Sarasota Bradenton (SRQ) Airport
Sarasota Bradenton SRQ Airport Overview
SRQ Airport is only five miles from downtown Sarasota, between Tampa Bay and Ft. Myers, and is accessible from Interstate Hwy 75, exit 213 (University Pkwy west).
With two runways and an estimated 1.2 million passengers annually, Sarasota Bradenton International is served by major airlines offering direct flights to U.S. hubs with global connections, as well as by Air Canada with direct seasonal flights to Toronto. Sarasota also receives charter flights from Europe.
The passenger terminal at Sarasota Bradenton Airport, which has undergone recent renovation work (some of which is still to be completed) is easy to navigate, with a most pleasant appearance - featuring a lobby display of exotic plants, a display & information about products manufactured in that area, artwork, memorabilia, and a 6,000 gallon saltwater aquarium on the upper level. Airline ticketing, baggage claim, & other services are steps away from the main concourse and the commuter gates, while short- and long-term parking lots are adjacent to the main terminal.
The lower level houses baggage claim, rental car and airline ticketing desks; with a newly renovated check-in area;
the upper level offers amenities and leads to the departure gates. Past the security checkpoint are gates B1 to B14 - the international gate is B8.
Current airlines serving the terminal: Air Canada, American, Delta, JetBlue, US Airways, United. WestJet seasonal service from Toronto Fridays & Sundays starts Dec. 2015.
Current and future Airport Developments: Remaining renovation work on second level concourse, third level offices & baggage claim are to be completed by 2016.
