Hi, im travelling from Singapore to Chicago and connecting flight at SFO with Virgin Air which is a code share flight with SIA. Do i need to claim my luggage and re-check in at the immigration if im travelling on business class?
I have a flight from LAX to SFO then onward flight to Tokyo Haneda. United site indicates a possible terminal change. Is a 1h15min connection enough time. Thank you
All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Terminal 3 where you arrive and the G concourse of the International Terminal where you depart are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time.
I have a flight from Vancouver to SFO then onward flight to Sydney. It is a 1h20min connection enough time. Do I need to recheck luggage or will it go straight through as I am not stayin in the U.S.? Thank you
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in SFO on your way to Sydney is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

We're flying from Chicago to Aukland, NZ with connecting flight in SFO. We have 50 minutes between flights. We're flying United all the way. Will that be enough time to catch the other flight?
Yes, that is enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in SFO.
I'm flying into sfo from Heathrow on united, then have a connecting flight to Hawaii again with united. We only have 1 hour 20 between flights, do I go through security/ immigration or is there just a separate part for connections? I'm worried we won't have enough time.
Yes, in SFO you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thank you, fingers crossed!
My daughter's flight arrives from Ecuador at 3:05 PM. She'll need to clear customs and immigration (US Passport), leave the terminal and go through security (can't ticket straight through) and get to the United terminal for a domestic flight at 6:40 flight to San Luis Obispo, CA. Will she have enough time? She'll be traveling late June.
Yes, that should be plenty of time.
Thank you for your response.
I have a UA flight from Toronto to Singapore connecting via SFO. The Toronto-SFO leg is operated by Air Canada and the SFO-Singapore leg is operated by UA. The connection at SFO is only 1 hour 20 minutes - will that be enough time?

Many thanks in advance!
Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto so all you have to do in SFO is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I will be landing in SFO (INTL terminal) on a UA Flight (operated by Air Canada) from Toronto. My connecting UA flight leaves from terminal 3 to Hawaii. If both tickets are purchased together will I need to retrieve/re-check my bags? Also, as this is the first time I've been able to do pre-clearance, is there a separate line to bypass immigration/customs once landed in SFO?

Thank you for your time.
Everyone on your flight pre-clears US Immigration and Customs in Toronto and therefore the arrival is like a domestic flight. You can just walk to your departure gate.
Thank you for the prompt response! I'm assuming 1hr 40 minutes is plenty of time (given the first flight is on time)?

Thank you!
Yes, that is enough time.
Hi,
I have a flight from Sydney to Seattle, with a layover in SFO. I know the layover is not long enough to catch my next flight from SFO to Seattle, but do I retrieve my luggage in SFO after my flight from Sydney, and then go through customs with my luggage in SFO? Or is my luggage continued automatically to Seattle without me retrieving it in SFO? Thanks
Yes, you have to retrieve your bags in SFO to take them through US Customs.
