I'm a uk citizen returning home to U.K. from Australia with an 8 hour layover in SFO. If I have a U.S esta is it ok to leave the airport to see the sights.. thanks
Yes, you can leave the airport.
Thanks for the quick reply... now, I land about 9.00 a.m have I got time to see The Golden Gate, fishermans wharf, and ride a cable car and get back to airport by about 15.00. Best way to do this pls and any other suggestions if time available.. thank you
The best way to do that is the BART Train and walking. I think you have enough time.
Hello - I didn't realize we needed to go through security again at SFO. Is 2 hours enough connection time? I think we have a Terminal 2 arrival into SFO, Virgin Atlantic from IAD. Or is it possible to get to International Terminal from Terminal 2 via Terminal 3 and not leave the secured area? Thanks!
You have to go through security again. 2 hours is just enough time.
Dear Sir, Madam I am travelling to SF on the 14 th of July from Amsterdam into SF International Airport; I am travelling with 2 small kids, and I have European passport; I would be interested to learn what is the approx waiting time to go through security and luggage, etc upon arrival. Many thanks, Daniela
I have a very tight connection this afternoon at SFO so would you please tell me how long it will take for me to get from Terminal 3, Concourse E (Arrive 1:50 PM) to International Terminal, Concourse G (Depart 2:25 PM) and what is the fastest way to do it? Thanks for your help.
We are flying into SFO from Mexico City and then home to Orange County with a 1:45 hr. window. Both flights are United Airlines. Is that enough time to go through immigration and make it to our next flight?
Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I will be flying on United from Houston (IAH) to SFO, arriving at 9:40PM from Terminal C; and then transit SFO to Sydney on United at 10:35PM from Terminal 1. Will the 55 minutes transit time be sufficient to travel from Terminal C to T1. Thanks a lot.
Terminal C is your departure terminal from Houston. You will arrive in Terminal 3 in San Francisco and depart from the International Terminal concourse G. They are connected inside security. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from Houston is on-time.
I'm looking at a flight from Frankfurt to SFO, and then 2 hours later a connecting flight to Las Vegas. The international flight is aboard a A380. We would have checked bags and the immigration & customs to go through. Seems like a pretty narrow window... Is it worth taking the risk?
That is possible if both flights are on the same reservation and the first flight is on-time.
We are flying into San Francisco on united then connecting onto another united flight to Cancun. We obviously arrive at the international terminal but I think the Cancun flight is from terminal 3. Do we have to clear security for this? Thanks
The Cancun flight will depart from the International Terminal as well. Where are you flying into San Francisco from?
Sydney AU but on my itinerary it says the cancun flight was from terminal 3 which surprised me.
