I am looking at a flight from Heathrow to SEA. I will have 2 hours 15 mins from arrival to clear customs, get bag, recheck bag, go thru TSA and continue my travel to Calif. Will that be enough time?
We are arrive into SEA from Atlanta on Delta. We have a 37 minute layover to make flight to Honolulu. Delta says it is not a problem, but we are traveling w three kids at xmas. Think we can make the connection?
Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Looking at flying with Alaska Airlines leaving Vancouver at 12noon, arriving at Seattle at 12.55pm. Layover for 1 hour 5 mins, departing Seattle at 2pm for Fairbanks with Alaska Airlines again. Is that enough time?
Yes, that is enough time. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver so all you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Many thanks for your reply, ZAP. Otherwise, the other flight involves flying from Vancouver with Air Canada, and having 3 hours 40 mins layover in Seattle before connecting with Alaska Airlines as Alaska Horizon to Fairbanks.
Ketchikan to Vancouver via Seattle
On the return, again with Alaska Airlines, leaving Ketchikan at 10am, arriving at Seattle at 12.55pm. The layover is 2 hours 35 mins, departing Seattle at 3.30pm for Vancouver. I am assuming that this time we have to go through customs and immigration (we are Aussies). Would the 2.5 hours be enough? Many thanks again in advance.
You assume incorrectly. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. Again, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time. You go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Vancouver.
Wow, it seems a bit strange not to go through immigration when you are leaving one country for another. Many thanks again for your reply.
The US has never had Immigration on departure. They record the departure of noncitizens through passport data supplied by the airlines.
For this leg of our journey, it looks like the Canadians are doing all the work LOL!
The people who pre-clear you on your way to Alaska are Americans who live and work in the preclearance facility in Canada.

I am travelling Virgin London to Vancover changing to a Delta flight in Seattle. Checked bags all the way through. Do I clear customs in Seattle?
Yes, in Seattle you must go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.
Hello. Next week I am going from SFO 15:20 - SEA 17:28 with a connecting flight to LHR at 18:35. BA flight, although SFO - SEA is Alaskan Airways. Expedia say my flight is protected if i miss my connection due to any delays, and I have 1hr 7 min connection time. Is this sufficient time? Do
I need to re-check my bag and go through security, or will BA do this for me? Many thanks!
All you have to do in Seattle on your way to London is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time. If you miss your connection you will be rebooked on the BA flight to London the next day.
Thank you!! :)
If my Delta YYJ flight arrives in SEA at 6:30 am, is 1:10 enough time to make my connection to DTW, if I'm on the same airline with my bags checked through? Do I pre-clear customs in YYJ upon leaving or does that happen in SEA? We also have Global Entry. Thanks!
Victoria doesn't have Preclearance, so in Seattle you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time considering the early morning arrival.
Hi I am arriving from Victoria (YYJ) at 2pm and have a connecting flight to Hawaii (KOA) at 3:30pm is this enough time? Delta for both flights with a checked bag.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Tomorrow I will be connecting in SEA with a 44 minute layover. I'm arriving from EWR Newark & then departing to LIH Lihue. I might be arriving in the North Satellite Terminal & departing from Concourse C, & have to take the train loop - will I have enough time?
I am trying to book a flight from DEN to YVR with a layover in Seattle. If I fly on the same airline (would either be Delta or Alaskan Airlines) for both legs and check my bag all the way, will 45 min or 1 hour be enough time to get to my next flight?
Yes, that would be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am arriving on Alaska Airlines at 8:30pm from Bozeman, MT and want to know if I can make a 9:10 pm flight on Southwest Airlines.
With checked bags, absolutely not. With no checked bags, barely, if the first flight is on-time and you run and you check in online for your Southwest flight.
