I am travelling from Beirut to Barcelona via Rome, we will land in terminal 3 and the takeoff to Barcelona will be from terminal 1. We have an European Passport (french), and we have 90 minutes of connection in the Airport, will it be enough to make the connection

Hello I am arriving from Skopje at FCO in 7:20, and then departure for Barcelona at 8:30. I come from Macedonia, non Schengen conutry. Will I have enough time to make the transit?

That should be enough time, assuming both of your flights are on Alitalia or within the same alliance.

Hello, taking Ailitalia flight from jfk to rome with scheduled arrival time 6:35AM then want flight from rome to Santorini. There is one at 9:50AM out of terminal 3 on airberlin. Do we have enough time for that connection??? Will we have to clear customs and go through security again? Otherwise, next flight is at 5:40PM. Thanks for help

Yes, you will have to go through Schengen immigration, customs, and security. Also, Air Berlin does not fly from Rome to Santorini. That flight is likely operated by Meridiana.

However, 3+ hours should be plenty of time.

Flying from Beirut to Barcelona with 55 min layover in FCO I will land in terminal 3 and the plane will take off from terminal 1( flying both on Alitalia) is 55 min enough time, my luggage is checked in to my last destination

That will be very difficult. You will have to go through Schengen immigration and security after you arrive.

Thank you appreciate your prompt answer

In July we arrive from Mykonos with Easy Jet at 11.40am into FCO terminal 2, and connect to a Hop! flight departing from terminal 1 at 13.05. Do you think we have enough time to make the connection? Do we have to clear immigration?

That should be plenty of time. Since Greece, Italy, and France are all in the Schengen Area you do not have to go through immigration.

  • Transfer time advice- enough time or not for domestic transfer

Hello, I will be travelling from Sydney to Rome on Etihad Business class, arriving 6.25am on Christmas day. I am wanting to travel to Venice that morning (separate itinerary) on Alitalia. There is a flight at 10.10am I would like to take, as the next available flight is after 2pm. Do you think there is enough time to make that 10.10am flight (if my arrival flight is on or close to time)? I can't seem to find which terminal Etihad flies in to. Thanks.

That should be plenty of time. Your Etihad flight will arrive in Terminal 3.

    Thanks ZAP. Much appreciated.

2 hour layover in FCO. If I am flying into T3 and leaving out of T1 or vice versa, what is the best procedure for this? Thank you anyone for help!

You have enough transfer time. When connecting from gate to gate, follow signs to "Boarding Area" (gates B through H). Terminal 1 has Boarding Area B, Terminal 3 has Boarding areas D & H (D & H gates).

hi, we are flying brussels to rome with allitalia arriving at 9.05 am at terminal 1 and leaving to miami at 10.30 am with allitalia terminal 3 will there be enough time and which is the easyest way to get to terminal 3. we have 2 children traveling along. thank you

That should be enough time. There will be signs showing the way to your departure gate (you walk).

You arrive at Boarding area B whose B gates are on both ground & first level. Proceed to the ground level which connects Terminals 1, 2 & 3 to their respective gate areas (follow signs). Terminal 3 has Boarding Areas D & H with corresponing gates. Your transfer time should suffice. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/fco, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Connection from Dubrovnik to Santorini
    Mar 28, 2014

Hi, just needing some clarification regards to making a connection flight at FCO. We are flying Dubrovnik to Rome with Vueling Airlines. Arriving at 9.20am. We then have a flight to Santorini via Athens at 11am with Aegean Airlines. That's 100mins I've checked and both are Terminal 3. Obviously their separate tickets, so was just wondering, would that be enough time between to make the Santorini flight? Rome and Greece are both in the Schengen zone, so there's no passport check, just security. Is that right? Please let me know. Thanks.

As you had bought separate tickets, you may need to claim & re-check-in your bags, as well as getting a boarding pass for Aegean. Check with your airlines. (While Aegean belongs to the Star Alliance, Vueling does not belong to any of the 3 alliances.

  • Connection from Tel-Aviv to Frankfurt Alitalia flights

I am arriving in mid. July from Tel Aviv on Alitalia flight to terminal 3, connecting to Alitalia flight to Frankfurt Germany on terminal 1. Layover is 1hr 15min. On the way back, from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv ariving on terminal 1, departure from terminal 3 -layover is 1hr 30 min. It is the same booking and same ticket, issued by Alitalia. Would it be enough? Too risky in case of little delaey? Thanks Will we have to go through custums/immigration?

That should be enough time. You will have to go through immigration/customs in Rome on the TLV-FCO-FRA route.

  • Connecting from KLM to Croatia airlines

I am arriving on a KLM flight from AMS at 4:30pm and departing on a Croatia AIrlines flight to Split at 6pm. The airline said they should be able to transfer my bags to the Croatia Airline flight, but I will still need to check in with Croatia. Will I have enough time? Do I go to a transfer desk in Rome to check in for the Croatia airlines flight?

Yes, you have the procedure correct. You should have enough time, even if you have to go to the Croatia airlines ticket counter. Also, Croatia Airlines has web check-in. If you are able to, use that.

Arrive at FCO 9:25 am from Chicago in August. Will we be able to make a connection to Turkish Airlines flight at 10:55 am? That's 1 1/2 hours.

We're your tickets bought on one reservation or separate? That will be very difficult.

  • Connection in Rome from US to Naples
    Mar 18, 2014

If I am coming in from Detroit, US and connecting to Naples, will I have to claim my bags and go through Customs/Immigration, or will I be able to check them through to Naples and go through Customs/Immigration there? Would 1hr 15min be long enough if I need to go through C/I in FCO?

You will have to go through immigration. 1:15 should be enough time but is cutting it close. Luckily if you miss your flight there are lots of Alitalia flights from Rome to Naples.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Arriving from Newark NJ on United. Departing at a later date to Newark on United. Which terminals will I use and how much time will I need at departure

You will arrive in Terminal 3. On departure from Rome you will have to go to Terminal 5, which is just a building off to the side, where you will check-in and go through security. Then you are taken by bus to Terminal 3. I would plan on getting to Terminal 5 at least 2 hours prior to your flight, preferably 2.5-3 hours.

I will be flying into Rome on a Delta/Altalia flight from Athens into T-1. Bags will be checked through from Athens to Atlanta. Do I have to process through T-5 or can I go directly to the departing Delta gate at the satellite facility via T-3 train?

You do have to go to T5 as that is the only way you can board the shuttle that will take you to the satellite. However, there are reports of people who are able to get their DL boarding pass from Alitalia being able to go directly to the T3 satellite by following the signs and taking the train.

Thanks so much. I'll try to check and see if I can get all my boarding passes in Athens.

I would also mention that if you do manage to make it to your gate in the T3 satellite without going to T5 first, make sure you check in with the Delta gate there to make sure they don't mark you as a no-show. They may have to do a document check.
