My husband and I are scheduled to fly back to the US the morning of Saturday, September 29th from FCO at 9:40 am on American Airlines. We want to visit Paris the last few days we are in Europe, and there is a flight (on another airline) that would arrive at FCO from Paris at 8:30 am on that same morning. Would that be enough time to make our flight back to the US at 9:40 since we will have already been through security? Would only allow us 1 hour and 10 minutes, even if our flight from Paris is on time.

Or is that totally unrealistic, and should we just fly back to Paris late Friday night to be on the safe side?
Oops........I meant should we fly back to ROME late Friday night.
I will be flying from Chicago into Rome (FCO) on Delta (operated by Alitalia) on Sunday, August 27, arriving at 7:30 AM. I have a connecting flight to Athens on same airline (at a different terminal) leaving at 8:45 AM. I will have checked baggage and am U.S. citizen. My questions are: 1) Do I pick up checked baggage and take to next terminal or will this be done automatically for me? 2) How long will it take to enter the European Union? 3) What can I expect to happen? Thanks in advance!
You won't have to claim your bags in Rome. All you have to do is follow signs to your departure gate. You will go through Schengen Entry passport control on the way. You should have enough time.
I'm flying into Rome from US (BOS) and connecting to CTA (same airline). Since I'll have a checked bag, how much time should I allow between flights to ensure my bag arrives?
I would want at least 90 minutes.
We get into fco at 2:30 sept 10 on American and have a 5:55 Alitalia flight to Marco Polo. Separate tickets /only carry on.
Is that enough time between? Is terminal 1 and 3 far apart?
That should be enough time. They aren't far apart.
Thanks! I was starting get nervous and wonder if I should have taken a train to Venice.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, Zap.
Arriving from USA at 8am on Delta with connecting flight to Naples departing at 9:40am on one reservation. Is that enough time to clear customs and make connecting flight?
Yes, that should be enough time.
Hello - we will be flying in to Rome on American Airlines on September 23, 2017, with only carryon baggage. This flight arrives at 7:35. We are looking at an Alitalia flight to Trieste that leaves at 9:15. Is there sufficient time to make this flight, as the tickets will be purchased separately and not as part of one itinerary?
I think that would be fairly risky.
Flying from the USA on American to Rome, arriving 9:15; separate ticket on Vueling to Palermo; are they both in Terminal 3? After picking up baggage, we will go to Vueling check~in; how much time to allow before catching flight to Palermo?
Yes, they are both in Terminal 3. I would want at least 2.5 hours between flights.
Thanks so much!
We are flying into Rome from Catania on Sep. 4th arriving FCO at10:35 our flight to Toronto leaves at 14:05 will this be enough time to collect our luggage/switch terminals/check-in for international flight?
Yes, that should be enough time.
I will be flying Delta into Rome from the United States in late September. How much time should I allow to get through customs and catch an Alitalia flight out of another terminal to Verona? I will have carry on baggage only.
2 hours would be what I recommend.
The person making arrangements for me is now telling me that I won't go through customs until I reach Verona...
Is that possible (the second flight is apparently a Delta flight operated by Alitalia)? And if so, how much does that change the time allowance?
Arriving 7:45 AM on United from EWR and need to make Alitalia flight to Florence at 10:25 AM . What's the fastest way to get to other terminal?
