more companies. Both bridge & taxiway developments are to enable the Airport Authority to open the 600 acres of land it owns for development.
