Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport AMA is located approx. 2 miles north of East I-40, and 7 miles from downtown Amarillo, in the Texas Panhandle. The Airport was named after after its native sonn Rick Husband, the NASA astronaut who died in the Columbia shuttle. The Airport covers an area of 3,547 acres with 2 runways and is served by the American Eagle, Continental Express, & Southwest, offering non-stop flights to a good number of major airport, with connections around the world. The Airport office is located on the 2d floor of the passenger terminal and is open Mo-Fri 8am-2 noon and 1pm-5pm.

The passenger terminal has recently been renovated and expanded and is now a state-of-the-art facility with improved passenger services, security, concession services and baggage claim operations.  Four rental car agencies do business at the Airport.

A three story parking garage is next to the terminal building providing 654 covered spaces; off-street parking is available with 790 spaces. Outdoor parking is $4.35/day; garage parking $6.50/day; both fees include tax.
