Hi I am planning to fly from YYC to SFO on United arriving at 9.25 pm and then flying qantas to syd departing at 11.25pm? Is a 2 hour layover going to be enough time? Thank you in advance!
Without checked bags that should be enough time. With checked bags, that will be difficult if it's two separate reservations, but not impossible. You will at least pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary.
Aloha, my wife and I are flying from YVR to HNL with a connection in SFO on 3/4. We are flying United on the same ticket with checked baggage. We only only have 44 minutes (3:02 arrival and 3:46 departure) to make the connection in SFO, is this possible? We are in first class. Thank you for your time. Aloha
That is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in San Francisco is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I'm a non US resident, visiting LA. I have a layover in SFO at 7:30 pm with a connecting flight to LAX at 9 pm. Will I have to clear customs and recheck my bag at SFO or will I clear customs at LAX? Flights are on the same reservation, will 1.5 hours be enough for me to make my flight to LA?
Yes, in SFO you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I've booked flights through Virgin from Manchester UK to San Francisco and return via Atlanta. My return flight from San Francisco to Atlanta is with Delta on March 8th. Can you please tell me which terminal I'll fly from or will it be the domestic one. Also will I have to claim my bag at Atlanta or will it go straight to the Virgin flight.
Your Delta flight from San Francisco will depart from Terminal 1 (A domestic terminal). You do not have to claim your bag in Atlanta.
Hi, I'm planning to book an incoming Qantas flight (from Sydney) to SFO, which is due to land at 09:30 and then transfer to an outbound United flight to Vancouver, departing at 10:46. Bookings will be separate...is this doable? Can I check luggage all the way through or will I have to collect and re-check at SFO?
No, that is completely impossible. You will have to claim your bags in SFO to clear US Customs even if you can have them tagged to Vancouver. If it's two separate reservations you need at least 3 hours.
Hi, flying from Sydney to Seattle with a 1hr 45 layover/connection in San Fran. Both United flights - Please let me know procedure for connection at San Fran flying United ie Immigration>Pick up bags>Bag drop connecting flight>Check In>Fly. Is this enough time?
You will be checked in for both flights in Sydney. In SFO you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate in Terminal 3.
Awesome, thankyou. I hope 1hr 45min is enough time.
Hi, I'm looking at booking a flight from toronto to sydney, AU with a 1h49m stopover in SFO. Will we make it? Flying Air Canada/Qantas
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. If it's on the same reservation you just have to go over to the A concourse and through security. You have enough time if it's all one reservation. If it's two separate reservations you have barely enough time.
Arriving SFO from YVR 9:49 PM Mar 4 on Air Canada (clear US Customs in YVR) connecting with American at 11:40 PM to Miami. Is that enough time to go from one terminal to the other? Is it a walkable situation? Do I have to collect bags? Flights are all on same reservation made through Celebrity Choice Air. Trust I have to clear Security again in SFO.Thanks for your assistance.
Yes, you do have to go through security again. Other than that, if your bags are checked through it is walkable and doable.
Hi I have a flight from Hong Kong to SanFran (on Cathay Pacific), and it lands at 9:55pm. I have a connecting flight from SanFran (on American Airlines) to Miami and it departs at 11:40pm. So there's 1hr45min transit time. Do you think there's enough time for me to catch my flight to Miami? Thanks
Yes, that should be enough time if both flights are on the same reservation.
