i am flying from cincinnati to sfo to catch my next flight to hongkong.the frontier airways flight arrives at terminal 2 at 10:40 am and my next flight to hongkong departs at 12:45.do i have enough time to catch my flight and from which terminal will it depart.it is cathay pacific.and how to get there?

Cathay Pacific uses concourse A of the International Terminal. An Airtrain connects the terminals outside security. You will have to claim your bags from Frontier, take them tot he International Terminal. and re-check them with Cathay. That will be a very difficult connection.

difficult.what do you mean?are there chances that i miss my hongkong flight. please guide me.i have 2 hours.from 10:40 to12:45 and lots of work to do like claim my bags from frontier and then reach to the international terminal and then recheck bags with cathay . how can i do thall this work quickly that i dont miss my hongkong flight?

I have 60 min connection in SFO landing from BOS will I need to get my bag and recheck it or is it checked all the way through from BOS to Taipei?

That is enough time as long as the flight from Boston is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bag in SFO on your way to Taipei.

I have 50 minutes in between my flight landing from HNL to getting on the connecting one. Is that enough time ?

Yes, that is enough time. If both flights are on United you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

i arrive San Francisco with 45 minutes to change for a flight to Seoul, all on United. Is this enough time?

Yes, that is enough time as long as the flight from Boston is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I arrive at gate A11 and leave 40 minutes later at gate 80. Will I make the flight and do I have to go through security? Thanks

What airlines are you on? Where are you flying from and to?

I'm travelling Auckland to Denver via San Francisco. It's all booked on one ticket with Auckland to San Francisco on Air New Zealand and SF to Denver on United. I have 2 hours 10 minutes in SF going over and 1 hour 50 minutes on the return leg. Is this long enough?

Yes, that should be enough time.

Hi there, We arrive at SFO from SYD at 07:10 at terminal 1 and then have a connecting flight to EWK at 09:00 at terminal 3. Both are United. Is this realistic?

You do not arrive in Terminal 1. You arrive in the International Terminal. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you miss your connection, United has frequent flights from San Francisco to Newark.

  • Connection time from Terminal 3 to International Terminal

I am flying from Boston to SFO with1h 20m connection time flying out to Taipei, both flights are on United. What is my arriving gate and departure gate? Do I have to recheck through security and do I have enough time to catch my flight to Taipei? Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is enough time. You arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal, but they are connected by a walkway inside security.

Planning to book a separate domestic ticket for LAS-SFO how much time should I allow to check in and go through immigration for my the SFO-AUK leg if my flight leaves at 23:30pm? Also would there be a high chance of fog delay for this night flight in April?

sorry the correct flight time is 21:45

There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. You just have to go through security. If you purchase two separate reservations I would plan on arriving in SFO before 9 PM. It is rarely foggy at night in San Francisco. It is more common in the morning.

Thanks so much, really appreciate the advice!

  • Sacramento - SFO - Frankfurt in 1:20

I have a hop from Sacramento to SFO, a 1h 20m connection time, and then a flight out to Frankfurt. Both flights are on United, checked bags. From other responses below, it looks like that should be fine - same terminal. Is that correct? Thanks!

It's not technically the same terminal, you arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal, but they are connected by a walkway inside security. You have enough time.

    Fantastic, thanks so much!

UK citizen, flying United LHR to PDX via SFO. Notice there is a terminal change and only a 1h20min connection. Is this realistic? I assume bags will be pre-checked and no immigration in SFO?

No, that's not realistic. You assume wrong. in San Francisco you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. I guess you might barely have enough time if the flight from London arrives early.

Thanks - not sure why United are suggesting such a short transfer in that case. Will look for an alternative

  • How to travel in the airport? Time?

I am arriving in SFO from YVR and only have 50 minutes to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 to catch a flight to PVR. Is it enough time? Is there a shuttle or can I walk in that amount of time?

No flights to Puerto Vallarta depart from Terminal 1. If both flights are on United it will depart from concourse G of the International Terminal. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from Vancouver is on-time.

Hi.. I am flying from Singapore to SFO arriving at 1830 at SFO Terminal 1. Connecting flight from SFO to New York (EWR) departs at either 20:50 or 21:50 (2 possible options). No terminal stated for this. Do I have to pick up my luggage and to clear customs at SFO? Is connecting flight at 20:50 from SFO to EWR enough time?

Either flight should work if both flights are on the same reservation. Yes, you will have to claim your bags in SFO to go through US Customs then immediately re-check them.

Is 1 hour 20 min enough to connect from a domestic flight (from Houston airport- IAH) to international flight (to Taipei, Taiwan- TPE)? All flights are operated by United Airline. Thank you.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
