Hi, I'll be arriving in SFO at 1710 on British Airways from London. Am planning to book a flight on a different reservation to Las Vegas and am contemplating between 3 options:
1945 Virgin
2010 United
2035 Southwest

Will I have enough time to make the Virgin flight or should I go with the later options?

Thanks
Any of those should work.
Hello,

Looking at an intinerary where I'll be arriving from Copenhagen with Scandinavian and have 1.50 for transferring to a domestic United flight. The same booking and should be checked through. Is that too tight. MCT is 1.45.

/Tom
You will have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs in San Francisco then immediately re-check them. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
UAL changed my reservation. I now have 30 minutes between a flight arriving at gate 78 and departing from gate 62. Does anyone know the approximate walking distance? Bilateral knee replacements don't allow for race walking!
That's about a 10-15 minute walk. However, as far as I know, United doesn't use gates in Terminal 6.
Sorry, disregard what I said about "Terminal 6". It's more like a 5-10 minute walk too.
We are flying UA Express SMF to SFO, then UA to Frankfurt, before connecting to Lufthansa to Basel Switzerland. Will UA at SMF check our bags thru to Basel? Will we have to check in again at SFO to show passports when we go to Int. Terminal?
Your bags will be checked through to Basel in Sacramento. All you have to do in SFO is walk to your departure gate - you will show your passports when you board. You will go through Schengen entry passport control in Frankfurt.
Am flying from Denver to sfo on United then flying to panama on Copa airline with 3.5 hour layover. Do I collect bags from United then walk to International and recheck? I have a bike bag.
If both flights are on the same reservation you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I'm flying in to SFO 7.10 am from Sydney with a connection to Austin at 8.40 am with United Airlines. Regular economy ticket with baggage. This transfer was the only available option when I booked my ticket. Will there be enough time to get to my connecting flight? Are all united flight in the same terminal at SFO?
You arrive in the International terminal and depart from Terminal 3. They are right next to each other. You should have just enough time.
But we will still have to go trough immigration, baggage claim and security? I've never been to SFO, just thought this was a tight transfer based on experience from big US airports.
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. Like I said, it's just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thank you! I wonder why United made my booking with such short time in between flights. There should be many flights from SFO to AUS?
There are not many flights between SFO and AUS. If you miss your connection you will be rebooked to AUS through Denver or Houston.
I have an international flight from sfo - bkk from terminal 1 at 12:00 pm. There's a flight from San - sfo that gets into terminal 3 (United) at 8:40 am. That would give me three hours to get to terminal 1 check in and go through security for my international flight. I'm buying the flights separately which is why I want to make sure I have enough time. (plus I'm a bit of a worrier) Just want to make sure I'll make it. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
I won't have to check any bags.
What airline is your flight to Bangkok on? I suspect it leaves from the International Terminal, not Terminal 1. Will your United flight be domestic?
It's China Eastern. I thought it was terminal 1 but I could be wrong. And yes the United flight is domestic from San Diego.
So yes, that is enough time. You will claim your bags from United in T3, take them to the International Terminal, check them with China Eastern, and go through security.
Flying in on united to San Fran connecting to Burbank ca. United has a 1 hour layover with the connecting flight to Burbank being on air Canada. Is an hour enough time? I'm assuming we need to change terminals?
Your flight to Burbank is also on United. Where are you flying into San Francisco from?
Flying in from Cleveland. It's all on United but the flight from San Fran to Burbank is on a smaller commuter flight that I think is operated by air Canada
It's not operated by Air Canada. They don't fly to Burbank. It's likely on an aircraft called the "Canadair Regional Jet" - which has nothing to do with Air Canada. All you have to do in San Francisco is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3. You have enough time.
Hello I'm flying from SNA to SFO then to PDX - I have a 45 minute layover in SFO and United says I HAVE to check my carry-on because of the "Basic Economy" ticket I bought. I know I'm make it I'm worried about my bag making it
Your bag should make it if you can make it.
Hi 52 min layover arriving from Vancouver canada to SFO then to Cancun. Do I have enough time to make the connector if in different terminal?
I would love to say yes but you'll a)have to clear customs b)have to clear security again c)int'l departures close their doors earlier. If u do decide to throw logic to the wind, make sure u have a backup flight plan
Please ignore Kate. She is completely wrong. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. What airlines are you flying?
Hi Zap. I am flying United airlines. I booked thinking 52 min would be no problem if we are in an international section and simply have to get on to the next gate.
Hi Zap. I am flying United airlines. I booked thinking 52 min would be no problem if we are in an international section and simply have to get on to the next gate. Is it doable in your opinion?
Yes, that is enough time. Even if you arrive in Terminal 3, it is connected to the International Terminal inside security by a walkway.
