  • Geneva-Tirana flight, connecting in Rome, fast way to get from T2-T3

Hi! I have a return connecting flight from Geneva to Tirana, through Rome Fiumicino. For the trip Geneva-Tirana, I reach Terminal 2 and have to catch my other flight in Terminal 3. I have 1:30 mins of time to do this. On my return trip, I arrive in Terminal 3 but need to get to Terminal 2. I have 1 hour to do this. I am travelling with hand luggage only. How far are the two terminals? Which is the quickest way to go for this? Thanks, Nita

It is a very easy walk between T2 and T3, you should have plenty of time on your way to Tirana. On your return from Tirana it will be much more difficult as you will have to go through Schengen Immigration, then make your way to T2. However, you should be able to check in for your Easyjet flight online which should save some time.

  • transit gates H to D in Terminal 3

I am travelling standby with Air Canada from Rome to Toronto. If I don't get on the Air Canada flight I will travel with British Airways to London Heathrow. Both airlines depart from Terminal 3. Is it possible to get from the H gates to the D gates without going through security and passport control for a second time?

Made a mistake BA departs in Terminal 3. Is Terminal 3 gates G and H? If so is it possible to walk from one to the other without going through security and passport control again?

Yes, you should be able to.

On your trip to NY if both flights are on Alitalia you won't have to do anything in Rome except perhaps go through security. You have enough time for both connections.

Arriving in FCO Rome from Catania via Vueling Air at 9:30 am and then to US via US Air at 11:30. Which terminals? Is there any passport control in FCO or just security check? How about timewise- is there enough time. Thanks.

You will not have to go through passport control in FCO as Catania is also in the schengen area. However, to check in for your US AIrways flight you will have to take the Shuttle bus to Terminal 5 where you will check in and go through security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

My wife and her sister are flying to FCO arriving on Flight 720 at 9:45am and have to transfer to Air Malta Flight 613 departing at 11:00am. Can they make the transfer, and what is the procedure? Thanks for any help, Herb Sherman, TX, USA

It will be nearly impossible for them to make this transfer. They should not have booked it.

  • Transfer form Delta to Alitalia

My Delta flight arrives at terminal 3 in Rome at 7:30 am. Upon arrival I will proceed to terminal 1 to catch a 9:20 am flight on Alitalia to Terana Albania. I MUST go to an Alitalia kiosk at the Rome airport to check in for my flight. Can I accomplish this with a 1 hr and 50 min layover? Also, where will I find the nearest Alitalia kiosk?

Did you purchase your tickets together? If so Delta should be able to issue your boarding pass for your Tirana flight and check your baggage through to Tirana. Also, if you purchased tickets together, as Albana is outside the Schengen area, your flight will not depart from Terminal 1, but will depart from Terminal 3 and you may not even have to go through schengen passport control to access your second flight.

Hi, this is my first time traveling to Italy. My flight plan is kul - fco (on qatar) - trs (on alitalia). 1) Can I check in for both the FCO and TRS flight from KUL? Or can I only check in for the TRS flight in FCO? 2) Can I check in my bags straight through to TRS from KUL? 3) I arrive at FCO at 12:40pm in T3 and my TRS flight is at 2:50pm at T1. Do I have sufficient time for the transfer? Thank you.

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? If together you will be able to check your bags through to TRS. You should have enough time for your transfer. You will go through Schengen immigration as you go from T3 to T1.

I purchased my tickets separately. Will I be able to check my bags through to TRS?

Then you probably will not and it will be hard for you to make your transfer on-time.

I am flying Delta 240 into Rome FCO on Sept 21. The flight is supposed to arrive at 7:30am in Terminal 3. I have a connecting Atalia flight in Terminal 3. Is it difficult to go between terminals. Is there a shuttle

You can walk from your arrival in Terminal 3 to Any Alitalia gate (T1 for Schengen, T3 for non-schengen).

Hello, I will take the AZ785 from Tokyo NRT to FCO, and later take the AZ1473 to VCE with about 2 hours 20 minutes (+- 30 minutes depends on the situations) for transition, is the time enough ? Thanks !

From T3 to T1, baggage would be directly sent to VCE I think.

  • Terminal 5 to 3 in one hour?

Arriving on usair at terminal 5. Need to checking and get a boarding pass from vueling in terminal 3. Will I have time?

You will not arrive in Terminal 5 - no flights arrive in Terminal 5. It is a departure only terminal. You will arrive in Terminal 3. However you will have to go through Immigration and customs. by the time you do this you will be past the check-in cutoff for Vueling. You need to get a later flight out of Rome.

  • Terminal 3 to 5 connection
    Sep 9, 2014

I recently searched the internet prior to my connection in Rome (FCO) from terminal 3 to terminal 5. There is so much misleading information that I feel my summary might be helpful. My trip took me from Athens on Aegean Airlines to Rome and then continuing on US Airways to Philadelphia. I was arriving in Terminal 3 and told that all flights depart from US from Terminal 5. Some reports on here suggested 3-4 hours needed for the transfer. First of all, if you are have checked your bags ALL the way to your final destination at the origin (My bad was tagged to PHL in Athens), and you have a boarding pass for your connecting flight in Rome, you DO NOT NEED TO EVER ENTER TERMINAL 5. Terminal 5 is only for passengers who originate in Rome. When I landed in Terminal 3, I followed the signs for connecting flights which took me to G gates where my flight for US departs. Connecting from T3 to T5 took me about 20 minutes. I hope this is helpful.

Yes, that is correctt. Thank you for your experience.

I arrived from Moscow to FCO. I have a connection to Atlanta in the morning. I checked my bag all the way to ATL. So, I went through a security check, but not passport control. Did you have to go through passport control when you were transiting? I am sitting near the H gates now, waiting for the morning. I am a bit confused. I already have my boarding pass for the Delta flight.
