I am flying to Seattle from Sacramento on a Delta Connection flight and have one hour to get to a Delta international flight to Amsterdam. Is that enough time? Are both in the same terminal?

Seattle has only one terminal but six different gate areas. Delta does not fly from Sacramento to Seattle, so that flight is likely operated by Alaska Airlines. All gate areas are connected inside security by walkways and underground trains. 1 hour should be enough time.

i have a connecting flight in seattle..im flying in form vancouver and the connecting flight is with emirates. will i hav to go through the baggage claim procedure?

Did you purchase your flight together or separately? You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.

I will be arriving in seattle from minneapolis with a layover of 1 and 5 min, until my flight to hong kong. both flights are with delta. will i have enough time to get to my hong kong flight? will my arrival from minneapolis and departure to hong kong be in the same terminal?

Yes, that should be enough time. Seattle only has one terminal but six gate areas. Delta uses two different gate areas, however both flights will likely be in the S satellite.

Delta uses the South Satellite for both flights. All you need to do is look at overhead screens & find your connecting gate.

I will be flying into Seattle from Minneapolis on Delta and then connecting on to fly to Tokyo (Japan) on Delta. Questions: I am guessing I will need to recheck my bags, yes? The layover time is only 1 hour. With the rechecking of the bags and going through immigration, will that be enough time?

You do not have to re-check bags or go through US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do in MSP is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 1 hour should be plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

sorry Misread your post, replace "MSP" with "SEA" - you will only have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Seattle.

Thanks. It's been a while since I've been back to the US. All countries I've visited in Asia require you to exit the country through immigration. I forgot that the US doesn't. I wonder how the catch visa over-stayers/

The airlines send immigration their passenger lists with their passport #'s. That's how they know who is leaving without them having to go through exit immigration.

I arrive in Seattle from Vancouver with 45 minutes connection time between scheduled landing and scheduled take-off. Is that enough time (assuming no delays) for transfer to international flight, including luggage? Seems tight.

If your tickets were purchased together it should be enough time.

I am looking at a flight from Vancouver, Canada, which leaves me with an hour layover at SEATAC to make my outbound connection for Amsterdam with Delta. It seems as the inbound delta flight from YVR uses the B gates, and the outbound Delta flight is S gates. Baggage should be handled as it is all Delta, and typically you have to pre-clear customs in Vancouver prior to departure. 1) Will I be able to make it?

Yes, you will preclear US Immigration in Vancouver, an hour should be enough time.

Hello! I'm flying from DEN to SEA on a Delta codeshare flight operated by Alaska, then I have a two hour layover to board a Delta flight to Incheon. My questions are: 1.) Is this enough time? 2.) Will I arrive at the Alaska terminal and then go over to international at the S terminal? and 3.) Will I have to recheck my baggage between Alaska and delta? Thanks very much!

Yes, that should be enough time. Seattle only has one terminal. You will just have to change concourses to the S Satellite. You will not have to do anything with your baggage.

My flight will be arrived Seattle at 8:35am from Hong Kong, however, I have only 1 hour and 30 minutes to get on the next flight to Calgary, do you think I have enough time to finish the luggage pick up, go through the custom and re-check-in.

Yes, that should be barely enough time.

I will be arriving from PSP with a 3 hr 15 min layover. Will I have to change concourses for my connection to AMS? If so, is there a set concourse for KLM Flights to AMS? I am planning on meeting my daughter for coffee at the airport, is there a way out at the departing concourse for simple re-entry. Would like to advise her which area to go.

KLM does not fly to Seattle, so your flight to Amsterdam is on Delta. It will leave from the S Satellite. There is no simple re-entry, you will have to go to the main terminal, exit security, and then when you're done stand in the same large security line as everyone else. I don't think you'll get more than an hour to spend with your daughter.

I would like to meet members of my family tomorrow for lunch at the airport who are flying in on Alaska flight 17 at 10:18am and don't fly out until 2:05pm. They arrive at gate N3. Do they have time to leave and meet me at the main terminal for coffee and get to their next flight on time?

Yes, they would probably have some time.

Hi, just bought a ticket from KEF to SEA but will have to take a connecting flight to SFO (San Fran). I will land at 17:45 and I could buy at the latest a ticket with Virgin at 19:35 which is 1hr50min from landing to take off. I presume I will have to go through customs (i´m not an american) and pick up my luggage and hurry up to the gate or ? Is this enough time ? what is the minimum time? regards Haddi

Since you are buying two separate tickets you will have to go to the main terminal to get your bags after clearing customs, then take your bags to your second airline's counter and then re-check them. Generally you have to do this 45 minutes before the flight. Alaska Airlines has an 20:50 SEA-SFO flight and a 21:25 SEA-OAK flight (OAK is right across the bay from SFO). I would recommend booking one of those.

ok thanks so much for the info and a swift reply. I will check this out.

Hi, I'm flying from Los Angeles to Incheon (Seoul), South Korea. I have a layover of 34 minutes in Seattle. Assuming no delays, is this enough time for a connection / transfer? Thanks in advance.

    Also, I am flying Delta.

Yes, that should be enough time. Both flights should be in the S satellite.

Hi. I will be coming from Hong Kong to Seattle with only 1hr 20min to get on my flight to Edmonton Canada. I have 2 questions. 1. Is that enough time to transfer to my EDM flight? 2. Do I have to pickup baggage in Seattle and then check them in again for Edmonton? Or will they go straight from HKG to EDM? Thanks in advance to your generous input.

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage, go through US Customs, and re-check your baggage in Seattle. 80 minutes should be enough time but leaves very little to spare in the case of any delays.

  • What is minimum time for connecting flight (international arrival)

Hi I have a through ticket with Delta, who have just amended flight times, so now arrive from LHR on DL36 at 15.21 hours then depart on DL2237 at 17.20 to HNL. Is this enough time to clear customs/immigration and is the Delta flight to HNL from the same terminal? How long will it take to travel from immigration to the departure gate for HNL and what happens re checked baggage? Thanks..

Yes, 2 hours should still be plenty of time. You will re-check your baggage immediately after you clear customs in the basement of the S-Satellite, before you go through security.

Thanks so much for the information.

Hi, will I have enough time to do the immigration and customs, if I have less than 2 hrs. connecting time? I'm coming from AMS with DL (5:00 pm) and have an onward flight to LAS (6:55pm) with SkyWest. Thanks in advance!

Yes, that should be enough time.

    Thank you!

  • Enough time to make connection?

Hi, I am a foreign national (with visa) and have a virgin Atlantic flight from Heathrow arriving in SEA at 14:44 on Thursday, and then have a connecting flight to San Francisco, again with Virgin Atlantic, at 16:00. Will this be enough time to reclaim baggage, go through customs and immigration, re-check my baggage and catch my connection?(It's all one ticket aswell if that makes any difference) Thanks

Virgin Atlantic does not fly from SEA to SFO. Your flight to SFO is likely operated by Delta. You will have a very difficult connection but it is doable.

Ok, thank you for the reply
