  • 2hr and 40 min layover
    Aug 11, 2016
I am travelling from Beijing to Seattle by Hainan airlines and later by Alaskan Airlines from Seattle to Salt Lake City .Both tickets are on the same reservation.I will have one checked luggage. I have 2hr and 40min connection in SEA.The flight will arrive in SEA at 11:35 AM ,I wonder if that will be a busy period. Is 2 hr and 40 min enough time to through US Immigration, claim baggage, go through customs, re-check luggage ,go through security and get to the other terminal/gate?

Yes, that should be enough time - no need to ask the same question twice.

  • ICN-SEA Layover - Leave the airport?
    Aug 11, 2016
Hi, I'm arriving to SEA at 1:16pm from ICN (Korea). I know I'll have to go through customs, but I'm wondering if I'll have enough time to leave the airport? My next flight doesn't leave SEA until 11:10pm. Also, will I have to pick up my luggage or will it be checked through to my final destination? Both flights into and out of SEA are on Delta. Thanks!

Yes, you will have to go through S Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. That is enough time if you want to leave the airport. Plan on being back at the airport by 9 PM.

  • Layover 1hr55min SEA-TAC international flight
    Jul 23, 2016
Hi, I have booked 2 separate tickets: From Denver to SeaTac, lay over 1hr 55min, then SeaTac to London. I was wondering if I'll be able to catch the international flight if I have to check-in my luggage. Thank you.

With checked baggage it will be difficult but not impossible for you to transfer your bags from the baggage claim to the check in desk for your Airline to London and then go through security in the time alotted.

  • 3 hour layover

I'm traveling from AMSTERDAm To SEATTLE Tacoma and arriving at 11:19 am. I have separate booking to Spokane at 4:00 pm. I'm non-Us Citizen. Is that enough layover time to make it to my Spokane flight?? Thanks

  • 29 minutes layover in SEA
    May 25, 2016
Hi I'm traveling from SNA to YYC via Seattle using delta airlines. The layover is 29 minutes. I didn't notice is until they emailed me a few days ago. is it enough time to get to connect? will they be in the same terminal if Both flights are on delta air?

Seattle only has one terminal. It's possible if the flight from SNA is on-time but obviously leaves no time to spare if it is not.

  • Is 3 hr layover long enough to leave SEA airport?
    May 12, 2016
I have a 3 hr layover in Seattle on my way to Vancouver. Is 3 hours long enough to go have brunch somewhere outside of the airport?

    No, it is not.

  • Is 32 min layover for connecting Delta flight enough?
    May 5, 2016
Hi, We are traveling from San Jose to Anchorage via Seattle and we have just 32min layover to the connection flight in Seattle. Is this time sufficient? Information on arrival terminal and departure terminals is not known and I hope, they would be same. Also, what about the checked-in baggage? Will they be able to move them to the connecting flight in those 32mins? Thanks in advance

Seattle only has one terminal. If all flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If the first flight is on-time you and your bags can make it.

  • SFO-SEAttle - London Heathow - 75 minutes, international flight
    Apr 24, 2016
My parents will fly from San Francisco to Seattle airport, then will transfer to LOndon Heathrow. Do they need to go through US Custom in Seattle and picked up they luggage again?

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. If both tickets are on the same reservation then they just need to go from their arrival gate to their departure gate.

  • Fairbanks Seattle Calgary layover
    Apr 24, 2016
We are two Australian seniors travelling from Fairbanks to Calgary on July 9, 2016. Our flight schedule is as follows: 06:30 Alaska Airlines 126 Fairbanks to Seattle Washington arriving 11:05. 21:20 Alaska Airlines 2126 (Horizon Air) Seattle to Calgary arriving 23:59. We have a long layover in Seattle. Is there enough time to leave the airport and check into a nearby hotel for some sleep? If we leave the airport, at what time do we have to be back at the airport to clear customs and immigration, before the flight to Calgary. If we cannot leave the airport (because we have to remain in transit), is there a someplace like a lounge where we could stretch out?

Yes, you have time, but you would have to confirm with the hotel that a room would be ready for you at noon and you would only get to sleep for maybe 5-6 hours. There is no US Customs or Immigration when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Calgary.

  • Domestic to International layover times
    Apr 24, 2016
Hi, I'm flying into SEATAC with Alaska Airlines and then departing with Condor to Frankfurt. These are separate reservations and I will have checked luggage. Is two and half hours enough time to make my connecting flight and will I have to go through the TSA check again?

Yes, you will have to go to the main terminal, claim your bags from Alaska, re-check them with Condor, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have just enough time.

    Great, thank you.

  • Transit time for immigration
    Apr 21, 2016
Im taking a flight from HongKong to LA, but I have to stop in seattle. If the luggage is sent the whole way to LA, do I need to have more than 1,45 h for immigration?

Your bags will be tagged to LAX but you will have to claim them to go through US Customs then immediately re-check them at the re-check desk afterwards. You should have just enough time.

Do I need more time for my visa?

  • Juneau to Calgary via Seattle, 48-minute layover is enough?
    Mar 30, 2016
Hello!, I am flying from Juneau to Calgary via Seattle with Delta Air Lines. Is 48-minute layover in Seattle airport is enough for transit? taken into account that I am not Canadian/US citizen? Thank you!

Yes, that is enough time. Your citizenship doesn't matter. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration and customs when leaving the US. You just have to show your passport when boarding the flight to Calgary. You go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Calgary.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply! An

some info about traveling dubai to seattle and then edmonton. will i clear immigration in seattle or just change the gate for next flight?

Yes, in Seattle you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate. You need at least 2 hours to do this assuming everything is on the same reservation.

  • 10 hours layover
    Mar 22, 2016
I'm flying from Singapore to Edmonton with a 10 hour layover in SEA via Delta. I'm holding a Philippine passport with a valid US visa, can I go outside the airport for a short day trip?

Yes, you can leave the airport since you have a US Visa.

hi zap! i dont have a valid us visa.. but i also have a layover in SEA via Delta. Is that mean that i cant go outside? thanks

Thanks Zap! I have a connecting flight, do i have to collect my luggage?

Alice, you need a US Visa to transit the US if you are of a nationality that requires a US Visa to visit the US. ***, I can't answer your question unless I know where you're flying from and to and on what airline.

  • Clearing Customs
    Mar 3, 2016
I am flying from Vancouver to dallas and change planes in Seattle with a 1 1/2 hr layover. Will I have to go through customs in Seattle and if so do I have enough time and do I have to get my bags and recheck?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
