Hi. I am flying from Newark to SFO to Shanghai on United. Flights were booked on the same reservation. I land in SFO at 12:20 pm on a thursday in october and my next flight leaves at 1:35pm. Do you think I will have enough time? Do I have to claim my baggage or just walk to the next gate? Thanks.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in SFO.

  • Access to INTL Concourse A if I fly out of Terminal 1 Domestic

I am flying out of SFO Terminal 1 domestic, but I have access to the Air France lounge in Concourse A. Am I able to go to the lounge in international and get back to domestic without having to go through security multiple times?

No, that is not possible. T1 is not connected to anything else inside security.

HI! We have a single ticket in february. Flying from HEL-FRA - lufthansa FRA-SFO-HNL- United Layover time in SFO 1:30. Q: Do we have to claim our luggage in SFO? Do we have enough time? HNL-SFO- United SFO-FRA-HEL lufthansa On the way back the layover time is 1:46. Q: Do we have to claim our luggage in SFO? Do we have enough time?

Yes, in SFO on your way to HNL you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security. On the way back, all you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The first connection is quite difficult. The second connection is fairly easy.

I am flying Toronto to San Francisco on Air Canada, landing at the international terminal, then connecting to a United flight in the same terminal (same section, too). I have 90 minutes between. Am I able to simply get off the first flight and walk to the gate for the second flight? Note: I will have only carry-on luggage, so no need to collect bags inbetween

Yes, that's all you have to do. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto.

I am concerned about my upcoming flight to Cabo from SFO. I will be arriving at terminal 3, and need to transfer to the International terminal with only a 49 minute layover. This is a new itinerary change from my original booking. Should I change my flight schedule?

That should be enough time if the first flight is on-time and both flights are on United. There is a walkway inside security between T3 and concourse G of the International Terminal.

Hi I'll be travelling from Singapore to SFO via Singapore Airlines, and I have separately booked a Air Canada flight to Vancouver. SQ will arrive at 10.10am and AC flight is at 12.05am. Do I need to clear customs, pick bag and re-check in and is there enough time ? Thanks!

Oops sorry my AC flight is 12.05pm ie about 1 hr 45mins transit time

Yes, you need to do all of that. I'm guessing your AC flight is at 12:05 PM, not AM. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Hi, I have a 1hr 40min layover in San Fran (Maui to San Fran) San Fran to Toronto . Do I need to reclaim baggage Do I need to go through customs Are these flights in the same terminal Do I have enough time? Thank you!!

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. If both flights are on United/Air Canada on the same reservation you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • PDX - SFO - LHR 56 minutes between flights

Hi, I am flying from Portland to London via SFO mid December. PDX-SFO arrives 2:14pm and SFO - LHR departs 3:10pm. On United. a) is it possible to get from United domestic to international termijnal in time to board? b) do I have to go through TSA at SFO for the LHR flight or is there an internal connection walkway that bypasses? United changed the flight times shortening the gap and this seems very tight if not impossible to me. I have TSA precheck. Thanks for tips and help.

Yes, that is possible. There is a walkway from Terminal 3 to the G concourse of the International Terminal where you depart inside security. You have enough time.

Hi - we arrive at 6:40am at SFO international (terminal G I think) and have a flight to Denver at 8am departing from Terminal 3. Will we have enough time to clear customs and make our connecting flight? Thanks

I should add that we will have checked bags and both flights are on the same reservation with United

That is a difficult connection, but with the early morning arrival, not impossible.

Thanks Zap. I decided to err on the side of caution and got the airline to change my connecting flight to 9:45am instead. Figure we can absorb any delays and be relaxed about making our flight now - appreciate your opinion

  • Virgin America to Singapore airline LAX-SFO-SIN (1hour connection)

Would there be enough time for me to get from Virgin america (T2) to Singapore airlines (Intl terminal) in one hour? How far is the walk from T2 to Intl terminal? Or the train would be a better option?

Are both flights on the same reservation? Do you have checked bags? I would advise against this.

yes, both flights are booked under the same reservation through Singapore airlines. 1 checked bag, does the check bag goes to the final destination or do I have to check it again?

The bag will go straight to the destination, but you will still have to take the AirTrain or run to the International terminal and go through security. It's difficult.

We're booked on a Virgin Atlantic flight from LHR to SFO, connecting to a flight from SFO to AKL. All on one ticket. We have 1hr 55. Is this enough time?

Forgot to say, SFO to AKL is with Air NZ. All booked through Air NZ

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

We are flying from Montreal to SFO and have a layover of 75 min. We have checked baggage. Do we have to claim our baggage or just go to our departure gate? Will 75 min be long enough? Thanks!

Fotgot to mentiom that we might have to go from Gate G to Gate A in International Terminsl. So is 75 min enough?

What airlines are you flying? You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal.

Air canada Fom YUL to SFO and Qantas from SFO to SYD.

With checked baggage you have no chance if the two flights are on separate reservations. If you have one reservation, you have a chance.

  • 45 minute connection?

I booked a flight from FAT-SFO-ICN with United and its connection time is only 45 minutes. Is it enough time?

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Fresno is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Travelling from PVG to SFO to SAN via United Airlines

I'll have 2 hours layover in SFO. According to United Airline's website, 45 minutes is the minimum check-in time prior to departure, so technically I will have 1 hour and 15 minutes to clear immigration, obtain my luggage, then check them back in. Will that be enough time to make the connection?

You will already be checked in for your flight to SAN. You have enough time. You just have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
