I have an elderly female traveling from SMF connecting to SFO arriving in terminal 3 United Airlines and connecting to terminal 1 United Airlines operated by Air Canada to Montréal. How will she get from terminal 3 to terminal 1? How long will it take and will she have to go through security again. Thank you!
tickets purchased on one reservation. She has 1:25mins layover. Is that enough time?
She does not depart from Terminal 1. she departs from concourse G of the International Terminal. All she has to do is walk from her arrival gate to her departure gate. She has plenty of time.
my family going to visit at 10/04/2016,from BEIJING,CHINA-PHOENIX,AZ.the itineray is PEK-SFO-PHX,layover at SFO is 2hour25minutes,all airplane operated by UNITED AIRLINES.
Because we have to go through customs/immigration,
1.will 2hours25minutes be enough connection time?
2. how many minutes will it take if we walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3?
3. usually,if we delayed, would airlines arrange us the next available flight for free charge?
thank you
Yes, that is enough time. You will arrive in the International Terminal, not Terminal 1. Yes, if your flight from Beijing is delayed, they will rebook you on the next available flight to Phoenix.
thank you zap,we hope we rush can make it
Hi I am travelling from IAD to SFO with Virgin America and after a 1 hour and 10 min layover I fly to ICN with Singapore Airline (Seoul, International). I'm told that I would actually have to get a separate boarding pass from the Singapore Airline counter once I arrive in San Fran. This is little confusing for me because they said they will automatically transfer my baggage all the way to Seoul From Washington DC. Regardless, would I have enough time to exit the domestic gate, walk to main international hall, claim my boarding pass, go through the security and make it to the next flight?
Yes, it means that Virgin America's computers aren't able to issue SIngapore boarding passes. Regardless you'd have to exit security to get to the International Terminal, so all you have to do is stop at the Singapore check-in desk, get your boarding pass, and go through security. You have barely enough time to make this connection.
I flew from Aus to sin via SFO and Seoul last year via virgin America / SIA. Virgin America was able to issue me a boarding pass all the way, however, when I was in Sfo, I had to go to the SIA boarding hate and exchanged with the SIA pass
They should be able to do that as they are within thestar alliance network
Is 1 hr 14 min enough time to make connection between SFO --> SYD? Flying United all the way from Boston.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Is 37 mins. enough time to make the connection flight b/t SFO (arriving 5:06pm) to KOA (departing 5:43pm) all from terminal 3?
It's possible if the flight from LAX is on-time.
Hi, I plan to fly from SEA to SFO with Alaska Airline arriving at 12:55pm, and then transfer to Korean Airline which will depart at 1:40pm. I know both airlines are using International Terminal Boarding Area A, but I wonder if it is possible to transfer between gates without having to leave the gate and then pass the security, and baggage rechecking. Thanks in advance!
If both tickets are on the same reservation that is possible. If you purchase two separate reservations and have checked bags that is not possible.
I am coming from Sydney to Portland OR via SFO by Qantas and Alaska Airlines. Since both airlines use the International terminal, will I still need to go through immigration before boarding my connecting flight to PDX on Alaska Airlines.
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. SFO is your entry point to the US.
We are flying from Toronto to Honolulu with United connecting in San Fran. Is two hours enough for a connection time? Will we need to go through security or customs/ immigration or will we just need to go to our gate? Thanks!
Also, it says Terminal change (although I'm not sure which terminal we arrive in/leave from), will we have to go through security again? Or recheck our bags (both flights are united)
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in San Francisco is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your first flight will be operated by Air Canada.
Just wondering if 2 hours will be enough time to go through customs/imigration and recheck in my bagage, landing 1pm for a flight 3pm to LA. Or will it be a rush to make it?
Not a us Citizen, have visa waiver
If you're arriving from an international destination, you will indeed have to go through customs and immigration. Two hours is enough time for this process if your flight into San Francisco is on time. You may need to rush a bit depending on the length of the queues.
Flying from Kona through San francisco to Toronto. We only have 50 minutes and have to change terminals. Flight gets in at 9 pm, will we have enough time to make the connection?
Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from Kona is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
