  • Need some advice on connection

I am due to land in Seattle on monday and have a 1:30hr stop over before my connection flight. I know this is the minimum connection time, however I cannot change my flight or ticket so will have to just hope it is possible.. Could anyone advise me on how to best get from my arrivals gate to departure gate via customs and security etc. I am arriving at 13:18 from London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic (operated by Delta). My connecting flight departs at 14:47 to Vancouver with Virgin Atlantic (operated by Delta). Where do I have to go once I land, which satellite and likely gates etc? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks

You will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security. Your flight to Vancouver will likely depart from concourse A or B, which is connected to concourse S by an underground train.

we are travelling ANC to YVR via SEA on AS120. we only have 40mins to connect with AS2242[ Horizon] at SEA. Expect bags to be thru checks. Do we have time for connection AND do we have Immigration/Customs check at SEA. Travelling on Aussie passports with visas. Thanks

There is no US Immigration or customs when exiting the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time as long as your flight from Anchorage is on-time.

There's no custom check at Seattle airport outbound. And normally a connection no need to re-check the bags. So if your Alaska airline arrives on time, it should be enough time for you

  • Dalta Airline terminals for international and domestic fights

Does Dalta Airline have the same terminals for international travel and domestic travel in Seattle Airport?

    Seattle only has one terminal.

I am flying into SEATAC on Air Canada arrives at 09:40 to catch an Alaska flight to HLN at 11:25 will I make the connection going from terminal to terminal.

Seattle only has one terminal. Do you have checked bags? Are your tickets on the same reservation or two separate reservations?

My daughter is flying from Victoria to Seattle and then continuing on to Salt Lake. She is arriving at S gate and departing out of B gate. Will she have to claim her bags and go through customs or will she just have to get to B gate and wait for her connecting flight. Both flights are with Delta.

Yes, since Victoria doesn't have preclearance in Seattle she will have to go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the underground train to her departure gate.

I have booked the above itinerary in one booking. YVR-SEA operated by AS, SEA-AMS by DL. Do I have to pick up and re-check baggage at SEA?

No, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will fly from Hong Kong to Seattle airport, then will transfer to LAX with Delta Air. Do I need to go through US Custom? If I do, how can I go to the domestic gate?

Yes, in Seattle you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Changing planes in Seattle on Delta arriving from SJC, final destination Victoria. Delta agent told me I have to go through customs in Seattle - with a 40 minute layover that doesn't seem doable. Questions: customs in Seattle or Victoria??

The agent is an idiot. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Seattle. You will go through Canadian Immigration and customs in Victoria.

Thank you! My stress level just went back to 0. Now I get to call Delta and happily tell them the agent I spoke with is an idiot :-)

I have a 32 minute connection in Seattle flying from MSP connecting on a flight to Fairbanks. Is this doable?

Yes, it is possible but obviously leaves no time to spare if the flight from MSP is delayed.

If I am flying Alaska Airlines to Seattle with an hour and a half layover to connect with another Alaska flight to Missoula do I need to recheck baggage etc?

As long as your first flight is also within the US, then you don't have to do anything with your bags in Seattle. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Is 54 minutes layover in SEA enough time for US citizen from LAX to SEA to AMS?

Yes, if all tickets are on the same reservation then all you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.

  • Layover in SEA

I am flying from YYJ to SNA with a layover in SEA for 1 hour and 20 minutes. We are flying with Delta. My boyfriend and I are both flying with checked bags. Will this be enough time? Will we clear US Customs/Immigration in SEA on our layover, or at our final destination in SNA airport? I am very nervous as this is my first time flying without a parent, I am nervous about missing a step or messing up the flight somehow. Thank you!

In Seattle you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 80 minutes is below the recommended international to domestic connection time in Seattle. It's not impossible but is difficult.

Thank you for answering my earlier question (re: LHR to YVR via SEA). I will be trying to change to a SEA layover of 3+ hours. New question: As a Canadian arriving from the UK and just passing through SEA to return to Canada, am I eligible to use the CPB automated passport kiosks to help spped things up? I have tried to search online for this answer but remain unclear as to whether the kiosk can be used for just-passing-through arrivals from countries other than Canada.

Canadians passport holders can always use the kiosks, regardless of they are visiting or transiting through the US.

I am travelling with 2 kids from Dubai to Seattle(Emirates) and have to board a flight at Seattle for San Francisco(Alaskan Airlines) within 2 hrs. I need to clear Immigration and Customs too. Let me know which terminal does Emirate land in, where do I need to go to clear customs and immigration and how do I reach the gate to board Alaskan Airlines. I am planning to do a through check-in for my baggages but I still need to clear customs and hand them over again.

Seattle only has one terminal. The flight from Dubai will arrive in the S Satellite. If both tickets are purchased on the same reservation, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags and go through security all on the lower level of the S Satellite, then you will take the underground trains to your Alaska gate in the C, D, or N concourse.

  • From Domestic Flight to International Flight

We (5 people) will travel from Denver to Seattle by Alaskan Air (arrive at 09.50 am) then we have a connecting flight from Seattle to Seoul by Korean Air (depart at 14.15pm). Will the time be enough for us to take our luggage from conveyor then heading to the international terminal then do all the procedures again (check in, immigration, etc). Kindly advise. Thank you.

There is no Immigration when leaving the US. If all tickets are on the same reservation all you have to do in Seattle on your way to Korea is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
