I am connecting from CVG to SFO to Sydney. Two questions: 1)Do I need to go through security again at SFO? and 2) My layover is only 1 hour 10 minutes-is that enough time to make connection?
If both flights are on United then you don't have to go through security again in San Francisco, just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi, we are arriving into SFO at 8.45pm on United from Cancun, then the flight on Air NZ To Auckland at 9.45pm, these are all booked on the same ticket, is this enough time and do we have to clear customs?
No, that is not enough time. You need to find a different itinerary. You have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.
I'm flying into San Francisco and catching a connecting flight out to Honolulu in September.
I have 1hour and 20 mins time between flights, is this enough? Also I know I have to go through immigration and recheck my luggage, but do I need to go through security again or is it just straight through from recheck to board the plane? Any help would be great. Thank you
Where are you flying into SFO from? What airlines are you flying?
Flying in from London Heathrow, united airlines throughout, sorry I should've thought about putting that too.

I am flying to Sydney in October. I would arrive in SFO at 9:55 PM and the flight to Sydney leaves at 11:00 PM (1 hr 5 min connection). All flights are with United, is this enough time?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Arriving from Boston Sept. 21 7:40pm, Delta.
Can I make an Alaska connection from SFO to PDX at 8:45pm?
With checked bags, no. Without checked bags, maybe if everything goes perfectly.
Hi on wednesday 2nd Aug 2017 I'm departing YVR and Arriving at SFO at 8.18am and depart SFO for MCO at 9.05am - is 47 minutes enough time? I only have one carry on bag and no checked luggage, im a new zealand citizen
Sorry,I also should have said im flying with united the whole way
Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in SFO is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi i have a connecting flight from NRT - SFO - DFW. i reach SFO at 10.40am and leave SFO to DFW at 1.12pm. I understand i am required to check out my bags and check in again here due to immigration checks when entering US. Am travelling with an infant so may i know exactly which terminal to go to. Travelling via united. And will it be enough time?
You will arrive in the International Terminal and depart from Terminal 3. You have enough time.
Thanks Zap. Can i also confirm a rough estimate of time of the immigration checks in SFO. Will be travelling on a Wednesday. Thanks again.
Hello, I am flying from MFR to SFO on United, arriving at 11:52 and and leaving on Air Berlin (Terminal A?) at 13:45. Layover is 1' 50". Will this be enough time? Thank you! STEVEN
Air Berlin uses concourse A of the International Terminal. If this is two separate reservations you have just enough time as you will have to transfer any checked bags yourself.
We have no checked baggage. So we should be in better shape, right? Thank you! S.R.
I am arriving on united flight from Vancouver at 08.20 and departing on Etihad at 0955. Is there enough time to make the connection, and can my baggage connect automatically without collecting and checking again??
United and Etihad do not have an interline agreement. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly. I personally wouldn't try this even though you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.
