I am an AA Retiree and will be traveling in a few days, standing by for an AA flight. If i don't get on there is a US Air flight leaving to same destination about 1.5 hour later. can i get to US Air terminal by walking or is there a shuttle i can take? how long does it take to get from one B terminal to the C terminal if i do have to walk?

It's very walkable. you could easily do it in less than 15 minutes.

We arrive on a USAirways Express but leave from American Airlines. Can we use the shuttle service from North Pier to get to Center Pier where our American Airlines flight is leaving from, in order to avoid having to pass through Security again? We have a tight connection. Is the shuttle indoors or outside?

Is this at LaGuardia? Yes, there is a shuttle inside security - it is outdoors.

Oops, no...it is DCA, Washington National/Reagan in DC. I just assumed the questions were all about that airport, but should have been more specific in my question.

OK, the answer is the same though. US Airways operates a shuttle bus inside security outdoors.

OK great! Thanks so much. Since US Airways and AA are merging (which I guess is why AA is sticking us on a US Airways Express flight in the first place), will we therefore be allowed on the shuttle from Terminal C/North Pier to Terminal B/Center pier even though we are going to an AA gate? I'm just worried they will deny us using the shuttle because it's not "US Airways" to "US Airways," although we had no say in the fact that US Airways is servicing our first flight. Thanks again, much appreciated!

That shouldn't be an issue. They are making a point of making connections between AA and US as easy as possible.

Thank you so much for the info! We appreciate it!

I am traveling from Bangor, ME to DC and only have a 30 minute layover...the arrival and departure terminals are the same should this be a problem?

What airline? Where are you connecting?

US Airways...going to Orlando. I see it is the same terminal, but can't find gate numbers and I want to be prepared to make the connection.

All US Airways gates in DCA are connected inside security and close together, you have enough time if your first flight is on-time. You won't know exact gates until the day of your flight.

I am connecting with US airways from gate 35 to gate 23. The terminal map shows I may have to go through security. Is this the case? How much time do I need to do this?

That is correct. However, security lines at DCA tend to be short. You should be OK with a 40 minute connection, 30 minutes may be doable.

There is a shuttle service at gate 38 that will take you all the way to the Center Pier without having to deal with security. 5 minute wait and ride. Sometimes less.

what gate does the shuttle arrive at the center pier?

gate 38 to what other gate ?
