    Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport AMA is located approx. 2 miles north of East I-40, and 7 miles from downtown Amarillo, in the Texas Panhandle. In 2003, after its native man Rick Husband, the NASA astronaut, died in the Columbia shuttle, it was renamed in his honor. The Airport covers an area of 3,547 acres with 2 runways and is served by the American Eagle, Continental Express, Southwest, offering non-stop flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Albuquerque, Denver and Las Vegas, with connections around the world. The Airport office is located on the 2d floor of the passenger terminal and is open Mo-Fri 8am-2 noon and 1pm-5pm.

    The passenger terminal has recently been renovated and expanded and is now a state-of-the-art facility with improved passenger services, security, concession services and baggage claim operations. A three story parking garage is next to the terminal building providing 654 covered spaces; off-street parking is available with 790 spaces. Outdoor parking is $4.35/day; garage parking $6.50/day; both fees include tax. The Airport has a A U.S. Customs Department port of entry; for questions or assistance, call the Port Director at 806-335-3533. Four rental car agencies do business at the Airport.
