I am flying from Bozeman to Seatle, I have one hour and 20 minutes to catch a international flight to Dubai. How best I could utilize this time, Do I have to under go an imigration process. I am flying by Alska to Seatle and then BY emirates to Dubai. Are there connecting train services to go from the Domestic Gate to the International get. Appreciate if you could give the direction please.

If your bags are tagged through to Dubai all you have to do is take the train to your departure gate in S. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US.

We are arriving from Amsterdam on Monday at 3:59PM, departing to Maui/HI at 5:26PM. Last flight on that day. Both flights are on one ticket. We are European Citizens with Luggage. Any hints how we can make it to the connection flight? Thanks for your help!

Hope your flight from Amsterdam is on-time and hurry.

NH178 NRTSEA 1730/1050 AS2384 SEA/YYJ 1255/1339 The above flights are booked on separate tickets. Do I have enough time for this connection? Do I have to go through US Immigration, US customs and re-check in my baggage again at the counter in SEA Airport?

Yes, you will have to do all of that. You have barely enough time.

Thanks, ZAP! Does it help if I am on Business Class from NRT-SEA (ANA) and I have an APEC card?

    Yes, that helps.

Arriving from LAX on Alaskan Air at 11:04pm to connect to Alaskan air to anchorage at 11:45pm. Only carry-on luggage. Will I make it on time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Non US Citizen arriving International in transit to Canada

Hi, we are arriving from Iceland into Seattle with a connection on to Vancouver, our transit time is 1hr 20 mins - do we need to clear customs, collect baggage and recheck baggage for our onward flight? Will we have time with the short transit time.(non US/Canadian citizens)

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. if you purchased your reservation on one ticket you can then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, otherwise you have to go to the main terminal to re-check your bags. Either way 80 minutes is not enough time. You need a later flight to Vancouver.

  • 1.5 hr connection time
    Sep 27, 2015
Hello. I am a non-US citizen and will take a DL flight from Hong Kong to Portland, stopover at Seattle, both flights are arranged by Delta. In this case, do I still need to go through US Immigration when arriving Seattle? And claim my bags, go through US customs, re-check my bags, change terminals, and go through security again? I only have 1.5 hr connection time in between. Enough time to do so? Thanks.

Yes, you will have to do all that, you barely have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

That should be enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

Yes, that should be enough time. all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates at Seattle are connected inside security.

    Thanks for the info.

  • Intl to Domestic change of planes with checked luggage
    Sep 15, 2015
I'm flying from India to Seattle on 1 ticket and then SEA to Montana on a 2nd ticket. I have a 2 hour layover in SEA and will have checked luggage. Is this doable?

That probably isn't enough time. The Immigration hall at SEA has become very overcrowded so I think that by the time you get through immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, and then transfer your bags to the main terminal and go there yourself, you will be past the bag check cutoff for your flight to Montana.

Thanks! Think I'll change my second flight for later in the evening.

I am flying from Vancouver to Frankfur, but stops in Seattle for 1 h 25 min. I have bough the ticket together. I am not a Canadian or U.S. citizen. Do I have to go though immigration and do I have do recheck my luggage? And will a have enough time (flying on at thuesday at 2:00 pm

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. you should have enough time.

  • Terminal Connection
    Sep 11, 2015
Hello, I'm arriving from YYJ ( Victoria International airport), and going to SLC ( Salt Lake city) via Seattle. And I have 1h 20m between the flights. However, I found that I'll arrive at N satellite, and depart at C satellite. In this case, do I need to pass the US immigration ? Can I just go right away to C satellite ? Thank you

Actually you will not arrive the N Satellite as it does not have US Immigration. You will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags, then go through security and take the train to C. This is a very difficult connection as the Immigration area in Seattle has gotten very congested in the past year during certain parts of the day. Hopefully your flight from Victoria arrives when it is not congested.

It's theoretically possible, but there's no room for any delays.
