HI arriving terminal 1 (air canada) with a 1hr 5 min connection to HNL at terminal 3(united), Can you walk between Terminal 1 to terminal 3 without having to go through security again? Is this doable with this time period?

I have to claim bags on arrival at SFO traveling in United from Las Vegas, then check in at international terminal for CX flight. I have wine in my check in bags. Will I have to get through security before international terminal, and can I get my wine through with no problems. Thank you.

Arriving SFO. On Virgin Atlantic from London ar 2.35pmm connecting with Virgin America to Palm Springs at 5.00pm. Virgin America have changed departure to PS to 4.15pm. Is there any chance we can make this connection with bags.

That should still be enough time if both tickets were purchased on the same reservation.

My parents will be arriving at SFO Terminal 2 with AA from DFW connecting to HKG on Cathay Pacific (Terminal A?). Can they walk between the terminals? How long typically? And do they have to go through security again? Thanks!

No, they will have to take the AirTrain and go through security again in the International Terminal.

I am flying with United from China to San Francisco international airport arriving at G concourse. The I have to catch an American Airline flight to Dallas. I only have 2 hours in between, do I have enough time to go through custom, claim my bag and to check in at American airline counter? If the 2 hours is not enough time, should I not check in any bags?

Without checked bags you can do it, with checked bags it will be difficult.

    No, separate reservations

  • Connecting from domestic to international in 1hr 10min
    Sep 15, 2015
Hi all, I arrive at San Francisco (from Houston) at 4:56pm on Dec 13. My connecting flight is to Tokyo HND at 6:05pm on the same day. It is all with UNITED Airlines. It is enough time? If it isn't, what should I do? The page gave me that option and the alternative connection was 8hours long.

That is enough time if your flight from Houston is on-time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate in Terminal 3 to your departure gate in the G concourse of the International Terminal. There is a walkway between T3 and the G concourse inside security.

Great! I can stop panicking now. Thanks a lot for your response

Hi all, I have a flight all booked with Air New Zealand, Melbourne to Auckland to San Francisco to New York. SFO to JFK operated by Virgin. All with an infant! I have two hours for the transit in SFO, will I need to claim my bags and recheck them, and go through security? Will there be enough time?

Yes, in San Francisco you will arrive in the International terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 2, go through security and to your departure gate. 2 hours should be enough time.

    Thanks, ZAP, much appreciated.

So i rarely fly and i have a flight from SEA - SFO - ONT via UNITED for SEA-SFO and what looks like Skywest from SFO - ONT on a tuesday at around 2pm is this gonna be enough time from what i can see it looks like i get in to terminal 3 and have to go through terminal 1 for my connecting flight is there anyway to bypass security for a much faster way of getting to my flight

No, you do not have to go to Terminal 1. All domestic United and United Express flights are in Terminal 3. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Hi, I have a flight from Toronto to SFO to Sydney with 1 hours and 15 minutes in SFO to get to my connecting flight. Is this enough time? Thanks

What airlines are you flying? Were your tickets purchased on the same reservation or multiple reservations?

    Air New Zealand. Same reservation

Your first flight will be operated by Air Canada and arrive in concourse A or G of the International terminal. You will depart from concourse G of the International terminal. if you arrive in A you will have to exit security and walk to the other side of the International Terminal and go through security to access the G concourse. if you arrive in G concourse you just have to walk to your departure gate. Either way you have enough time if your flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto.

    Thank you very much.

  • Miami to SFO then to SG
    Sep 14, 2015
Hi, I land in SFO from Miami at 7:51 PM on AA then have to catch a 1am flight on Cathay to HK. Enough time to claim bags, and re check in into the San Fran international?

If your tickets were bought on the same reservation you will not have to transfer your bags. Even if they were separate reservations you can show your Cathay confirmation to the AA agent in Miami and they may check your bags through as AA and Cathay are Oneworld partners. Even if they don't, you have plenty of time for your transfer.

  • PHX - SFO - HKG

Hi, I will be arriving SFO at 10.22pm via US Airways in Terminal 1 and will be catching 1.15am SQ flight to HKG at Terminal G. Will I be able to make it for the flight if I do not have checked in luggage?

You have almost 3 hrs between flights, correct? More than enough time!

Yup, 2 hrs 45mins in between. I will have to exit Terminal 1 and clear security again at Terminal G right?

No, you just circle around to the other terminal. Pull up an SFO map for a visual, but you don't exit the secured area.

That is incorrect. terminal 1 is not connected to any other terminal inside security.

I see... but is 2 hrs 45 mins enough for me to get to Terminal G from 1 and go through the security again? Will the security queue be long for the 1am flight?

  • Arriving UA from KOA, going SFO to DEN 35 mins?
    Sep 14, 2015
Hi, I have a 35 min connection showing on this flight I'm about to book. Will they seriously get my luggage off and loaded onto my connecting flight, that fast? Thanks for any input!

Yes, it is possible. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

  • Kamloops - Vancouver - SFO -Auckland - sydney
    Sep 13, 2015
I am flying from Kamloops to Sydney via Vancouver, SFO and Auckland in January. All flights are on the same booking with Kamloop - Vancouver - SFO on Air Canada, and SFO - Auckland - Sydney on Air New Zealand. I realise in Vancouver I will have to do US Border clearance. My questions are 1. Will I have to collect my baggage in SFO and then re check in for the leg to Auckland

No, you should not have to claim your baggage in San Francisco.
