  • Transfer Bags Between Airlines
    Aug 4, 2015
We are flying JetBlue from Anchorage to Seattle Mon 8/11; we fly Southwest from Seattle to Chicago then STL; can I arrange for the two airlines to transfer the checked bags or do we need to exit the terminal claim the bags from JetBlue and then re-check with Southwest? Info/suggestions appreciated. Thankd

No, Southwest does not transfer bags to or from any other airlines. You will have to claim your bags from JetBlue and re-check them with Southwest.

  • 40 min layover in SEA, enough time to have airline transfer my bag?

Hi I am flying Delta airline from Vancouver (YVR) to Shanghai (PVG) via Seattle. There is only 40 min between the two flights, will there be enough time for Delta airline to transfer my checked in bag from one Delta flight to the next? I am afraid they won't have enough time and I will lose my bag.

It certainly doesn't leave much time to spare but it should be enouugh time.

We are flying home from vegas in June with Alaska air Our flight leaves Las Vegas with a one hour layover in Seattle before leaving for victoria Does anyone know if .... 1) our bags are checked all the way from vegas to Victoria 2) a one hour layover is long enough to make our next flight

Yes, your bags will be checked through to Victoria. Yes, an hour should be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

we'll be flying from Edmonton to Singapore, with a stop in Seattle and Tokyo. All the flights will be operated by Delta Airlines. Do we need to claim our baggage in Seattle and re-check it in again?

No, you will not. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton.

Hello! I just booked a trip to Hawaii and thought I'd save myself the hassle of going through customs in Vancouver (meaning I would have to claim my bags, go through customs and then recheck my bags) BUT what I didn't realize was that my flight changes airlines! Once at SEA I switch over to Hawaiian Airlines. Am I going to have to get my bags from somewhere and then recheck them?? (and yes, the tickets were all booked together)

If your tickets were purchased together your bags will be checked through to Honolulu once you preclear US Customs in Edmonton.
