I will be landing at midnight and departing at 5am on a Tuesday morning. Any layover ideas?

Lay on the floor and watch a movie on your tablet/phone/computer.

Hello. I am flying form Portland to Seattle via Alsaka Airline and then ANA to Narita. 1. Does my luggages tagged all the way to Narita or I need to re-check my luggages at Seattle. 2. Is 2 hrs layover time sufficient. 3. How am I going to move form domestic to international terminal in Seattle, do I need to clear immigration in Seattle. 4. How about my boarding pass to Narita. The flights are under 1 single ticket. Appreciate kind advise. Thank you.

Since you purchased your tickets on a single reservation your bags will be tagged through to Narita and all you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate in C, D, or N to your departure gate in S via the underground trains. Alaska should be able to issue both boarding passes in Portland. Note that Seattle does not have separate "domestic" and "international" terminals.

Flying into Seattle from Canada for a layover on our way to Korea. The layover is 7 hours. Wife and I were wondering do we have enough time to go downtown grab a bite to eat, wander a bit, and head back in time for international check in? Also suggestions on where to eat?

Yes, that would be enough time to spend an hour or two downtown.

  • can we check our bag and then leave the airport
    Aug 19, 2015
we will have about a 6 hour wait between the time we arrive at the airport from the pier and our flight home departs, about 6 hours. is there a place to leave our bags so we can do a little sightseeing in seattle?

The airport isn't really that close to anything, so I would try to sightsee with your bags and then go to the airport. But yes, you can check your bags and then leave the airport if you want.

  • Boston-Seattle-Vancouver - 1hr 6mins layover
    Aug 17, 2015
Hi there, we are a party of 4 - with Irish passports travelling from Boson to Vanocuver with Alaska air/Horizon. We arrive at 1004pm Sept 14 and leave at 1110pm for Vancouver. Will this be enough time. How far will the terminals be from each other - I have my elderly parents with me.

Seattle only has one terminal. Alaska/Horizon use the C, D, and N concourses. N is connected to C and D inside security by an underground train. You should have enough time if your flight from Boston is on-time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Lay Over in SEATTLE

Hi! I am planning to purchase a ticket to Victoria, Canada (end destination) via Delta Airlines (Manila to Tokyo to Seattle) and Alaska Airlines (Seattle to Victoria), vice versa for the return flight. Will I need to get a US transit visa if my lay over is 6.5 hours in Seattle? I have no plans to go out of Seattle airport. I am a Philippine citizen and I only have a Canadian tourist visa. Thank you!

Yes, you will need a US Transit Visa. Either plan on going directly to Canada without stopping int he US or get a US Transit Visa.

  • Is an Hour enough?
    Aug 11, 2015
Hello, looking at a booking for Calgary - Seattle - San Diego with Delta Airlines. It is offering an hour between landing and boarding the next flight. We have a 5 and 6 year old that will be in tow. Is this an unrealistic connection time?

That is very feasible. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Can I leave the gate to see a friend?
    Aug 11, 2015
I will be on my first solo flight and have a three hour layover in Seattle SEA airport. It is a domestic flight and my final destination is GEG Spokane. I have a friend who lives in Seattle and would like to meet her and have lunch. Can I leave the gate and reenter? Do I have to check in again? And if so will I have enough time to leave or should I invite her to meet me at the airport and dine in or near it before I have to leave?

Yes, you can leave the gate area and re-enter, no, you don't have to check in again, just keep your boarding pass with you. I don't think you'll really have much time.

  • Is 55 minutes enough?!
    Jul 29, 2015
Flying from Edmonton > Seattle > Spokane...I assume we will have to go through customs during our flight change in Seattle (Alaska airlines, although it says that the Calgary>Seattle part is with Skyview airlines operating under Alaska) -- is it feasible to think we can change flights in such a short period?

You assume incorrectly. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates are connected inside security.

  • 45 min layover
    Jul 17, 2015
I am flying in from Incheon, Korea to San Fran CA with a layover in Seattle. My layover is only 45 mins, is that enough time to get to my next gate? I am 18 and this is my first time flying alone and only 2nd time flying to the states. Also, would I have to get my bags and recheck them in or will I be able to go straight to my gate?

I forgot to mention I am flying Delta

No, a 45 minute international to Domestic connection in Seattle is impossible. Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security. You need to contact your travel agent or Delta and get rebooked on a legal connection.

  • Short layover
    Jun 18, 2015
I am flying on Delta from Detroit to Anchorsge, connecting through Seattle. However, the layover is only 35 minutes. Is this too short of time to connect even though the flights were booked together through the same airline? I will only have a carry on bag.

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All gates in Seattle are connected inside security.

I am flying by B.A. from London Heathrow to Seattle - transferring to Alaska Airlines and flying onto Spokane. Do I need to collect my bags from the Carousel and recheck in or will they automatically be transferred as I have just one ticket for the complete journey? If my bags are not automatically transferred etc. will I have plenty of time to do this (3 hours)?

In Seattle you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check them at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and take the underground train to your departure gate in the C, D, or N concourse. You have plenty of time.

Thank you very much - would it be the same procedure in reverse on return?

No, on the return you will only need to go from your arrival gate in C, D, or N to your departure gate in S. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

  • Connecting Flight time
    Jun 10, 2015
I will have about 90 mins to connect in SEA to SFO coming from PEK on Delta. Is this enough time to clear customs, get to the gate, etc?

that should barely be enough time.

Thanks ZAP, My other question is: I'm a U.S. Citizen, on 10/12/15 will take DL128 flight form PEK, should arrive in SEA at 1:10 pm, then I need to catch a 2:45pm DL5738 flight to SFO, since only have 95 minutes layover, if I missing the flight due to delete, customs, etc; will Delta assign a next available flight to Me? If they don't have any seat available the day, do I have chance to get on other airline?

Yes, if you miss your connection they will rebook you on the next available Delta flight. If the delay was your fault and what they offer you is unacceptable you can press them to put you on another airline. They can book you on a United or Alaska flight to SFO if necessary, but they are reluctant to do so unless forced to.

am flying from PDX to JED saudi arabia, i have two stops: 1st in SEA with 1hr layover & 2nd in Paris, then from paris to saudi arabia. My ques. is: after check-in in Portland, and arriving SEA; Do i'll have to go through customs and collect my bags and re check-in ? or i can go directly to my next flight gate. Knowing that i purchase 1-tkt with one reservation. And should 1hr is enough time !!? pls advice.

You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.
