Hi, I'm wondering if I have enough time to get in international terminal 3.15pm in UC on virgin to catch a different ticketed flight to Portland on Alaska airlines at 1705. I will have a checked baggage and I'm from uk so will have an etsa any help is appreciated!
Since it's two separate reservations, it will be really hard for you to make the bag check cutoff for the Alaska airlines flight if you have checked bags with that amount of time.
Hey Everyone! I booked a flight from Zurych to Honolulu via San Francisco. My first flight is operated by Swiss Airlines arriving to Terminal I and the second one operated by United Airlines departing from Terminal 3. I'm gonna have 2h 45 minutes to change the plane. As an European citizen with Polish passport I guess I will need to go through all US immigration process in SFO, not in Honolulu. Do u think its enough time to go through all the process and catch my second flight? I'll just add it's gonna be my first time in USA. Will I need to collect my checked-in baggage in San Francisco? or it goes str8 to Honolulu? thanks for any help!
Yes, that is enough time. Yes, in SFO you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
We are flying into SFO from Boston, and have 45 minutes to change terminals and catch a flight to Sydney. Is this enough time? A single United reservation.
Yes, it's enough time if the flight from Boston is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The two terminals are connected inside security by a walkway.
Hi, my Swissair flight from Zurich will land at 4pm with my connecting flight on the same booking departing on Air Canada at 6.30pm. Is this enough time? What do I need to do to clear customs? Do I need to re-check in my bags?
You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. If you are a Swiss citizen you will need to complete ESTA before your trip. You have enough time.
Thanks! What is the minimum connection time I would need to set aside for this connection? We are travellering under the visa waiver Programme and a valid ESTA. Where is the re-check deak located?
You have enough time. At least 2 hours is fine. The re-check desk is right after you clear Customs.
and roughly how much time would you think between baggage claim at Southwest (incoming) and making our way to international departure gate for Japan? Much thanks!
I would want at least 3 hours from the Scheduled arrival time of the Southwest flight to the Scheduled departure time of the flight to Japan.
Two of us will be flying to SFO meeting a group for travel to Japan. The group leader will have our tickets. Am I correct that we will have to claim our bags at Southwest and recheck them before going to international departure gate?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags from Southwest take them to the International Terminal, re-check them, and go through security.
Arrive SFO from EWR 8.45pm, depart 9.45pm for AKL. Is this enough time to get through
If both flights are on the same reservation that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I have a 1 hour connection in SFO at 9pm coming from Calgary en route to Singapore. Will I need to change terminals / recheck bags / clear customs / go through security in SFO? Will this be enough time?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. If both flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do in SFO is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
many thanks. any chance you know if these will be in the same terminal? On the way back (SIN - SFO - YYC) I have a 1.5 hour layover in SFO. I assume I will have to clear customs in SFO, and potentially change terminals. Does this seem accurate and/or too tight to you?
They should be in the same terminal. On the return you have barely enough time.
How did your connection go? Was it the same terminal? I have the same connection tomorrow.
my trip is YYC-LAX-SFO-TPE, do i get screening checking in LAX, need to take my checked baggage and re-check in? and when I arrived in SFO, i only get 1 hour to connect to TPE flight, Do i need to go through the screening again? and get my baggage check in again? how long does it take? will i have enough time in SFO? I book the entire trip through United Airline. Thanks
You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Calgary. since the Calgary-LAX flight is operated by Air Canada. You will arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 7/8. You will have to walk to T7 and go through security. You don't have to do anything with your bags. In SFO all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
We have a flight arriving at 8:10 on Southwest and need to connect to a United flight at 9:20. Will this allow us enough time walk between terminals?
That's just enough time if everything goes perfectly. Do you have checked bags? AM or PM?
Carry on and it's am. Thanks
