Hi there,

We arrive at SFO from SYD at 07:10 at terminal 1 and then have a connecting flight to EWK at 09:00 at terminal 3. Both are United. Is this realistic?
You do not arrive in Terminal 1. You arrive in the International Terminal. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you miss your connection, United has frequent flights from San Francisco to Newark.
I am flying from Boston to SFO with1h 20m connection time flying out to Taipei, both flights are on United. What is my arriving gate and departure gate? Do I have to recheck through security and do I have enough time to catch my flight to Taipei? Thanks in advance.
Yes, that is enough time. You arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal, but they are connected by a walkway inside security.
Planning to book a separate domestic ticket for LAS-SFO how much time should I allow to check in and go through immigration for my the SFO-AUK leg if my flight leaves at 23:30pm?
Also would there be a high chance of fog delay for this night flight in April?
sorry the correct flight time is 21:45
There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. You just have to go through security. If you purchase two separate reservations I would plan on arriving in SFO before 9 PM. It is rarely foggy at night in San Francisco. It is more common in the morning.
Thanks so much, really appreciate the advice!
I have a hop from Sacramento to SFO, a 1h 20m connection time, and then a flight out to Frankfurt. Both flights are on United, checked bags. From other responses below, it looks like that should be fine - same terminal. Is that correct?

Thanks!
It's not technically the same terminal, you arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal, but they are connected by a walkway inside security. You have enough time.
Fantastic, thanks so much!
UK citizen, flying United LHR to PDX via SFO. Notice there is a terminal change and only a 1h20min connection. Is this realistic?
I assume bags will be pre-checked and no immigration in SFO?
No, that's not realistic. You assume wrong. in San Francisco you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. I guess you might barely have enough time if the flight from London arrives early.
Thanks - not sure why United are suggesting such a short transfer in that case. Will look for an alternative
I am arriving in SFO from YVR and only have 50 minutes to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 to catch a flight to PVR. Is it enough time? Is there a shuttle or can I walk in that amount of time?
No flights to Puerto Vallarta depart from Terminal 1. If both flights are on United it will depart from concourse G of the International Terminal. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from Vancouver is on-time.
Hi.. I am flying from Singapore to SFO arriving at 1830 at SFO Terminal 1. Connecting flight from SFO to New York (EWR) departs at either 20:50 or 21:50 (2 possible options). No terminal stated for this. Do I have to pick up my luggage and to clear customs at SFO? Is connecting flight at 20:50 from SFO to EWR enough time?
Either flight should work if both flights are on the same reservation. Yes, you will have to claim your bags in SFO to go through US Customs then immediately re-check them.
Is 1 hour 20 min enough to connect from a domestic flight (from Houston airport- IAH) to international flight (to Taipei, Taiwan- TPE)? All flights are operated by United Airline. Thank you.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi there I'm flying with united airlines we arrive from YVR at 8:24am and have a connecting flight to PVR at 9:15am is this connecting flight possible and will i have my checked baggage moved to my connecting flight or will i have to pickup my baggage then check it in again. TIA
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. You don't have to do anything with your bags in San Francisco on your way to Puerto Vallarta. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Will be arriving on QF73 from Sydney into San Fran at 9.30am, and am looking to book a flight to NYC using either American or United (booking separate to my QF booking). How much time would I need to get through US immigration, get my bags, go through US Customs and recheck plus security etc? Would a 12pm flight be fine for United (or 12.25pm for American)?
I would want 3 hours, so the 12:25 flight would be just about enough time.
