Acores Ponta Delgada - PDL, or John Paul II Airport, is the Azores island chain's busiest airport and serves the island of San Miguel and its city of Ponta Delgada. San Miguel is the most populated island of the Azores (part of Portugal’s 'Autonomous Region of the Azores' - an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean).
PD Airport is located 3 km west of the city of Ponta Delgada. It is open daily 5am /or two hours prior to first flight departure, and closes midnight 12:00 /or after last flight of the day.

NOTE: It is recommended that you check-in for flights inside the Schengen Zone 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure; for non-Schengen flights within Europe 2 hours, for all other countries 2.5 hours. Check with your airline if you can use self-check-in counters in the terminal or check in electronically or by phone.
