I'm flying in from SAN (arriving 9:28PM) for a connecting flight to PIT (departing 10:10PM). I'm with UA for the whole itinerary. My layover was originally 1 hr 42 min but was cut to 42 min. Is this enough time to make the connection?
It's possible but doesn't leave much time to spare if the first flight is delayed.
I have layover 1 hour 10 min with united from Orlando to SFO to Singapore is it enough time change plane and gate also transfer my luggage?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is a walkway connecting Terminal 3 and Concourse G of the International Terminal where you will depart inside security.
Do I need thru security checkpoint?
No, the walkway is inside security. You do not have to go through security in SFO.
Hi, I will be flying from Singapore to O'hare Airport with a 1.5h layover at SFO. Is this sufficient for clearing the US customs, security check and rechecking of baggage before proceeding to T2 for the connecting flight? The connecting flight is operated by a partner airline, so I am very worried that it won't wait for me. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
What airlines are you flying? Singapore Airlines to Virgin America? If so that's difficult but not impossible if both flights are on the same reservation.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. That's right, I will be flying via Singapore Airlines to SFO and connecting flight to ORD via Virgin America. Both flights were booked under the same reservation. Originally, the layover duration was 2h. However, Singapore Airlines rescheduled the flight and the layover duration becomes 1.5h instead... On a separate note, I am wondering if it's possible for Singapore Airlines to transfer my checked-in baggage directly to ORD, since ORD will be my final destination. If this is possible, I just have to clear the US customs and security check, and might be able to make it to the Virgin America. Thank you once again for your advice.
I have a friend flying in from Hong Kong at 0815 and departing for FL at 1310. Will he go through customs and exit into the unsecure part of the airport at SFO or will he have to stay on the secure side until he leaves?
Yes, when he clears US Customs he will be outside security and you could meet him.
Hi, I am flying through SFO from Calgary to Singapore. Will I have to go back through customs in SFO if I leave the airport to go explore the city for a few hours? Will I have to pick up my bags and keep them or can I recheck them before leaving the airport? Is this worth it or too much of a hassle?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You won't have to claim your bags in SFO if all flights are on the same reservation. You are free to leave and will just have to go through security when you return.
I am flying through SFO from Toronto to Melbourne, but the flight only gives a 1hr connection time. I will be pre-cleared for customs in Toronto, but I think I will still have to pick up my bags, change terminals and go through security again.
Both flights are with United, but I think the Canadian leg is operated by Air Canada.
You do not have to do anything with your bags or go through security in SFO. You just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be in the G concourse of the International Terminal. You have enough time.
I am looking at a flight from Incheon Airport in South Korea to Kansas City with a 1hr 25min layover in SFO San Francisco. Will I have enough time to make the layover from the International Terminal to the domestic terminal to Kansas City?
Also sorry I am also an American citizen.
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
