Porto OPO Airport Overview
Porto Airport OPO, officially known as Francisco de Sa Carneiro Airport, or Porto Airport, has recently received ACI's second-best European Airport award for Service Quality.
The Airport is located in Moreira, about 11 km northwest of the city center of Porto, situated on the Atlantic Coast of Portugal and within the municipalities of Maia, Matosinhos and Vila do Conde. It is accessible by Highways A28/IC1 (Auto Estrada Porto-Carminha), A41/IC24 (CREP), and A4/E82 (Auto Estrada Porto-Amarante).
With a long runway and an estimated 6 million passengers in 2012, Porto Airport is a base for Ryanair and a focus city for TAP Portugal and is served by a host of domestic, international, regular and low-cost Airlines offering direct flights to all points of Europe and the Americas, along with charter flights to popular vacation destinations.
Check-in options now include self-check-in automats, online check-in for certain airlines, and mobile check-in.

The very modern passenger terminal at Porto Airport has three levels: Note that 400 meters of travelators were installed along the concourse's arrivals channel on level 1 - giving passengers the option of walking or taking a travelator istead.

Parking options at Porto Airport:
1. P0, the 2-level parking garage is close to the Arrivals & Departure Halls and intended for short- & medium-term parking.
2. P1, an outdoor parking lot, also close to the Arrivals & Departure Halls, is intended for short- and medium-term parking.
3. P4 outdoor parking lot is for short-and long-term parking and is a little further away from the passenger terminal.
4. P6, an outdoor parking lot, is about 6 minutes from the Arrivals & Departure Halls, and intended for short- and medium-term parking.

To get from Porto Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi, the Light Rail, or a bus:
1. Taxis charge their fare by taxi meter. However, aside from the additional highway toll, there is a 20 percent surcharge for Mon-Fri 9pm-6am and for weekends/holidays, which will be added automatically on the taxi meter. Larger pieces of luggage cost extra; so does telephone reservation. Tipping is up to the passenger.
2. Metro's Violet Line runs 6am-1:30pm and takes you to the following city stops, including railway stations: Casa da Musica, Trindade Station, Campanha Station, and Dragao Stadium; the trip takes 23 to 35 minutes.
3. STCP Lines 601, 603 & 604 run between the Airport and the City center, for more information open the site at stcp.pt.

4. Resende Bus Line 120 runs between the Airport and the following towns: Santa Cruz (near church); Leca da Palmeira (near church), Matosinhos (near market), Guifoes (near church) and Cusoias.
4. The Vigo Bus (operated by Transportes Autna) has four daily departures (Mon-Fri 9:45-7:45), and one departure each on Saturday at 9:45am and on Sunday at 7:45pm, from the Airport to Vigo, Spain.
