SFO International Terminal - Terminal 3Feb 9, 201310How in earth transfering in one hour 25 minutes from SFO International Terminal arrival to SFO Terminal 3 domestic connecting flight..? Luckily, only handbag with... Apparently new "Amazing Race" episode in real life...AirRacer66posted on Sat, Feb 9[ Reply ][ Like ]25 minutes is not enough, particularly if you are an international arrival. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/sfo then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. Pay attention to Getting around, Security Check lines & terminal details.safeb13posted on Sat, Feb 9

Domestic to International TransferJan 21, 201310I am about to book flights from IAD onto to Melbourne, Australia via SFO and Auckland, New Zealand. I will be flying United domestically, then onward on Air New Zealand for my international flights. My connection time is only 91 minutes; it looks like I will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal G. From what I am reading, it sounds like this connection time might be doable, but I know situations in airports often change. Can someone tell me if this is a feasible connection? I usually connect through LAX when I fly to AU/NZ, but right now flying through SFO is cheaper at the moment. Thanks.PattyVAposted on Sun, Jan 20You will arrive via United at SF at Terminal 3 and depart via Air New Zealand at the International terminal. Your bags will be automatically transferred as both airlines belong to the Star Alliance. Domestic passengers transferring from T3 to the International Terminal may transfer via a connector walkway (located post-secuirty near gate 75) to the International Terminal's Boarding Area G arriving at post-security near gate G92. Also, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/sfo then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.mojan13posted on Mon, Jan 21

Terminal 1 Gate 20 - Terminal 2 Gate 57Jan 10, 201310I have less than an hour to get from Terminal 1 Gate 20 to Terminal 2 Gate 57. Do I have to go out and back through security or can I transfer between terminals inside of security? Will I have enough time to make it between gates and make my flight. I am flying in on an American Airlines ticket that is run by Alaska and flying out on American Airlines. Thanks for your help.Traveler100posted on Thu, Jan 10On arrival at SFO, Terminal 1, you need to take the Red-line of the AirTrain (an automated people mover), which serves all terminals & the garage on a continuous loop and takes only minutes between terminals. Signs will guide you. At Terminal 2, which has Boarding Area D (gates 50-59) you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Your checked bags will be automatically transferred. You have enough time.thjan13posted on Thu, Jan 10

Best place to gatherSep 25, 201211Where is the best place for us to meet each other when three of our group arrive on Frontier (Terminal 1) and two on United (Terminal 3) and one on Southwest (? Terminal)?? All will have checked luggage. Arrival times are very close together (early afternoon).julie23posted on Mon, Sep 241 person likes this post [ Like ]As one member of your group arrives via Southwest at the international terminal - where he/she needs to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs first, I suggest you all meet up at the baggage claim level - close to the information counter. To get there, the red-line of the AirTrain (an automated people mover) serves all terminals & the garage, making a continuous loop taking only minutes between stops (baggage carts have hand brakes and can be taken onto the AirTrain); however, you can also walk to your connecting terminal: walking around the entire terminal loop would take 25 minutes.tusep12posted on Tue, Sep 25

From Terminal3 to international TerminalSep 24, 201211I'm a mom traveling with a baby and will have less than one hour to get from terminal3 to the international terminal. Will it be enough time? What is the shortest way? I will be flying back to Europe with Lufthansa. Do you know their usual gates? If I got it right I won't have to go through security check? Thank you for your answer.syle15posted on Sun, Sep 231. At SFO Airport, domestic passengers transferring from T3 to the International Terminal may transfer via a connector walkway (located post-securiy near gate 75) to the International Terminal's Boarding Area G arriving at post-security near gate G92. If they have not yet checked in for their connecting flight, they need to stop by at their airline counter in the Main Hall and then take either the AirTrain or walk to the International Terminal, where they need to go through security check before proceeding to their connecting gate. 2. The International Terminal has boarding areas A (gates 1-12) and G (gates 91-102) on either side of the two-level Main Hall. 3. On arrival there, look at overhead screens to find your flight & gate number, then follow signs. Note that you can bring a collapsible stroller onboard the aircraft, plus a baby bag (in addition to your carry-on bag. IMPORTANT Make sure your first airline will transfer bags to Lufthansa flight - if not, you would have to check them in at the International Terminal first, before proceeding to your gate. You have enough time - but do not hesitate to ask for assistance of any airline or AP personnel.mosep12posted on Mon, Sep 241 person likes this post [ Like ]

short connectionOct 12, 201221We are flying into Terminal 3 and out of Terminal 1, with a 40 minute layover...domestic flight. Trying to figure out if that is enough time? Do we have to go through security again?ahaposted on Thu, Sep 201 person likes this post [ Like ]On arrival at SFO in T3, head for the Red line of the Airtrain (follow signs (pre-security). Your next stop is T2 then T3. Airtrain runs on a continuous circle around the terminals and takes minutes. On arrival at T1, go through security check and on to your gate (B boarding area gates 20-39, C boarding area gates40-48). Hurry!frsep12posted on Fri, Sep 21Actually, United offers a shuttle between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 that stays INSIDE the Security zone. You don't have to take the train and you don' thave to leave Security. It leaves every 5 minutes. Gate 39 in Terminal 1, Gate 87A in Terminal 3. (And maybe gate 71A in Terminal 3.) International to domestic transfer timeDec 5, 201222Arriving into international on Air NZ and then onto domestic Virgin America flight. Would 2hours be enough time to clear customs at SFO and get over to Terminal 2 in time for Virgin flight (As United has now cancelled our scheduled onward flight to IAD). Thanks.RWposted on Mon, Sep 101 person likes this post [ Like ]Two hours should suffice for you to go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bags (if Air New Zealand is transferring bags to Terminal 2 - if not, you need to take your bags along and check them in at T2 before continuing on to your gate!) International to Domestic Terminals: To connect to any of the domestic terminals, take the AirTrain's blue or red line at either station A or G below the Main Hall.tusep12posted on Tue, Sep 111 person likes this post [ Like ]

Skywest commuter moving to Terminal 1Sep 8, 201200I have told by the 1k check-in folks that as part of the Terminal 3 upgrade, United domestic/international is staying in Terminal 3 and some Skywest flights are moving to Terminal 1. You have to leave the sterile area and so you have to route through security again between flights. On top of that, there is little if any Sywest/United support in Terminal 1. ---Not good. Unless they come up with a terminal to terminal shuttle that keeps you in the sterile area, connections are really going to be really tight.engrx2posted on Sat, Sep 8

Don't cut things too closeSep 9, 201210It is fast through premium class (minutes), but through the regular line, arrive 2-3 hours minimum before time. I have watched airlines refuse boarding to ticketed passengers if they did not meet the international check-in time requirement. Needless to say the passengers were not happy as the re-booking or added hotel costs are on the passengers nickel in such circumstances.engrx2posted on Sat, Sep 8

PeetAug 25, 201200Best coffee kiosk in the US that I have seen! Can't beat a Peet's cappuccino to wake you up for early morning flights and the berry scones are the best I have ever eaten with lots of berries. Usually jammed with customers but the service is fast with several people behind the counter.DLAposted on Sat, Aug 25
