  • Connection with Delta airline with checked luggage
    Feb 11, 2016
I will have connected flight from Denver to SEATTLE/TACOMA, and then to Shanghai, China. I will likely have one checked luggage, and the lay over time in SEATTLE/TACOMA is 64 minutes. Is that time enough for the checked luggage to transit to the next flight, and for me to make the connection? Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • International Connection
    Feb 11, 2016
Flying from San Francisco to Seattle on Delta with a 30 min. layover before the next flight to Amsterdam. Is that enough time? Will we have to do go customs or immigration in Seattle?

There is no US Immigration or customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time as long as your flight from SFO is on-time.

  • Is 75 minutes enough for connection and custom?
    Feb 8, 2016
I and my infant son will fly from Beijing to Dallas with a stop at Seattle Airport with only 75 minutes connection. We will only have one baggage. I assume we will have to go through the custom. How hard is the transfer? Will we make it?

That is not enough time. The minimum international to domestic connection time in Seattle is 90 minutes with 2 hours recommended.

  • Horizon connect to Alaska Intl
    Feb 8, 2016
I have 50 minutes to change planes (w/carry-on) to an Alaska Int'l flight to Cabo, will I make? I'll have my boarding pass.

Yes, that should be enough time. All gates in Seattle are connected inside security.

  • alaska airline to emirates air.
    Feb 9, 2016
I am coming from Calgary to Seattle on Alaska Airlines to take Emirates airline to Dubai, the layover is 3 hours. Where can I find gate terminal connection details?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. You will arrive in concourse C, D, or N and depart from concourse S. If all tickets are on the same reservation you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. An underground train connects S to the other concourses inside security.

    Thank you

How can I get Alaska air arriving to emerite air departure

Do you have checked bags? Are all your tickets on the same reservation or not? Where is your Alaska Airlines flight from? I can't answer your question without that information.

No checked bag I coming from phoenix going to dubai

Then you can just take the under ground train or trains from your arrival gate in C, D, or N to your departure gate in S.

  • Connection query
    Feb 4, 2016
We are arriving from Honolulu on Alaska Air to Seattle then getting British Airways flight 75 mins later. Alaska air said we can have luggage labelled in Honolulu to go straight through to our British Airways flight. Is 75mins enough? Do we need to go to check in at British Airways? The flights are bought on 2 tickets.

If you are on two separate reservations then the Alaska desk in Honolulu may have trouble issuing your BA boarding passes, in which case you should get them from the departure gate.

  • Connection from Iceland
    Feb 4, 2016
As Alaska has cancelled my original connection, I now have 65 min. connection time from an incoming Icelandair flight to an Alaska flight going to Santa Ana. It's a Saturday early evening. If I only take carry-on and check in before could I make it, even with immigration?

With carry-on only it might be possible. I wouldn't bet on it, but it wouldn't be impossible. I would call Alaska and ask them to rebook you for the following morning, that the schedule change was unacceptable, and spend the night in a hotel.

  • 1hr 35 mins Interline connection
    Feb 4, 2016
I'm looking at booking a flight with a 1.35 hr connection, Anchorage - Seattle, Seattle - Calgary. First flight is with Alaska Airlines, second flight is with West Jet. I believe as they have an Interline agreement this allows Alaska airlines to issue the boarding pass for both flights? Would it also mean the transfer of baggage or would I need to collect and re-check-in, and if so is this too tight a time-frame? This flight option is not offered on either websites but through a booking engine. TIA

If both tickets are purchased on the same reservation then your baggage will be transferred and all you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Alaska transfering to Hawaiian
    Feb 3, 2016
If I'm coming into Seattle from Spokane on Alaska; can I make my connecting flight on Hawaiian Airlines to LIH without going through security? How much time shoule I allow at 8:00 am on a Tuesday, non holiday

If you don't have any checked bags, then you won't have to go through security as long as you check in online for your Hawaiian flight before you leave Spokane. I would still want at least an hour for my connection, so that probably means leaving on the first flight out of Spokane to Seattle.

If you need to check a bag or don't want to worry about running to make your connection if the flight is late, I suggest flying or driving into Seattle the night before.

  • switching airlines
    Feb 2, 2016
Flying alaska and changing to united. How much time is needed to switch airlines? Do I need to go through security again?

Will you have any checked bags?

Not planning to check any bags.

Then without checked bags you can make your connection in an hour. Check in online for your United flight before you leave on your Alaska flight. You won't have to go through security.

    Thank you!

  • San Jose (CA) - Seattle - Amsterdam
    Feb 1, 2016
Hi, I have a flight from San Jose (CA) to Amsterdam, with 35 min layover in Seattle, all flights are operated by Delta. Once in Seattle I just have to go from one gate to the other OR do I have to pass through immigration and everything? I'm afraid is too little time (don't know how long does it take to move between gates). Thanks

There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your flight to Amsterdam will depart from the S concourse and your flight from San Jose could arrive in the A or S concourse. if you arrive in A you will have to hurry to the underground train to S. You will barely have enough time and have to hope your flight from San Jose is on-time.

  • From Shanghai to Seattle then Seattle to San Francisco
    Feb 1, 2016
Hello, I will take Hainan Airlines in Shanghai and arrive at Seattle - Terminal S. Due to the change the Alaska airlines made to my itinerary, I will only have 1 hour 40 mins to catch my next flight, at Terminal N from Seattle to San Francisco. Do I have enough time?

S and N are concourses, not Terminals. It is still possible to make your connection if all tickets are on the same reservation, but you have little time to spare.

Do you know if I need to get my baggage and go through the security again in Seattle?

    Yes, you will.

  • Flying from BOI to LGW through SEA and YYC
    Feb 2, 2016
Hi. My girlfriend leaves Boise on June 7th at 8:35, makes a layover in Seattle at 9:07 am. She then has a connecting flight to Calgary departing at 10:55 am and arriving at 1:35 pm. She then transfers from domestic to international leaving at 6:55 pm to fly to London Gatwick. She's got flights with Skywest DBA Delta from Boise and Seattle and WestJet airlines from Calgary to London Gatwick. The connection time is longer in Calgary than Seattle, that's why I'm posting on the Seattle Tacoma forum. And my question is, will she make her connection in Seattle? She will have hold luggage. Additionally I'd like to know if she has to go through any security, immigration or customs throughout her flights. She is a US citizen and this is her first journey to the UK. Thanks for any answers.

All she has to do in Seattle is go from her arrival gate to her departure gate. She has plenty of time. In Calgary she will go through Canadian passport control.

What about luggage? Will it be checked all the way through to London or will she need to reclaim it at Seattle and Calgary?

  • transferring UA to Icelandic
    Jan 28, 2016
How much transfer time should I allow for transferirng to and from Icelandic at SEA? I have a choice of booking UA or Alaska. Which would be easier and faster?

Either airline will be the same since you will have to go to the main terminal to claim and re-check your bags. I recommend at least 3 hours if you have checked bags. It can be done in 2 hours without checked bags.
