US citizen arriving FCO on United direct flight from Dulles on a Saturday morning at 8am, has separate ticket on Alitalia flight to Venice at 10:10am with NO checked luggage to collect. United says flight will arrive at Terminal 3, and I believe flight to VCE departs from Terminal 1. After passport control, can one simply walk to Terminal 1 gate, or must we exit, then go through airport security line again?

I am flying in from LAX at 6:50am and leave at 8:20 am for Catania. Can I clear passport and customs in Catania? Or is that not Possible. I booked the flight thru Alitalia. both ways.

You must go through Schengen Entry passport control in Rome. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I'm flying from venice to Atlanta through Rome. Same ticket. My reservation says I arrive in Terminal 1 and leave from Terminal 1. I have a 1 hour layover. Will I need to go through passport control if my flight is coming in from the same country? With 1 hour be enough if I have to go through passport control? Arrive in Rome around noon on a Monday. Thx!

Your departure gate won't actually be in Terminal 1, it will be in Terminal 3. You will go through Schengen Exit passpor control as you go to your departure gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

See below post--neglected to add departure o DL 65 at 12:20 PM for total connect time allowance of 2hrs 10 minutes if all on time

That will be difficult with checked bags, but not totally impossible if everything goes perfectly.

agree it's too tight and DL requires a check in 2 hrs before flight time. Won't work which is too bad Thx for the response

. I am due to land in Rome at 12:55 from Pisa (Terminal 1, Alitalia) and my international flight leaves Terminal 3 (Emirates, Terminal 3) at 3:25 pm. I only have carry on. Is that enough time? Where is passport control?

Schengen Exit Passport Control is when you enter Terminal 3. You have enough time.

  • Arrive 7:25am, catching second flight at 10:30am. Not same ticket.

Hi there, I was wondering if this is doable? 2Hrs and 55 minutes to collect bags, then customs and check in to a different airline flight? Do you recommend?

I shoud say that incoming is Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong and outgoing is RyanAir to Catania, Sicily.

I think it's just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

I will be going to Paris from Brazil with connection in FCO, both flights are operated by ALitalia and are bought on the same ticket. The arrival in FCO is scheduled for 7am and the departure for France at 8am

Yes, it's possible but doesn't leave much time to spare.

I am arriving at Fiumicino from Cagliari on Alitalia at 10:00 am. Will I have enough time to gather my luggage, check it in with United Airlines, and go through customs and make it on to a 1:20 pm flight? If not, how much more time should I allow?

That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • AA connecting to Vueling with 1:

Our American flight arrives Terminal 3 at 8:25am. Our Veuling #8103 is a connecting flight that leaves Terminal 3 at 9:50am. Separate PNRs, Carry-on luggage only. Can we walk between terminals? Is this enough time? I realize now how bad this planning was.

As to the above question regarding American flight transmitting to Vueling flight at FCO. I am a UK citizen. If i get my boarding pass does that help? Thank you very much.

You should just have to go through Schengen Entry passport control and go to your departure gate. You should have enough time. Getting your boarding pass ahead of time certainly will help.

I arrive in FCO at 8pm from Barcelona on Vueling. Connecting to Abu Dhabi flight on Etihad at 10 pm. Separate tickets. If I have carry on can I transfer in the transfer lane? How?

Yes, if you only have carry-ons you can go straight to the Etihad transfer desk, through Schengen Exit passport control, and to your departure gate and that should be enough time.
