PortoAlegre Filho POA Airport Overview
Porto Alegre Salgado Filho International Airport POA serves the state of Rio Grande do Sul and its capital city of Porto Alegre in southeast Brazil.
The Airport is located in Porto Alegre's Sao Joao district, 10 km from downtown Porto Alegre. Motorway 290 connects to Av. Sertorio, which connects in turn to Av. Farrapos and Av. dos Estados - follow Airport sign.
With an extended runway and an estimated 8.3 million passengers in 2012, Porto Alegre Airport is served by domestic and international airlines offering flights to cities on the Continent, as well as to Portugal in Europe.
Porto Alegre Airport has two passenger terminals - T1 & T2 (or TPS-I & TPS-II). The two terminals are at different locations - T1 is at Av. Severo Dulius with a CEP code of 90.200-310, while T2 is on Av. dos Estados, CEP code 90.200-000. However, both terminals are situated close together.
Terminal 2 had been completely overhauled and reopened in 2010, while a new Terminal 1 was opened in 2001 with a shopping mall.
Airlines at Terminal 1: Aerolineas Argentinas, BQB, Gol, NHT Linhas Aereas, Avianca, Pasaredo, Pluna, Taca Peru, TAM & Trip;
Airlines at Terminal 2: Azul and Westjet.
Amenities and services inside the terminals: Aside from a selection of food & drink and retail concessions, you find the following: Information desk Infraero (tel. (51) 3358-2903. Lost & Found (51) 3358-2903. Currency exchange (Alternativa Turismo e Cambio at (51) 3371-4861 or Casa Brasil Cambio at (51) 3358-2384); pharmacy Drogabel (51) 3358-2577, postal service 3371-4523.
Other services include internet access, banks, ATM cash machines, foreign currency exchange, pharmacy & first aid station, baggage wrapping, shoeshine, travel agencies, and more.
Parking is available in the parking lot across from the terminals. For parking information call (51) 3358-2449.
Rental car companies have counters in the arrivals area. You can call the following agencies directly at (51) 3358, adding the following numbers for: Avis 2260, Hertz 2472, Localiza 2045, Locaralpha 2627, Modiva 0400, Unidas 2375.
To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or a bus. The Taxi cooperative Cootaero can be contacted at (51) 3358-2500

The Metro station serves the the greater Porto Alegro area; the subway platform is close to Av. dos Estados, opposite the Airport.
