  • Arriving Term 2 and need to get to Term 5
    Jun 20, 2016

I just got en email saying all Ryanair flights will be going in and out of Terminal 2 starting in July. I will be arriving on a domestic flight from Sicily at 8:00 am and need to get to terminal 5 for my return trip to the U.S which leaves at 12:00 noon. How do I get from the baggage claim of terminal 2 to the shuttle that goes from the departures level of terminal 3 to go to terminal 5? Are the arrival areas on the ground floor and the departures areas one level up? Are the terminals connected? Is it a long walk? Thanks!

  • Connecting T3 to T1

I am flying from Brazil to Rome arriving 07:15 at T3 with a connecting flight 09:00 to London at T1. Is it enough time? Will I have to go to passport control and how can I connect between terminals? Thanks.

If everything is on the same reservation you should not have to go through passport control and note that your London flight may actually depart from T3. Just follow signs to your departure gate.

    Thank you!

  • From T3 at 0640 to T1 at 0925 - can it be done?

My son will travel into Terminal 3 at 0640 with checked-in baggage from Buenos Aires, and depart on a seperate ticket from terminal 1 at 0925 to Belgrade. I understand he must collect luggage, go through security, walk to terminal 1, and re-checkin. He has 2hrs 45mins from the first flight landing to the second taking off. Two weeks later he will arrive from Belgrade at T1 at 19:35 and must depart to Abu Dhabi at 22:00 from T3 - 2hrs 25mins from landing to take off to collect baggage, go through security, walk to T3 and re-checkin. Will he have enough time on both occassions?

Both connections should be possible but don't leave much time to spare.

  • To cantania

Fly into FCO from US arrive at 10:30am. Have separate ticket to Cantania on same day. Do I go through customs and retrieve my luggage? Then check luggage again? Also, is there a pass I can purchase to help get through customs or check in at FCO any faster?

Yes, since you have two separate tickets you will go through passport control, claim your bags, take them to your second airline's check in desk, get your boarding pass, and go through security. You can get through check in faster by buying a business class ticket to Catania, though I doubt it's worth it.

Hi I am traveling from the TLV and landing in FCO at 13:20 and have another flight at 15:00 on Atalia Air to Barcelona. What Would I have to do? (passport control? Walk to Terminal 1? Security check?) Thanks

Yes, if both tickets are on the same reservation you will go through passport control and walk to Terminal 1.

  • enough time and process?

travelling from Philadelphia to Rome on American Airlines arr Rome 9:15am on June25--separate ticket on Alitalia to Florence departing 10:25 am...is this enough time? confused on whether we have to get our bags and go through another terminal again after passport control or not--how likely is it we will make the connection?

With checked bags that is not enough time. You will have to transfer them yourself from American to Alitalia.

  • Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 in about an hour?

Hi I am traveling from the US and landing in FCO at 7:45am and have another flight at 9:25am on Atalia Air with no checked bags (carry on only) I believe I will have to go from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 to catch the flight. I am a US citizen so will have to go through passport control and these are two separate tickets so I most likely will have to go through security again. Would I have enough time to catch my flight? Sounds like the steps are: 1. Get off plane 2. Go through passport control 3. Walk to Terminal 1 4. Security Line 5. Go to the Gate. Will I have enough time? Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You can check in online for your Alitalia flight and then you can go directly to passport control and your departure gate. You won't have to go through security.

Thanks for your response. I won't have to go through security again even though I have a separate ticket and am entering a different terminal?

Since you're coming from the US, no, you won't. Even if you don't check in online for your Alitalia flight you can get your boarding pass from the Alitalia transfer desk.

  • AUH>FCO>TXL

Had an hour and 15mins. connecting time in FCO from AUH going to TXL by Air Berlin. Is it enough and how to transfer from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1? Should I go through Passport Control or any checking? Thanks.

Yes, you will go through passport control and security and then to your departure gate. That is a difficult transfer.

It is difficult but possible? I don't have to collect my baggage. At which point may it be difficult and any advice so I can possibly catch my Berlin flight? Thank you.

Hello, I have flight 16.6.2016 from BUDAPEST to NEW YORK with transit in ROMA. Arrival to T1 at 8.45 and Departure from T3 at 9.40. Both flights on 1 ticket with Alitalia. Are 55 minutes enough ? Should I go trough passport control in ROMA? What skould I do in FCO? Just go from T1 to T3 to my departure gate?

In Rome you will go through Schengen Exit passport control and to your departure gate. You should have just enough time.

Schengen EXIT passport control is in my departure Terminal T3 or where should I go?

Yes, I believe you will go through it in T3 on the way to your departure gate.

    Thank you :)

  • Transferring through Rome Terminal 3 to Terminal 3

I will be departing JFK on Alitalia, and will be transferring to Montenegro Airlines which is code shared with Alitalia. It is one itinerary and luggage will be transferred to my final destination. Will Alitalia print me my connection flight boarding pass which is code shared. Also, what is my procedure in FCO? Will I have to go through passport control or security? Thank You

Alitalia should be able to issue both boarding passes at your Origin. Otherwise you can get it from the Montenegro Airlines transfer desk in Rome. You should not have to go through passport control or security.

I'm going to arrive in FCO at 6:50AM from Bangkok on Thai Airlines, and make a connection to Cagliari on Alitalia at either 9:30 or 10:55. I'd prefer to get the earlier flight; would 2.5hrs be enough to make the transfer? I'll have carry-on luggage only.

I am traveling O'Hare-FCO on Alitalia Business Class, connecting in 2 hours 30 minutes to FCO-Warsaw, also on Alitalia Business Class. Will have checked bags and U.S. passports. Will this be enough time?

I am flying from the USA and have a 1hr 5 min layover in Rome going to ATH. Will I have to go through passport control and security? In the rome airport, is there an expedited passport/security line for first-class? Does anyone know if these are in the same terminals? Thank you!

You will go through Passport control, but don't have to go through security. You will arrive in Terminal 3 but depart from Terminal 1 (assuming you are flying to Athens on Alitalia), but they are all connected.

  • Chicago / Rome / Zadar -- will i have enough time?
    Jun 6, 2016

My flight would get into Rome at 10:30 via Chicago/O'Hare. Then I would need to claim my baggage and go through customs and check-in for another flight on Vueling (booked separately) to Zadar, Croatia at 12:40 (including security screening again.) I would only have 2 hours and 10 minutes. Will I have enough time for all of that? Are the gates for these in the same terminal

That would be barely enough time. Yes, both flights will be in Terminal 3.

  • Is 55 minutes enough for my connection?

Hi, I will fly with Alitalia, I will arrive to FCO at 08:45 from Budapest to Terminal 1 and my flight to New York departs at 09:40 from Terminal 3. My flight tickets are on the same reservation. I have only 55 minutes to change planes (and terminals), do you think this is enough time? I am a bit worried that I will miss my second flight.

That should be enough time if your flight from Budapest is on-time.
