Hotel shuttles atSFO drop you across from the terminal; you have to get a cart, lift and load yourself, cross the street to enter terminal; very difficult with one using a walker and the other 82 ; are the taxis allowed to pull to the actual curb in front of the terminal?
I am on a rip that says I will be dropped off at SFO approx 3pm. There is a nonstop United flight at 4:00 that I would lke to get, Will this be enough time to get checked in, through the gate and in time for departure approx 3:00 on a Friday in mid June?
Your arrival and departure depends on which airlines you use and if you need time to go through customs clearance as an international arrival. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/sfo, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.
On the plus side, SFO has the advantage of being directly connected to U.S. Route 101, to Interstate 380 and to BART trains; on the minus side are the flight delays caused by heavy fog.
AirTran stations in Terminals 1 & 3 of SFO Airport connect to the terminals by a passenger skybridge. To get there, take the elevator or escalator to Level 3 Mezzanine. The International terminal has two stations one level above ticketing, at both ends of the main hall.
Arrived at SFO early Sunday morning and had to find out that Bart trains only start at 8am on Sundays.
BART is San Francisco Airport's connection to Caltrain at the Millbrae Station, requiring a transfer at the San Bruno station during weekday daytime hours; however, direct service between SFO & Millbrae is available weekday evening, and on weekends/holidays.
