  • From T3 to T2 in less than an hour?
    Jul 20, 2016
Hi, we will arrive in T3 around 7 in the momrning and the connecting flight leaves from T2 at 8.15. All within Schengen, but will continue from Rome with a domestic flight. Any helpful hints welcome indeed. Thank you!

Do you have checked bags? If so this will be difficult since you'll have to transfer them yourself to Ryanair. If not this should be enough time.

  • Terminal 1 to 3 In 45 minutes?
    Jul 19, 2016
I have an Alitalia flight from Malta that lands in FCO terminal 1 at 2pm and then Alitalia to JFK (USA) that leaves 245pm. This is a legal connection according to airline. Bags will be checked through. Will we have to go through passport control? And can we walk (run) between gates/terminals or do we need to take an airport shuttle? Family of 5 so really hoping to make the connection. Thank you!!

Yes, you will have to go through schengen exit passport control. Alitalia may call this a legal connection but it's not at all reasonable.

  • Is it enough time for baggage?
    Jul 18, 2016
I'm flying from Belgrade to Tokyo via Rome. 100 minutes in between flights at FCO (one connected ticket, I will check the baggage for Tokyo), so I am wondering will my baggage make it on the plane for Tokyo? Thank you in advance for your experiences.

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Connection between terminal 3 and 1 and stamping passport
    Jul 18, 2016
Hi, I have a flight from Amman to Spain that has a connection at Rome via ALITALIA, I have a shengen Visa that was issued by Spanish Consulate; I was told that my Visa should be stamped/Checked first by the country who issued the visa otherwise I might not get a new one in the future. My question, when moving between terminal 3 to 1 gate (b18), will the Italians authority check my passport ? will I be considered entering the Italian lands although I did not step out of the Airport ? and what is the passport control the people is talking about ? Appreciated

Yes, that is the passport control you will go through and the Italians will give you a Schengen Area entry stamp.

Thank you ZAP! Is it an issue for next time shengen visa application ?

It should not be an issue - they should have record of you entering in Italy and will have record of you exiting as long as you do so as prescribed by your visa.

I have a reservation from LAX to FCO to Catania, all on the same ticket. will I need to pick up checked bags to clear customs in FCO or will they simply be transferred to our next flight? How much time should I allow?

You won't have to pick up your bags in Rome.

thanks. do you think that 1 hour 2o min will be enough time to catch our connecting flight? thank you!

  • A3 to UA FCO Connection
    Jul 16, 2016
Flying ATH-FCO-ORD on A3 and then UA. One person on single ticket, one on separate tickets. Both will already have printed onward UA boarding passes in first class. Is it necessary to go to T5 or is an airside connection possible? Connection time is 2:40, no checked luggage.

  • Connection between terminals 3 and 5
    Jul 16, 2016
I am flying into FCO from PMO on Vueling. My flight lands at 7:20am. I am connecting to the US on United at 9:55am. Is this enough time with checked baggage? Thank you.

I think it's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thank you! I changed it to a 12:40 departure to be safe.

  • Connection between terminals 2 and 3
    Jul 15, 2016
I have Wed, 31Aug2016 Flight VY6603 Tallinn (TLL): 04:40 to Rome (Fiumicino) (FCO):07:05. It comes to Terminal 3. I have next flight from FCO to Catania – Flight 4852 Depart FCO at 08:30 and arrive CTA at 10:00. And it will go from Terminal 2. So I have 1 h and 25 minutes between flights. It is enough time for moving from T3 to T2? How I can move from T3 to T2? Do I need pass control zone again? I have only hand luggage and I don't need visa for moving between EU countries.

Vueling flights arrive in Terminal 3. Are you flying Ryanair to Catania? There will be no passport controls on your trip because it is entirely within the Schengen Area. If you already have your Ryanair boading pass you should be able to go directly to your departure gate.

Thank You for answer. Yes, I am flying with Ryanair to Catania. Ryanair informed that since 28. June Ryanair operate flights from T2. And I wondering will I have enough time for changing terminals.

I think you'll have enough time if your Vueling flight is on-time.

  • Connection Between Terminal 3 and 1
    Jul 14, 2016
Arriving FCO at 6:45 pm on terminal 3 (TK 1863) and i have Alitalia flight to Trieste at AZ 9:25 pm from Terminal 1 (AZ1363), Both are separate tickets. I have one checked in bag. If not possible with checked in. with carry on, do i have to go through security check again?? Please suggest or best way to connection between 3 to 1. Altough i prefer checked in.

You will have to go through security again whether you check a bag or not. If you check a bag you will have to transfer it yourself from Turkish to the Alitalia check-in desk in Terminal 1. You have just enough time.

    Thank you very much.

I am flying from JFK TO ROME, and then to Palermo. The layover is 2 hrs and 15 mins is that enough time to catch flight to palermo? Both flights on same ticket, do I need to go thru passport control and also re-claim bags? US/ITALIAN PASSPORT.

Yes, you will go through passport control but you won't have to claim your bags. You should have enough time.

  • What is the process
    Jul 13, 2016
Travelling with children, arriving on AZ 809 from Tel Aviv (arriving terminal 3) and departing to Miami on AZ 630 (also terminal 3) I was told I will need to take a bus which doesn't make much sense as both are in the same terminal, any advise from anyone?

You may have to take a bus to get to your plane, but before that all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

  • Transfer time

I am coming from Catania heading back to Amsterdam. Is 1 hour sufficient time for those with US passports to make the connection at FCO?

Yes. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Since Italy and the Netherlands are both in the Schengen Area there are no passport controls on that journey.

  • Venice to Rome to Atlanta
    Jul 10, 2016
I am thinking about booking a Delta flight from VCE to FCO to ATL I am worried the connection time at FCO is tight. I would only have an hour between flights DL6699 and DL65. Is this enough time to make the connection at FCO? I have only carry on bags and am traveling on one ticket.

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.
