I have a flight from KIX (Osaka, Japan) to SFO, then SFO to ORD (Chicago, IL) after a 90 minute layover. Will I need to claim bags, go through customs, then check in again for my second flight, or will I go through customs in Chicago?
In San Francisco you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thank you for the info., Zap--
Hi, Am intending (hoping) to be on UA flights out of IND to SFO and from SFO to SIN. The layover is 46min (2153hrs-2240hrs).. any advice as to the chances of me getting on or missing my flight?
That is possible if the first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I plan to take AS 1713 from Dallas Love Field to SFO on 9:40 am ETA, then take BR 7 on 00:20 pm from SFO to Taipei. Two separated reservations, so I need to claim baggages when arrival, recheck baggages for taking BR 7 fight, and pass through all the security checks. Will the 2 hours 40 minutes connecting time be enough for me? Thank you very much.
I plan to flight AS 1713, departed from Dallas Love Field and to arrive SFO on 9:40 am, and then transfer to the BR 7, scheduled to depart from SFO on 00:20 pm to Taipei. Is the 2 hours 40 minutes connecting time long enough for me to claim baggages and go through the security check? Thanks
That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'm scheduled to arrive at SFO's international terminal from Hong Kong on a Singapore Airlines flight at 9.15pm and I want to take a United flight to Seattle at 10.55pm. Will the 1hr 40min be enough time to make that connection? I have 1 checked bag so I will need to claim it and then pass it through security again, then make it to Terminal 3.
With the late evening arrival, you have a chance, but this is still somewhat risky.
I’m flying from LAX to San Francisco and have an hour layover to fly to Tel Aviv. All flights United. Will I make it? There’s no terminal info on the booking to know if I need to change
You arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from concourse G of the International Terminal. They are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time as all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi there, I plan on flying Portland to Auckland NZ VIA SFO on United/Air NZ through fare. Turnaround time in SFO is 1hr 25min. Enough time? Do I need to claim bags and put through International security or anything? Thank you
All you have to do on the way to New Zealand is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Hi, We are arriving at terminal 3 from OGG and then leaving from Terminal 3 again for Newark airport. Both United airiline flights. We only have 50 minutes between the flights, is this enough time? Do we need to pass security before going to our departure gate? I believe our bags will be already checked in from our initial flight.
Thanks,
Elena
All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
united flt 5562 from msp on Jan 4
Connects with united flt 1725 in SFO to go to Maui OGG
With 32 min layover. Is that enough time? And any data on liklihood of sucessful connections?
Thanks
That's possible but it obviously leaves no time to spare if the first flight is delayed.
We arrive at San Francisco Airport on United from Sydney at 6:30am to transfer to a 9:00am United domestic flight to Newark. Do we have to claim bags and go through security again? Is that plenty of time? How much time does it take to do this?
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.
What if my connecting flight is with United, the same company that I checked my bags with in Sydney? Would they not handle the bags from Sydney through the transfer of United planes in SFO to Newark??? Thanks for you insights.
You have to claim your bags in San Francisco to take them through US Customs, as that is your port of entry in the United States.
