Hello, I'm arriving at 4.10 pm to Seattle and then I have to catch a flight departing at 5.00 pm. That gives 50 minutes of layover, however, the problem is that my next flight is to Beijing. Will I need to go through any additional checking/immigration inspection? Please, can anyone tell me if that is manageable in that time? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

If both flights are on Delta all you have to do in Seattle is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US.

Flying from SFO to SEA on Alaska. Arriving at 10:30am. Then flying to PVG departing at 12:00pm on a same reservation in S Gate. Do I need go through another security checkpoint again? Assuming 1 hour 30 is enough time? Thanks!

You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You do not have to go through security.

Is 50 minutes enough time to connect from Vancouver through Seattle en route to Juneau? Will I need to collect and recheck my bags in Seattle or can I go through a pre-flight customs process in Vancouver?

  • 10 hours layover - Can I leave the airport?

Hi, I'm arriving SEA at 7:47am from HKG. My next flight doesn't leave SEA until 6:15pm. There is a total of 10 hours 28 minutes layover. Can I leave the airport? If yes, will I need to pick up my luggage or will it be checked through to my final destination? Both flights are Delta. Thanks a lot!

Yes, you can leave the airport. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then you can go to the main terminal to leave the airport on the underground train. Be back at the airport by 4 PM.

Hey I have a connecting flight to frankfurt. Will 2 hours 45 mins be sufficient time to switch in Seattle? Under the same reservation. i.e Lufthansa. With one 'checked' in baggage? ThankYous

Yes, that is plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Even though i am not a US/Canadian passport holder? Have a US visit visa though

Yes, everyone departing Vancouver on a flight to the US pre-clears US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.

My mother is travelling from San Francisco to Frankfurt (with Layover of 1 hour at Seattle Airport), Is it manageable to onboard connecting flight to on time at Seattle airport? Will there be departure flight to Frankfurt from Satellite S?

Yes, you will depart from the S Satellite. If both flights are on the same reservation that is enough time.

i'm flying dfw to kelowna, bc but i have a layover in SEA that is only 50 minutes long. will that be enough time and what all do i have to do when i get to SEA? can i just go straight to my next terminal or do i have to go through customs and everything else

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle on your way to Kelowna is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I have two different reservations: Chicago to Seattle, then Seattle to Seoul South Korea. Do I need to re-check the bags? how much time do I need in between those flights? are domestic flights and international flights flying out from different terminals?

Seattle only has one terminal. What airlines are you flying?

I am flying to Seattle with Alaska airlines and flying out from Seattle with Korean Airlines at 12:55pm. and I haven't booked the ticket to Seattle yet, but there are two flights availalbe with Alaska airlines.

Since you are booking two separate tickets you will have to go to the main terminal, claim your bags, re-check them with Korean, go through security and to your departure gate. As such I would want at least 2.5 hours, so arrive before 10:30.

I am travelling from Beijing to Seattle by Hainan airlines and later by Alaskan Airlines from Seattle to Salt Lake City .Both tickets are on the same reservation.I will have one checked luggage. I have 2hr and 40min connection in SEA.The flight will arrive in SEA at 11:35 AM ,I wonder if that will be a busy period. Is 2 hr and 40 min enough time to through US Immigration, claim baggage, go through customs, re-check luggage ,go through security and get to the other terminal/gate?

Yes, that should be enough time - no need to ask the same question twice.

Hi, I'm arriving to SEA at 1:16pm from ICN (Korea). I know I'll have to go through customs, but I'm wondering if I'll have enough time to leave the airport? My next flight doesn't leave SEA until 11:10pm. Also, will I have to pick up my luggage or will it be checked through to my final destination? Both flights into and out of SEA are on Delta. Thanks!

Yes, you will have to go through S Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. That is enough time if you want to leave the airport. Plan on being back at the airport by 9 PM.

Hi, I have booked 2 separate tickets: From Denver to SeaTac, lay over 1hr 55min, then SeaTac to London. I was wondering if I'll be able to catch the international flight if I have to check-in my luggage. Thank you.

With checked baggage it will be difficult but not impossible for you to transfer your bags from the baggage claim to the check in desk for your Airline to London and then go through security in the time alotted.

Hi I'm traveling from SNA to YYC via Seattle using delta airlines. The layover is 29 minutes. I didn't notice is until they emailed me a few days ago. is it enough time to get to connect? will they be in the same terminal if Both flights are on delta air?

Seattle only has one terminal. It's possible if the flight from SNA is on-time but obviously leaves no time to spare if it is not.

  • Is 3 hr layover long enough to leave SEA airport?

I have a 3 hr layover in Seattle on my way to Vancouver. Is 3 hours long enough to go have brunch somewhere outside of the airport?

    No, it is not.

  • Is 32 min layover for connecting Delta flight enough?
    May 5, 2016

Hi, We are traveling from San Jose to Anchorage via Seattle and we have just 32min layover to the connection flight in Seattle. Is this time sufficient? Information on arrival terminal and departure terminals is not known and I hope, they would be same. Also, what about the checked-in baggage? Will they be able to move them to the connecting flight in those 32mins? Thanks in advance

Seattle only has one terminal. If all flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If the first flight is on-time you and your bags can make it.
