I am flying into Rome in September with AA from US. My flight arrives @ 9:05AM. I need to collect my luggage go through customs etc & then catch a flight to Malta with Air Malta @ 11AM. Will this be in the same terminal, do I have enough time to catch this flight. Not sure how much time I will need & how long it will take to get luggage.

That should be barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

    Is air Malta in the same terminal of American;

You will arrive in the non-Schengen portion of Terminal 3 and depart from the Schengen portion of Terminal 3.

My family is departing from Terminal 1 (FCO) while I am departing from Terminal 3 (FCO). Would I be able to walk from terminal 1 to terminal 3? How long it will take? I am trying to choose which flight will suit me depending on how long it will take me to go from one terminal to another.

Yes, you can walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 in less than 15 minutes but you cannot go into the non-schengen part of Terminal 3 without a boarding pass for a flight leaving Schengen.

if flight is due to arrive from Mykonos at FCO (vueling) at 9:10 am is there enough time to catch a 11:25 am flight (Aer Lingus) to chicago

Without checked bags, that's possible, with checked bags it'll be a bit difficult.

Hello, we are about to book a single ticket flight Airfrance from paris landing at rome at 09:20 and connect to 10:10 alitalia flight. -Is it enough? 50 min for connection? -Is there any procedure that we have to do about the luggages? Will they transferred by air france? Thank you in advance Burak

If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your baggage. Where are you flying to on Alitalia?

I m flying to Istanbul.. thank you for your response waiting for further comments

I'm arriving on alitalia flight from VCE, and then i have 1h30min to take an alitalia flight to SCL. Will that be enough time? Both flights are on the same tickets, and the bags will be checket to the final destination.

    That should be enough time.

How long should I allow to make a transfer between Easyjet arrival from (GVA) to Ryanair departure (PMO)?

With checked bags I'd want 2 hours. Without checked bags 60-90 minutes should be enough.

I am arriving at FCO at 7:45 am from Newark and want to book a flight to Naples at 10am. I guess we will need to arrive at the gate at 9am. Is this enough time?

SORRY - I forgot to add they will be on separate tickets

That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I arrive at 8:40AM on Friday from Israel on Alitalia - Terminal 3 -and am trying to catch a 9:30 Allitalia flight to Chicago also from Terminal 3. Is that enough time?

It's possible, but difficult. Pack an extra set of clothing to be prepared to spend the night in Rome if you miss your connection.

  • Connecting flight (international - Belgrade - Rome - Tokyo)

Hello, I will be arriving at Terminal 3 from Belgrade, Serbia at 13:40 and will be departing from Terminal 3 to Tokyo, Japan at 15:20. I have 1 hour and 40 minutes from one to another. Is it enough? What is the procedure? As far as I know I will have to go through Passport Control and security check, is that right?. My baggage should be checked in at the Belgrade airport for Tokyo, so I suppose I won't have to go and pick it up and check it in again. How big is the distance between arrivals and departures at T3? Anyone with the similar experience? Thank you in advance for answering.

Since Serbia is not in the Schengen area and you are not entering the Schengen Area you should not have to go through Passport control in rome. YOu just have to go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Looking to book a ticket on American - but the connections seem tight: arriving from JFK at 7:35 am into FCO, departing FCO at 8:50 am to Vienna, arriving Vienna at 10:25 am - departing at 11:25 am to Greece. Are those connections too tight? My bags will be checked through to my final destination. Thank you!

I think that initial connection at FCO would be difficult.

I fly from Abu Dhabi on Alitalia operated by ETIHAD and arrive in Terminal 3 in Rome. I have 1hr55m to get to Terminal one to fly out to Barcelona on Alitalia. Is that enough time? Same as coming back from Barcelona, I have 1h50m to travel from terminal 1 to terminal 3 in Rome going back to Abu Dhabi. Thank you for easing my mind.

That should be just enough time.

    Thank you

  • From Doha - Connect Cagliari

Hi, will be landing in FCO terminal 3 from Doha on 1.25. Connecting on a flight to Cagliari on Alitalia. Will I have enough time? Also, not sure if i cant check my bags through to Cagliari. If I can manage to check it through, will I be able to clear customs in Cagliari or will I need to clear in FOC and re-check in as the next flight is a domestic flight. Thanks

Sorrywasnt clear, landing in rome 1.25pm connectin at 3.05 pm

You will go through Schengen Passport control in Rome. If your bags are not tagged through to Cagliari you will have to claim them in T3, clear customs, bring them to T1 and re-check them with Alitalia. I think this will be a difficult connection

Hi thanks for the info. If I manage to tag the bags till cagliari, is that an option though. Seeing as the last leg is a domestic, wouldn't I have no choice but to go through customs in Rome. I would land in the domestic side (no customs) part of Cagliari right?

Passport control and customs are two separate things. At most European airports you don't even notice when you go through customs since they usually pre-inspect bags before putting them on the belt.

Thanks for the info! Found another flight landing at 12.30 followed by the 15.05 alitalia flight. This should be enough to get bags and re-check in right? Please advise.
