I am flying from Atlanta to Rome and have a connecting flight in one hour to Athens Greece. Do I have enough time toget my connection?
If both flights are on the same reservation that is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thank you for the response. The flights are on the same reservation so now I can hope all goes perfectly. Are the lines usually long like in Atlanta at FCO passport control?
It really depends how many other flights come in the same time as yours at FCO If you're traveling during the winter it shouldn't be too bad.
Hello. I will be flying from London to Rome with BA. Will I have to collect my bags in the airport and exit terminal to check in bags with Emirates? Or will BA / Emirates do the transfer for us so we can stay in the terminal and avoid going through immigration? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
If you have two separate reservations you will have to go through passport control, claim your bags, re-check them with Emirates, go through Schengen Exit passport control and security and to your departure gate.

Thanks for your response. We do have 2 seperate reservations. I will be travelling with my wife, who has Indonesian passport and child who has UK passport. My wife will not be allowed to exit as she does not have a schengen visa or visa for Italy. Can you suggest how we can deal with this? Would Emirates collect the bags for us if we check in at the transfer desk? Or would we be able to check in at transfer desk then I would exit to collect all our checked bags and check them in for all of us? Would I be allowed to check in my wife an childs bags without them there if I had their passports?
I really don't know. If your wife can't enter the Schengen Area, I really don't recommend this itinerary.
We have a connection in FCO with AirBerlin to Palermo. Will AirBerlin transfer our. bags, or if not, will we have enough time to make the connection? Or should we just go carry-on only?
What airline are you flying to Palermo? Are both flights on the same reservation or separate reservations?
I am flying in from dubai and need to transit through Fco to Lisbon . Assume will have to go through passport control as touching Rome first before Lisbon . I have no checked in baggage . Will 1 and 30 mins enough as transit time .
If both flights are on the same reservation that should be enough time.
No it's not in the same reservation . Have purchased the Fco to Lisbon separately . Don't have any checked in baggage . Is it still enough time ?
With no checked baggage you barely have a chance if the flight from Dubai is on-time. With checked bags you'd have no chance.
I'll be arriving at FCO/Rome in the evening at 20:45 and hope to take a flight to Palermo. The latest departure shows at 22:05. Will that give me enough time to get between terminals? I think the Dublin flight arrives in terminal 5 and ryanair to Palermo departs terminal 2.
You will not arrive in Terminal 5. No flights arrive in Terminal 5. What airline are you flying to Rome?

I am thinking to book São Paulo - Frankfurt with connection in Rome, since the airline is Alitalia. The only thing I am worried about is the tight connection time of 1h25min, is that enough? What do I need to after I leave the airplane?

You will go through passport control, security, and to your departure gate in Terminal 3. You have just enough time if the first flight is on-time.
American Air flight to Rome from US connecting to Aitalia to Florence. Separate tickets. Can bags be sent all the way to Florence from the States via Rome, without retrieving bags, going through customs and then re-checking into Aitalia ?
If you have two separate reservations you will have to claim your bags in Rome and transfer them yourself to the Alitalia check-in desk in Terminal 1.
In 2 weeks I fly from AMS to FCO, I will have 45 min to get from Terminal 1 arrival to Terminal 1 departure (FCO to CTA). This will be my first time with a layover. Do I have enough time?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Since all flights are within the Schengen Area there are no passport controls.
Connecting tomorrow in FCO arriving Alitalia at 7:40 AM from NAP connecting to American departure 11:15AM to CLT single ticket with checked bags will I have to recheck bags in Rome and will that be enough time to make connection?
Yes, that should be enough time. if it's a single ticket you won't have to recheck your bags in Rome.
Hello, this one is kind of long.
6 of us are arriving from Athens to FCO T3 via Agean Air @ 16:40. (with 6 checked bags)
We need to put 2 bags into storage at T3 for two of the travelers that will be returning 7(?) days later.
The (4) remaining bags and all 6 passengers need to catch a flight to Barcelona, leaving T2 @ 18:25 via Ryanair
So, we only have 1:45 connection time.
Would luggage from Agean normally transfer to Ryanair automatically? If so, how do we go about having those two bags stop in Rome?
Also, if we have to get those two, or all six bags, is that enough time to transfer? I thought it would be but wife is concerned. We're all young enough to hurry/run as needed, lol.
No airlines transfer bags to or from Ryanair. This is a very difficult connection because of the bags. Without the bags it wouldn't be an issue.
Thanks for the info. So, we will need to gather all of our bags, store the two, and bring the other bags to Ryanair check in. Will we need to go through security or other potentially long lines? Is the baggage claim right in T3, near the gates? Any details you could provide to help us along would be appreciated!!!
The baggage claim is not near the gates but it's not too far from the Ryanair check-in. Yes, you will have to go through security after checking in for your Ryanair flight.
