PWM AIRPORT & FLIGHT STATUS

Portland Jetport PWM Airport Overview

Portland International Jetport PWM is the Airport in Maine - not the Airport in Oregon. It is mostly referred to as 'Jetport' and is open 24/7, however ticket counters open 5am (some open Sundays at 6am). Jetport is a modern airport that has retained a small-town Maine atmosphere.  Compared to large & hectic Boston Airport, Jetport is offering more affordable airfares.

The Airport is located 5 miles or a 15-minute drive from the city of Portland, State of Maine, and is situated between the Maine Tpk I-95 (Exit 46),  I-295 (Exit 5B), and Congress Street & Western Avenue. For direct access from the north or south, take the Main Turnpike Exit 46; from I-295 southbound, take Exit 3 and turn right on Route 9 / Westbrook Street.

With two runways and an estimated 1.7 million passengers in 2012, Jetport is served by some major, minor and low-cost airlines offering year-round and seasonal nonstop and connecting flights to East Coast cities and to Nova Scotia, with connections around the world.
AirTran continued operation to Baltimore until April 14, 2013;  when Southwest started service of nonstop flights to Baltimore-Washington Airport BWI and to other US Airports.
Monthly charters are offered to casinos in Atlantic City, NJ and Tunica, MS.

NOTE: Air and ground traffic reaches its height during the summer season, when Easterners flock to Maine on vacation. During this time it is advisable to make prior reservations for transportation and parking. Also note that no curbside check-in is available at present.

Portland Jetport has one passenger terminal: (For more information, please refer to 'Terminal Map' page.)

If you are picking up a passenger at Jetport, use the free cell phone lot outside of the baggage claim area. Stay with your car until your party calls - then give them your space number so they can meet you there.
