  • Connecting flights different reservations
    Sep 14, 2015
I'm flying from toronto, Canada to Rome through air transit. I land at 11:40AM and have another flight to Budapest at 12:40 PM with Vueling so a one hour lay over. Both these flights are in terminal 3. I have no baggage and just have a carry on. These are 2 separate reservations. I will already have a boarding pass printed for my flight to Budapest as I will check online prior to my flight. Does any one have any tips the fast way to navigate around terminal 3 to get to my second gate? Will I have to go through customs after landing and then go back through security to get to my gate for my Budapest flight? Any help is appreciated! This is on a Friday morning/afternoon. Thanks!

You will have to go through Schengen passport control but you should not have to go through security. This will be a very difficult transfer.

I arrive in Rome from the US in terminal 3. How do I get to terminal 1 to got to Ancona?

Just follow the signs to Terminal 1. You will go through Schengen passport control on your way.

That's what logic would narrate, but last May the signs lead to nowhere. Thank you for your reply.

There's a shuttle bus. if you don't have at least 90 minutes, preferably 2 hours, I think this will be very difficult.

I am staying at the Hilton Rome Airport and arrive in Terminal 5. I have to get over to the other terminals to get to the walkway to the hotel. How do I do this?

    There's a shuttle bus.

  • Help with short layover - Terminal 3 to Terminal 1
    Sep 5, 2015
Hello, Can I please get some advice about catching a flight after a short layover, 1 hour and 25 minutes? We are Russian flying in from Moscow with a Shengen visa, connecting to Reggio de Calabria. We arrive via Alitalia in Terminal 3, and the out bound flight is in Terminal 1. Will we have to go through Customs or Passport control in Rome? WIll this be enough time? Do we have to leave the transit zone of the airport? We are worried about making our connection. Whats's the fastest way to do this? Thank you very much!

Yes, you will go through passport control in Rome. Yes, that should be enough time. There is a walkway from T3 to T1 that doesn't require going out to the curbfront. Just follow the signs.

  • Connecting flight from dublin to cathay pacific to hongkong
    Sep 4, 2015
Hello! We're flying from dublin , Ireland with Aerlingus and we have a connecting flight to hongkong with cathay pacific airlines and our stopover is only 1 hour, is that enough for transfer?

Purchased on the same ticket it's barely enough time. Purchased on two separate reservations, no chance.

I am flying Alitialia from JFK to Rome in mid-September and then connecting to a flight on Alitialia to Tirana, Albania. What is the procedure once I arrive in Rome? How much time should I allow for this?

You should only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, but the airport is a mess so be prepared to follow a lot of confusing directions when you get there.

  • Staying airside at Terminal 3 without transit or tourist visa
    Sep 3, 2015
I am planning to travel from Delhi to Dubrovnik, Croatia via FCO, Rome. I will arrive FCO Terminal 3 by Air India and depart for Dubrovnik by Croatia Airlines from T3 iself. Croatia is a non-schengen country. The layover period is 23 hours. I have to claim my baggage which was checked-in at Delhi and get a boarding pass for Croatia too. Do I need to cross the immigration and show shengen Italian visa for doing that? Can I claim my baggage and get boarding pass while staying airside only? PS. I am going to return by the same route with 10 hour layover at Rome, so the same question again. Thanks

Yes, you need a full Schengen Transit Visa (not just an Airport Transit Visa) and you need one valid for both of your dates of travel.

If we are arriving in terminal 5 from USA and need to meet elderly couple arriving at terminal 3 from USA, what is best way to do that? will we get our bags and go through customs and then go to terminal 3 to help with their bags?

Yes, that would probably be best.

  • Arrival terminal to have driver pick us up
    Sep 2, 2015
Arriving in Rome 9/21/15 on Delta, from Atlanta, USA. What terminal will we arrive in? Driver service picking us up needs to know and cant find info on web. Thanks.

So right now I believe they are still using Terminal 5. But I don't know if they will still be using it for arrivals in September. There was a large fire in Terminal 3 (where you would normally arrive) in May and it's still messing things up.

  • LHR on BA to FCO arr16:20 connection for in-Italy flight?
    Sep 1, 2015
Hi, at the end of February2016 I'm flying into FCO T3 at 16:20 on BritAir (US citizen) and wonder if it will be OK to make a 18:50 flight on Ryan Air to Palermo #4906. Checked bags. Does Ryanair move their schedule around much? And, is Palermo still up and running at 20:00hr on a Friday night? Otherwise, I want to stay near the FCO airport and make a 8:30 flight on Ryan Saturday morning - can I get to the airport early enough? and what hotel, Hilton is $200 for a night!
