  • Arriving BA international connecting SWA terminal 1
    Aug 25, 2015
I am arriving international BA at 3pm. Can I make connection SWA at terminal 1 for 4:55 flight. Will need to claim bags and recheck. USA citizen.

No, that's probably not enough time in order to make it to the Southwest check-in counter before the bag cutoff.

  • time for a drink with my brother during 2 hr layover?
    Aug 18, 2015
Arriving SFO from Canada midweek about 8:30pm. Leaving 10:30 on another United flight for PHL. I will have to leave the secured area and meet him at the ITMain Hall. If everything is on time, will I have a full hour with him?

If you are coming from a Canadian origin with pre-clearance that should be enough time. If you are coming from somewhere without preclearance, such as Victoria, you won't have enough time.

  • 2hr transfer frm Emirates to Virgin America
    Jul 14, 2015
hi i will be travelling from singapore to san francisco on an emirates flight landing at 1315. my virgin america flight to san diego is at 1515. will i have enough time to make the transfer?

Did you purchase two separate tickets or one ticket? Will you have checked bags? With two separate tickets and checked bags it will be difficult. Without checked bags or on a single reservation it should be possible.

I have two separate tickets and a checked bag. I have swapped my tickets for one with a four hour layover . Hopefully that will be enough time! Thank you!

  • From SFO to BOS
    Jul 7, 2015
Hi, I'm flying from Taiwan to SFO. Will 2.5 hours be enough to connect the next flight to BOS? Thanks!

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation then yes that is enough time. If it's two separate reservations then it's more marginal.

  • Is 1 hr 19 min enough?
    Jun 28, 2015
I will be flying in from Chicago on a United flight, connection at San Fran to a Air China flight. Is 1 hr 19 min enough time for this connection?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate in Terminal 3 to your departure gate in concourse G of the International Terminal. There is a walkway inside security connecting them.

HI I am flying from SLC to CDG (france) with a 1 hour layover in SFO with one checked item. Do I have enough time? Do I have to go through security and get my checked item? Or is my checked item going directly from SLC to CDG? I'm french by the way.

  • Change plane in 35min
    Dec 9, 2014
Hi, we are going to fly from YVR to OGG and we are europeans with working visa in canada. Is 35minutes for changing planes enough time?Thank you for your answer.

Yes, but it doesn't leave much time for delays. Vancouver has US Immigration and Customs preclearance, so you will clear customs there and your arrival into SFO will be like a domestic flight.

  • Sufficient layover from international to domestic flight.
    Sep 28, 2014
I'm flying from Cancun to SFO. My connection time is 1 hour to get on flight to San Diego. Is the time sufficient to clear customs? I have no checked luggage to avoid any waiting or time checking in luggage. Leaving soon. Tried calling customer service but the phone hold was too long. Thank you so much for your help!

It's well below the minimum connection time. Wait a few days and then call customer support again. Also, with no checked baggage you may make it even though it's below the minimum time. Worst case if you miss it you get rebooked. United has a lot of SFO-SAN flights.

    I made it! TY

  • Cousin coming in tomorrow, question
    Jun 21, 2014
So my cousin is coming from TPE tomorrow. Her next flight is to San Diego. He has around a four hour gap. We did not tell her we might met her and might go at the last minute. the question is, will she come out of the terminals, or does she have an option of staying in the terminals without coming out?

Upon arrival from Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan at SFO's International Terminal, your cousin will first go through the customs process & re-check-in bags, then proceed to the Arrivals Hall, where you can meet her/him near the information counter, and thereafter your cousin can take the Red-line of the Air Train (one flight down) to her connecting domestic terminal (T1, T2 or T3).
