Guest Services at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji BOM Airport

Children:
Children under 12 without an adult are considered "unaccompanied minors". At time of booking of ticket, the legal guardian can complete the proper form needed in that case. After the minor is checked in, the airline staff takes over. Upon landing, the minor is safely escorted and handed over to the relative after proper verification. This is a FREE service rendered by the national carriers. Private carriers' fees may vary.

CUSTOMS PROCEDURE:
A non-resident of India entering India for a stay of not more than 6 months is considered a "tourist" by Customs.
The term "baggage" is used for all unaccompanied luggage. Its owner must state its contents to the Customs officer for clearance.
Passengers with no declarable goods can pass through the Green Channel.
Passengers who have goods to declare must pass the Red Channel: If a passenger fails to--or wrongfully declares-- such goods, they may either be confiscated or he/she shall be charged a fine or penalty. An attempt to smuggle gold without declaration will result in arrest & prosecution.

Uniform duty rates apply to all items imported as baggage. All items imported in excess of free allowance are charged a duty of 60%.

If a passenger returns to stay in India, after spending 365 days abroad, a duty of 30% will be levied on all the baggage.

Alcoholic drinks and Tobacco imported in excess of the free allowance limit will be charged as follows:
Cigarettes: 150%. Whisky: 413.24% (not exceeding US $25 per case). 339.92% (exceeding US $25 per case). Wines and beer: 264% (not exceeding US $25 per case), 212% (exceeding US $25 per case)

LOST LUGGAGE:
Unclaimed luggage will be transferred to the Airport Manager's office and duly recorded with description, date and signature.

LOST ITEMS:
For items lost on the airplane, contact your airline.
For items lost at any of the Terminals, contact the airport. Note that lost items are returned after passenger's proper identification. Unclaimed luggage will be turned over to the Materials Management Department after 48 hours.

Pets / Animals at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji BOM Airport

Pets are not allowed at any of the CSIA Terminals, unless they are working dogs or are in a safe kennel. Contact your airline as to their requirements. If you take your pet out of the country, contact the embassy of your destination for their regulations.

Smoking is not permitted within any of CSIA's terminals.
