My wife and I are arriving in FCO on USAirways and are leaving on Airmalta for Malta. We have 1 hour and 50 minutes and between arrival time and our departure with Airmalta, My wife doesn't believe this is enough time. We would appreciate any input/help can provide anyone

That should be enough time if the tickets were purchased together. Otherwise if they were purchased separately and your bags are not tagged through to Malta, it may be difficult to get your bags claimed and then to the Air Malta check-in desk and checked in time.

Us citizen flying from Athens to Rio de Janeiro connecting thru FCO, one way ticket, all Air Italia. Is 1 hr 40 min enough. Will I need to clear immigration or customs ? Assume checked luggage will not have to be dealt with as it will be checked on through to Rio.

Yes, that should be enough time. You will just have to go through Schngen exit passport control as you go towards your departure gate to Rio.

    Thanks for the info

Flying from naples to rome on Alitalia then rome to Atlanta on delta we have 11/2 hr to connect but do we have to go from terminal 1 to terminal 5 and then g for flight or just term1 to gate g? I am so confused!

No, your bags will be checked through to Delta. All you have to do is go to your departure gate in the T3 Satellite and show your documents to the Delta desk there.

    Thank you so much

I am planning a flight from Athens, GR to NYC-JFK for my niece in July. Is one hour sufficient to change from an Alitalia flight from Athens to FCO and then board the Alitalia flight to NY? Baggage would be checked through to NY. Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time. In Rome she just has to follow signs to her departure gate. She will go through Schengen Exit passport control on her route.

Hi, I will be flying in to Rome FCO from Dubrovnik on 18th April 2015. Arrival time is listed 13:10. I have a separately booked flight (Alitalia) departing 15:00. In theory the inbound flight should arrive at the same terminal the outbound flight is leaving from. Do you think there is enough time to get the luggage off the belt, exit arrivals, check-in and catch the outgoing flight? If no, will travelling with hand-luggage only work? Thanks in advance

Yes, that will probable be enough time either with or without checked baggage. But if you can go without checked baggage, go without.

I'm arriving from Atlanta on Delta at 9:50 AM and departing at 12:10 on Meridiana Airlines to Sardinia. I have separate tickets. Will there be enough time to make the transfer? Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time, if your bags are checked through to Sardinia just follow the signs to your departure gate, you will go through Schengen passport control on your route. If your bags are not checked through you will have to claim them and bring them to the Meridiana check-in desk.

My elderly father is leaving Rome Terminal 3 at noon and I'm headed to Greece Terminal 2 at 8pm. Can I be with my father until his flight then head to Terminal 2? Whether he goes through security at T3 and I T2 can I meet up with him, so I'll be with hime until his flight?

You can't go with him to his flight as you will not be able to go through Schengen exit passport control without a boarding pass exiting the Schengen area. The boarding areas are separate.

I will be arriving from Athens on Aegean Airlines at 10:00. Is it possible to make a US Airways connection at 11:20?

If you purchased separate tickets, no, that's not enough time.

Hello. I am making my travel plans early. I will arrive at FCO at 4:15am by bus from Pescara, Italy at either T1 ot T3. I would like to book a Lufthansa flight leaving aFCOt 6:40am to Frankfurt, and from there fly home to Orlando. I have a US passport. Is that sufficient time (presuming I am off the bus with my luggage by 4:30am to get through Passport Control, Security, check my suitcases, and board my flight? Thank you very much. Gina.

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

Thank you so much, and Happy New Year!

I am coming from Florence(Italy) in Alitalia and landing on terminal 1 at 19:45 pm. I have connecting flight Emirates to Dubai at 20:45 pm from terminal 3. I need to know if i need to claim the baggage ? how much time security check would take ? Is it possible to make everything in 1 hours. Appreciate your help.

i really need to know above questions answer,

If you purchased your tickets together you have enough time as your bags will be transferred to Emirates, you just need to RUN to the Emirates transfer desk. If you purchased two separate tickets you have no chance, you need to get an earlier flight to Rome.

Thanks ZAP. I have got the tickets together so my bags got transferred to final place. The moment i got down at domestic i started running and reached to skybus 7-8 mins (terminal signs are very clear, no need to ask) then 5 mins in passport control, Pretty much 15 mins i reached to emirates desk where i got the actual boarding pass and was in front of boarding gate. People kept coming i believe next 30 mins. So 1 hour is sufficient unless something happens unexpectedly

  • T3 to T1?

Hi I am flying from Abu dhabi to Rome to catch a connection flight to Tirana with Alitalia. The ticket says I need to change from T3 to T1 which means I need to get a schengen visa since a chinese national. But according to the immigration police that both flights are in T3. So I am confused. Do I need to go through passport control to get the connection for Tirana?

The Ticket is wrong, the Tirana flight will depart from T3.

Hi ZAP thanks for the answer. I am wondering how sure you are about my Alitalia flight for Tirana departing from T3? I checked the flight information on the airport website. It still says the flight for Albania depart at T1. I am arriving on a alitalia flight from Abu Dhabi and getting a connecting flight for Tirana. If I have to change terminal, does that mean I have to enter Italy as a tourist?
