  • getting from US Airway terminal to United terminal
    Mar 12, 2014
Is a one hour delay enough time to get from US airway flight 662 arriving 10:10 am to United flight departing at 11:25 am

Yes, it should be as long as you either don't have checked bags or they are checked through to United. I don't think you will have enough time if you have to transfer bags yourself.

  • overnight'ing in sfo
    Mar 2, 2014
i have an overnight cnnxn in sfo. i land around 9pm via AA. i need to go to baggage and claim my bags. now i read that delta has a sky club BEFORE going through security. i am a sky club member. so would it be possible to land, exit security, grab my bags, and then go to the sky club until it closes at midnight? then, when sky club closes, i can sleep "somewhere" in baggage claim. and then the next morning check in for my early flight? are the logistics of this doable? thanks

I arrive from Chicago terminal 3 and have 50 min to get to terminal 1 is it possible and what is the quickest way?

If arriving flight is on time - 50 minutes should be enough. You can walk or take the AirTrain - in both instances you need to go through security check at T1 before proceeding to Boarding Area B (gates 20-39). (AirTrain's Red Line stops at all 4 terminals & Parking, making a continuous loop.

  • Is an hour enough time?
    Mar 18, 2014
I am going from SFO United domestic to United international OKA, no checked bags and I have an hour layover, is that enough time to make my international flight?

You arrive at SFO, Terminal 3 (T3) & need to get to the Internatinal Terminal with G gates 91-102. Domestic passengers transferring from T3 to the International Terminal may transfer via a connector walkway (located post-secuirty near gate 75) to the International Terminal's Boarding Area G arriving at post-security near gate G92. You have enough time.

What do you mean by "post-security"? Is T3 and International Terminal Boarding Area G connected with a connector walkway that eliminates the need to go through Customs Border Protection? I am on United Airlines flying in from Canada to SFO connecting with United Airlines to Narita. Will the 1.5 hr layover be enough?

going from a United flight to local skywest flight is it in the same terminal

United Express flights operated by SkyWest use both Terminal 3 and Terminal 1. United runs a shuttle bus inside security between them.

  • UAL (term 3) to Alaska air (Term 1)- 56 min
    Jan 31, 2014
I'll be arriving on a regional United Air prop plane, assuming it will be in Terminal 3...connecting to Alaska air in terminal 1. Can I walk from one terminal to another? Will the United shuttle take me to terminal 1? No checked bags, just carry on. Any help appreciated. Is this connection possible? Can I take the United shuttle van from

A lot of the United prop plane flights arrive in Terminal 1, so if you do you can just walk to your Alaska gate. If you do arrive in Terminal 3 then you can take the United shuttle bus to 1. How long do you have to make your connection?

56 minutes...but its really less when you consider when they stop the boarding process.

That's pretty short considering it's between two airlines that aren't alliance partners. You will definitely have to check in online for your Alaska flight before you depart on your first flight. I probably wouldn't have booked that, but it's possible. Good luck.

I ended up not booking the ticket after all. Thanks for your feedback!

  • Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 (PSP-SFO-YEG)
    Jan 20, 2014
Hi, we have 54 minutes to get from United Airlines Terminal 1 (inbound from PSP) to United Airlines Terminal 3 for a connecting outbound flight from SFO to YEG. Bags will be checked through to YEG. Can we make it? Will we need to go through security in T3? Thanks for your advice.

United runs a shuttle bus inside security between T1 and T3 if you need to transfer between them (you may not have to). You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Thanks very much! Appreciate the info!

  • Domestic to international connection
    Jan 11, 2014
Hi I have 1 hour between a domestic flight of Virgin America to taking an international flight by Delta Air. Is 1 hour sufficient to take the flight?

It is not possible if you have checked baggage to transfer. Delta and Virgin America do not have an interline baggage agreement, so you would have to move bags between airlines yourself and go through security, you won't have enough time to do that. Even without checked baggage it will be very difficult. You will have to change one of your flights.

  • 2 hour connection - LAS SFO YYZ
    Jan 7, 2014
Flying on United on a single ticket without checking in baggage and a 2 hour connection time in SFO between LAS and YYZ. I think this is a domestic to international flight? Would 2 hour connection be sufficient?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All United gates at SFO are connected beyond security.

  • 56mins enough for UAL connection?
    Jan 5, 2014
We are arrivin from San Diego an changing to UAL's flight to HNL in 56mins. Is that enough for us and our checked bags?

Yes, that should be enough time. All United flights are connected beyond security at SFO.

Ok, and even the bags will make it?

There's no guarantee, but they should.

  • T3 to international in 59 min?
    Dec 23, 2013
Being offered a ticket from Vegas to Europe for a good price but it includes flying in to SFO T3 (United) then out on Lufthansa 59 min later. Bags should be checked through, but I still doubt whether this is feasible?

There is a secure-side connection between T3 and the International terminal. If your first flight is on-time you will be able to make your connection as all you will have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Domestic to International Connection: Alaska Air then Singapore Air
    Dec 21, 2013
Hello - I have an approximately three (3) hour layover in San Francisco arriving domestically on Alaska Airlines then departing from the International Terminal on Singapore Airlines. I'm not sure they will check my luggage through as these are separate tickets. I arrive at Terminal B and depart at Terminal G. I'm wondering if there is a shuttle that will allow me to skip picking up my bags, then rechecking them at Singapore Air? Something that bypasses security? If not, three hours? Is that enough? Thanks in Advance!

Sorry, I guess it's Terminal 1 and the International Terminal....I was thinking about the gates...

No, if your bags are not checked through to Singapore Airlines you will have to pick them up at the Alaska baggage claim, take them to Singapore, and re-check them, and then go back through security.

Also, 3 hours should be plenty of time to do that.

Turns out that Alaska Air has an agreement with Singapore Airlines so they will check my bags straight through. I'll just need to clear customs. Thanks for the info!

  • Cnxn from united intl to united Skywest
    Dec 16, 2013
Is 90 min enough to clear customs and exit the international terminal to the united Skywest terminal ?

After customs clearance, onward passengers will exit Arrivals Hall through dedicated doors indicating 'Connecting Flights', where they will re-check in bags at the baggage desk directly outside of the exit. You connecting terminal will be Terminal 3 (United - code-sharing with Skywest). To get to T3 you have two choices: (a) take the AirTrain's red line at either station A or G below the Main Hall (but need to go through security check), or (b) use the short connector between Boarding Area G and Terminal 3 and its F gates. You should have enough time for transfer.
