Will be landing SFO @640am from AUH Etihad FLT. Do we have enough time to catch FLT to PDX Virigin air at 930am FLT

That should be plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks for the help! Yes the pre clearance at AUH makes trip to US bearable. But wasn't sure If we have enough time to catch the connection FLT.

  • Switching Delta to UA

Hi there - I am arriving from Auckland via UA and then having to switch to Delta, I arrive at 630AM and depart on Delta at 8AM, given that I will need to recheck my bag and go thru security again, in your experience is this enough time?

I should have mentioned too - if it matters, I am medallion and premium access - so if they have the premium lines, i should be able to use those

It will be very difficult, but not impossible. You'll have to hope the flight from Auckland is on-time, hurry to immigration, hope the lines are short, and hurry to Terminal 1 to re-check your bag before the cutoff.

Thanks - maybe I will try to fit everything into a carry on .. lol, guess it's been a while since i have come international back thru SFO, too bad I can't just do a transfer like most other airports...

Not sure if it matters - but it will be a Saturday morning that I arrive - not a weekday.

That will likely help a little bit.

Hi, I will be travelling from Tokyo (NRT) through SFO to YYZ (Toronto, Canada). My plane lands at 10:10am and leaves for Toronto at 11:45. Will I go through customs and will I have to recheck my bags? Will there be enough time?

Almost forgot, NRT-SFO is United, SFO-YYZ is Air Canada. They are Star Alliance partners.

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly.

We are flying Toronto to San Francisco on Air Canada, landing at the international terminal, then connecting to a United flight to Seattle. We have 85 minutes between flights. Are we able to get off the first flight and walk to the gate for the second flight? We are travelling on one ticket but will have checked luggage. Will we need to claim our luggage and recheck it and get UA boarding passes?

You don't have to do anything with your bags in SFO You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I am flying Swiss Air from Frankfurt to San Francisco arriving at 115pm. I then would like to take a flight on United to Austin at 325pm. Is that enough time to go through immigration/customs, pick up my bags, recheck them, go through security and get to my flight. I do have status with United so will be able to go through short security line.

Your first flight will be on Lufthansa or United, not Swiss. That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

My flight from Kansai lands at SFO at 11:15 am and my next flight has moved up and now takes off for DEN at 12:55. I have global entry. Will I need to get my luggage or go through security at SFO? Will I make it?

Yes, in SFO you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security. With Global Entry you should have enough time.

I have a flight from LAX to TLV with a 1h 8m layover in SFO. all flights with United. 1. Is it enough time? 2. Do I need to go through security again in San Francisco? 3. Do I need to change terminals? 4. Do I need to re-check my luggage? Thanks!

Yes, that is enough time. You will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Concourse G of the International Terminal. They are connected inside security by a walkway. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am on United from KOA (Hawaii) arriving at TERMINAL 3 at 5:28 am and need to connect to an Air Canada flight to Toronto leaving TERMINAL IN-INTL at 7:15 am. Is that enough time to connect and will I have to go through security at TERMINAL IN-INTL? Thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. Most Air Canada flights use Concourse G, which is connected to Terminal 3 inside security by a walkway.

Thanks for your help. As it turns out, the "International Passengers" link at www.flysfo.com has the info about Terminal 3 to Concourse G connections but I was not sure of the Concourse used by Air Canada (and the page displays arrivals info - you have to notice and click the departures tab at the top of the page).

  • Arrive United Terminal 3 needing to get to Southwest Terminal 1

I'm arriving at 5 am from Ogg to SFO via United. I have a connecting flight with Southwest at 6 10 am to Denver. I don't have to check bags or anything. How far amI from the terminal? Will I make it or are the terminals not designed to help me make my connecting flight through Southwest? I'll be traveling with 2 kids ages 6 and 7 so they will not walk as fast as me. Thanks in advance for your helpful knowledge!

It will be very difficult - you will have to change terminals and go through security again, although the early morning arrival does help.

you an't walk from the United terminal to the Southwest terminal without exiting and reentering security?

Can't you walk from the United terminal to the Southwest terminal without exiting and reentering security?

No, Southwest uses Terminal 1 which is not connected to any other terminals inside security.

Going from g98 to e62 will my husband have to go through security? He has a very tight connection
