    Oct 5, 2015
Hi there, I am arriving at FCO from Canada at 1pm on terminal 3 and have a flight to Madrid at 2.30pm from terminal 1. Does it leave me enough time to catch the next flight with the passport control, security etc. Both flights are on same reservation with Alitalia Societa . Thanks

    That should be enough time.

  • US Airways to Vueling connection
    Sep 30, 2015
Land at 9:45 am from Charlotte NC and next flight to Catania on Vueling leaves at 11.35. I think both flights use Terminal 3. Do I have to leave gate area and go through customs and re-enter to catch the next flight? Will I have time to make the connection if so?

You will go through Schengen passport control when walking from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

A shuttle runs from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5. Does one run from Terminal 1 to 5 and how often? If not does one have to walk to Terminal 3?

You have to walk to Terminal 3. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are all very close on the roadway side.

  • enough time to transfer terminals, security, baggage
    Sep 16, 2015
I am flying from Toronto to Rome landing in terminal 3 at 10:45 am and connecting to a flight to Catania from terminal 1 at 1:00. Is there enough time to do this? Will I have to go get my bag and go through security again or will my bag be checked through? How much time does it take to transfer terminals? What is the best way to do this? Thank you for your help. LDG

Yes, that should be plenty of time. You won't have to do anything with your bag. Just go to your departure gate. You will go through Schengen passport control in rome.

  • Connection from Spain and an in-Italy connection
    Sep 17, 2015
Hi, my husband and I are flying on separate dates but each have 1.5 hours between flights at the airport, presumable from separate terminals. Scenario 1 - my husband will be flying from Barcelona to Rome, then connecting on to Toronto, Canada with 1.5 hours in between. Scenario 2 - I will be flying from Venice to Rome then connecting on to Toronto, Canada with 1.5 hours in between. As one is from Spain and the other is within Italy, will the time we have be enough? I don't think we will need to re-check baggage, but I'm concerned about security and/or passport checks along with switching terminals. Thank you!

The only check you will have to go through is Schengen Exit passport control which is a cursory process. You should have enough time if your inbound flights are on-time.

    Thank you!

  • Enough time?

Hi there, I am considering booking a flight originating from Venice to FCO, then on to Toronto (Pearson), all on Alitalia. One option gives me a 1 and a half hour layover and I was wondering if that was enough time to get between terminals, considering I probably don't have to get luggage. Please advise. Thanks!

Yes. That is probably enough time.
